The lady featured in this video was politely asked to speak in a more hushed tone as she got onto the silent carriage, yelling down her mobile phone. In a train carriage full of children, the elderly lady who had politely asked her to quiet down was then attacked by a barrage of unnecessary swear words and insults, to which she calmly continued to ask the yeller to stop. After a few minutes of this, I found that the train carriage had emptied itself. Still, this didn't deter her from continually yelling insults at the elderly lady. If this doesn't scream disrespect, I don't know what does. The fact that the woman yelling isn't ashamed of her behaviour is incomprehensible.
In Hong Kong, there is a prevalent dislike for those who come down from the mainland. In addition to the yelling, the spitting, the shoving, the cutting of queues and pissing on the streets, this obnoxious display is another one of the reasons why Chinese people from the mainland get a bad rep. That is not to say that all people from the mainland will act this way, as that is a terrible generalization. That being said, I have witnessed more than a few handfuls of these altercations, this footage being an example of one....
For shame, lady. Have some respect.
If anyone has got a translation, I'd be more than willing to put it up.

Guy : Okay, well, what do you want to eat?
HKGirl: Why can't you be more decisive? Are you a real man?
// HKGirl turns around and leaves.

MLG: Where should we go for dinner?
Guy: Korean BBQ, Korean BBQ is pretty good. (with very lousy Mandarin)
MLG: How about we go to Peninsula for buffet? It's excellent there.
Guy: ... now?
MLG: Yeah! C'mon, let's go.
//MLG dragged the guy away
-- Dining: ABC Girl --

Friend: Hey! Ain't you Ng! Long time no see!
Guy : Ain't you Look Chard? (Look Chard sounds like 6 7 which means stupid, dumb, dork in Cantonese)
Friend: Yeah! I'm Look Chard.
Guy : Yeah! Long time no see!
Friend: How have you been?
Guy : Oh, like usual, just walking around with my girlfriend.
Friend: You're so lucky having a girlfriend.

Guy : WTF! Where did she go again?
Friend: Where?
MLG : You guys don't need to pay me any attention. I'll just do my makeup for a bit. You guys keep talking.
-- Meeting Friends: ABC Girl --
Friend: You're Ng! Long time no see!
ABC : Nice to meet you!
Friend: Nice to meet you!
ABC : Have you two known each other for a long time?
Friend: Yeah! We go way back. And you?
ABC : We only met since last week. Didn't he tell you?
Friend: Oh I didn't know.
ABC : How about we text (each other)? Give me your phone number?
Friend: Of course, no problem.
// Guy totally ignored.
-- After Dinner: Hong Kong Girl --
Guy: So we have finished dinner. So like you wanna — (cut off by HKG)
HKG: I need to go home. My parents said I have to be home before dusk.
Guy: Okay, I will take the bus with you.
HKG: You meant taxi.
Guy: Taxi?
// Guy follows HKG.

Guy: Dinner is done. (with very lousy Mandarin)
Guy: You wanna ... ? You wanna come to my home for a cup of coffee?
MLG: Sure! I really want coffee.
Guy: Really? Let's take a taxi!
// Guy drags MLG away.
-- After Dinner: ABC --
Guy: So dinner is done.
Guy: Actually, do you wanna — (cut off by ABC)
ABC: How about let's go to your home? Coffee?
Guy: Good Idea!
Guy: But my dad and my mom are home.
ABC: Then, let's go to mine?
Guy: For real?
ABC: Yeah, there is no one. I live alone.
Guy: Really?
ABC: Hurry up!
Guy: Reallllly?
// ABC drags guy away.

