DOCUMENTARY: The Coronation: 60th Anniversary Service On: BBC 1 London (101) Date: Tuesday 4th June 2013 Sixty years after being crowned, Her Majesty the Queen returns to Westminster Abbey for a service of celebration. There she is joined by her children and grandchildren, along with other members of the Royal Family. The choir performs music sung at the coronation in 1953; and the prayers and readings echo rituals that go back a thousand years. Before the Service the Ampulla and Crown of St Edward are brought from the Tower of London and placed on the High Altar. The Lord Mayor of Westminster and Consort are received at the Great West Door by the Dean and Chapter of Westminster and conducted to their places in Quire. All remain seated.