ME, ME, ME, The Rude Mainland Chinese Mindset
Of course there are rude people and nice people everywhere in the world. Any Chinese person I know on a personal level is lovely. However, in China, or to be specific, Jiangsu provence, over there years I have witnessed repeated public displays of hierarchy from the middle and upperclass. Rich people screaming at poor people on the street. Swanning into buildings leaving the door open.
Shouting at waitresses and flipping the table if their food doesn't arrive quickly enough. Walking in wide line formation down the street so that no one can get past easily.
Lots more screaming at people. Parking their expensive cars anywhere and then screaming at anyone who has a problem with it, usually the poor parking attendant. Expensive cars carelessly taking over the roads with little regards for others; once I saw a woman in a fairly expensive car drive in to a gas station in the wrong direction blocking other cars from exiting, then proceeded to shout at the clerk to fill her car up.
They are seen as pushy, loud, impolite, unruly, and they are everywhere.
And although destination countries welcome the tourism dollars the Chinese spend, they loathe the chaos and hassle some mainland tourists bring upon their cities and other tourists.
“Why can’t they just behave?” people wonder, some aloud.
DON'T MISS - Rude awakening: Chinese tourists have the money, but not the manners I have been asking myself the same question in the past months after reporting on the uncivilised, sometimes galling behaviour of some compatriots.
It seems that every time a “rude Chinese tourist" story is published on SCMP.com, it goes straight into the site's top 10 most read articles - one such article even managed to crawl back to the top months after it was posted. So I decided to give the question some serious thought. tourism experts and travel agents and chatted with some of these tourists who are now at the centre of public anger.
Yong Chen, tourism researcher and post-doctoral fellow at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, said most “bad” tourists don’t intend to be “bad” or “tourists”, they are just being themselves - they are being Chinese. china chinese "mainland china" tourism tourist rude society social mindset knowledge education hk "hong kong" taiwan asia asian "south east asia" 2015 2016 "middle age" "tour group" tour pass hotel "hotel room" booking world global history historic me parents "number 1" child children money cash wealth millionaire billionaire shenzhen "made in china" investment passport "u.s. citizenship" compensation "social media" "elite nwo agenda" ratchet china daily loser laowai in china rice behavior eticate manners morals values chinese culture farmer land factory
Not every Chinese tourist is a rude one, and educated people are usually better behaved than those who have had a lower standard of education, said Chen.
This could be why middle-aged or older tourists who have been deprived of or received little education during China's politically tumultuous times tend to act more unruly. Many of them do not speak English, and some are not fluent Putonghua speakers. Their knowledge of the destination country and its culture is often at best outdated or non-existent.
Disregard for customs and rules Jenny Wang, a Beijing-based Maldives travel agent, said uneducated tourists usually turn a blind eye to local rules and customs.
A Chinese man who was recently vacationing at a Maldives resort flipped out after discovering that the restaurant where he wanted to eat was fully booked, Wang said. He yelled threats and slurs at Chinese staff until one member was in tears.
Though most travel agents in China would educate their clients about tipping in a foreign country ahead of their trip, most people ended up tipping very little or none. Some are not used to the idea of tipping, and they fail to understand that staff working at the Maldives resorts, who usually earn salary, rely heavily on tips, Wang said.
2. China became rich and open to the world in just a few decades, and so did the chinese middle and rich class. Most of them did not receive a proper education in academics or manners when they were young. If you take a look at what happened in China over the last century, you will know more. 3. In China too many people are competing for very limited resources. By "resources", I mean almost everything valuable: A chance to go to a good middle school, a good university, job opportunities, promotional opportunities, good doctors, wealth, et cetera... People became selfish toward other people simply because they are all competitors. (However, this is not true within families where parents extremely spoil their children.)

Travel video about destination China.
China’s Imperial City is located in the centre of its ancient Middle Kingdom, a gigantic and inscrutable empire beyond the Great Wall. The Imperial City is entered through the Gates of Heavenly Peace. After seven years of construction, Ming Emperor Zhu Di moved into his newly-established palace complex in which over eight thousand people lived in almost a thousand rooms. The palace served as both a residential and governmental seat to the emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. A stone’s throw away from the old Summer Palace is the Garden of Harmonious Unity that was the favourite garden of the Emperor’s household who retreated to its cool lakeside shores during the humid months of summer. Close to Badaling the Great Wall Of China extends majestically across misty mountains. It is the largest Man-made structure in the world and was erected to protect the country from invasion from the North. The gigantic wall represented the division of two very different cultures. On one side the Central Asian Nomads and on the other the highly developed civilisation of the emerging Chinese Empire. Shanghai is a Gigantic City and a meeting point of both east and west. The shoreline is without a doubt the city’s main focal point and is a combination of past, present and future and contains the historic monuments and eye catching buildings of a great city. Famous explorer Marco Polo referred to Suzhou as the ‘Venice of the East’, a city that is particularly famous for its gardens. Many of its extremely elegant buildings are remnants of a glorious past. Yunnan´s most famous site is the unique Stone Forest Of Shi Lin, a forest of rock that extends for 27,000 hectares. Hong Kong is a city of the superlative with glimmering skyscrapers that seem to take root in the sky and one elegant building after another with shining glass and hi-tech facades. China is a world within a world!

Things to do in China Travel Guide: Guangxi Province (Guilin, Yangshuo, Li River, Rice Terraces) playlist:
1) A tour of Yangshuo night life including visiting a night market and eating Chinese street food (阳朔夜市和街头食品) China
2) Red Yao Hill Tribe Long Hair Performance at Lonji Longsheng Rice Terrace in Guilin, China (瑤族 - 瑶族) (龙胜梯田 - 龍勝梯田)
3) Li River Bamboo Boat Cruise down the Li River from Guilin to Yangshuo, China (Lijiang: 从桂林到阳朔漓江竹游船)
4) Hiking up Longsheng Rice Terraces (Longji Dragon's Backbone) in Guilin, China (龙胜梯田 - 龙脊梯田)
5) Bicycle ride around scenic rural and countryside areas just outside of Yangshuo, China (骑自行车在阳朔乡间)
6) A tour around Guilin, China at night including night markets, street food, pagodas and lakes 晚上桂林
7) Taking the train in China from Hong Kong to Guangzho en route to Guilin travel video
So tonight is our very last night in Yangshuo, a charming little town in Southwestern China, so we're going to show you around the main strip.
So our first stop is going to be the street food market. I haven't eaten in maybe two hours, so it's time to get a snack.
If I had to choose between Guilin and Yangshuo the two most popular cities in this region it's definitely Yangshuo. It's a more historic town. It's a lot more pedestrian friendly and there are great
As we were wandering around the night market tonight we had lots of people come up to us and ask to take photos beside us. At least probably four or five times and we finally filmed the last one. It was really cool. We were like celebrities in China. Yeah, almost famous.
So, this market had some pretty cool souvenirs. We saw fake Chinese passports if you want to take one of those home. They also had combs carved out of ox bone. They had these stamps where you can get your Chinese name carved on them and then you can just sign documents that way which is pretty cool.
Today we are visiting a local hill tribe that just lives a few hours outside of Guilin and we've come here because this community is known for the women's long hair. They grow it out and it's almost a meter and a half long and we're actually going to be watching a performance where they spin their hair and wrap it up and show us how they wear it.
Today we're in between Guilin and Yangshuo and we're doing a special river cruise down the Li River.
So this tour is going to be an hour and a half long and we're going to get to enjoy some pretty stunning landscapes, so I'm pretty excited about it.
When I came here two years ago it was hazy and foggy. Now it's a gorgeous glorious day.
Here we are at the Longji Rice Fields which are located just outside of Guilin. We've had such good luck. Check out the weather and the views behind.
So we are hiking up to one of the viewing platforms. This is going to be tough because it's like forty degrees outside and we're been told it'll take 30 minutes to one hour depending on our pace. So I'm trying to stay hydrated. Audrey is going to have to workout
We've rented a couple of bikes and we've decided to spend our last morning exploring around the countryside areas of Yangshuo. They were pretty cheap. Just under two dollars for each bike.
So we finally made it to Guilin.
So this is the Guilin main square. It gets really busy here at night. Lots of shops, restaurants, eateries. You can do it all here.
Chinese singing.
So we are now at the lake and the main attraction are the these two pagodas that light up at night.
Background music playing.
Oh, that mapo tofu looks so good. Really generous sized portion.
Well, it's hard to believe but our time in Hong Kong has already expired. Today we're taking a train ride. Where are we going? We're crossing over into China.
We are in Guangzho. Apparently there are two train stations. We arrived at the one that is on the East End of the City and we had to get across town to the other and it was difficult but we need to keep going.
So right now we are in Guangzho station waiting for our train to Guilin. And we happen to be waiting in the VIP room.
There is no tea in this tea room.
We're going to Guilin.
Uh, we're looking for number ten.
So we're in the dining cart now getting ready to have dinner. Let's see what is on the menu if we can even read it. We barely got a seat here.
Decision time. So we did manage to find an English menu which makes things a lot easier.
Fish one. Tofu with pork. One. Okay. Rice. One Rice? Okay. Beer. One. Okay. Ah, green tea - one. okay.
So this is the friend fish with a sweet and sour sauce.
Good morning. We are almost in Guilin. Our train has been delayed about an hour and a half.

Hong Kong, a former British territory, is one of the most densely populated places in China and in the world. You’ll find quiet neighborhoods full of temples and a dazzling skyline loaded with shopping and dining opportunities.
Your Hong Kong tour must include visits to the many religious sites scattered around the city, where incense wafts from shrines and monasteries take over entire hillsides. You’ll have a marvelous time shopping in tax-free Hong Kong, where you’ll be able to find clothing, jewelry, furniture, and everything else under the sun.
Don’t forget about Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, which overlooks the stunning Victoria Harbor. From there, your Hong Kong sightseeing may detour to Central, the city’s main business district, which looks like something out of a sci-fi film. The observation deck atop the International Commerce Centre will show you fantastic views of the city.
Hong Kong isn’t all cityscape, of course; there are many gardens, parks, and other green spaces for you to explore. You’ll also find beaches, national parks, and quiet islands for you to indulge in natural beauty and serenity. This city truly has everything.

Shanghai - China Travel Guide http://goo.gl/Cl0qNG
Shanghai is the future all other Chinese cities aspire to reach. Forget creaking temples and dusty old palaces (there are plenty of them elsewhere); Shanghai is where people come to see modern China at its glimmering best.
This fast-paced city of towering skyscrapers is, in fact, not without its own significant history. Its glory days of the 1930s helped build Shanghai's reputation as a City of Sin. But to pause for too long at the city's past would be missing the point: Shanghai is all about the future face of the world's future super power, and coming here is to witness what makes the business end of China tick.
Perhaps best visited at the end of your trip to China, Shanghai offers history-tired tourists the chance to dine at glitzy restaurants, wine at funky cocktail bars and shop inside dazzling malls before resting up in the country's most impressive hotels.

Travel video about destination Qingdao Beach in China.
When the Chinese want to get married, they come to Tsingtao : there’s nothing cooler than a wedding on the beach or in the bay. Even if it resembles a production line. Tsingtao was originally popular with the Germans, who introduced the city to beer at the beginning of the last century. The beaches here have only recently become accessible to every social class. On the sands, one encounters a surprising cross-section, those in their work clothes and business suits, and others who daringly sport a swimming costume, (although bikinis are rare). Many hesitate to take the plunge, because a lot of young Chinese quite simply can’t swim ! Rubber rings are therefore indispensable, and are carried, or worn around the waist, on the buses going to the beach. Some people are abandoning them, though, as they learn to swim : in 2008 Tsingtao will host the Olympic Games’ water sports events…

China Travel Guide http://bit.ly/12jcBNf
Shepherd Entertainment takes you on a tour of Xian, which was the first capital and the 10 biggest cities of China.
Xian was the first capital of China. The heart of the enormous empire once throbbed here. Rows of
imperial dynasties ruled from here over 11 centuries. This was the starting point of the famous Silk
Road and the city with its 1 million residents was considered a huge metropolis at that time. Although
the city lost its rank and influence after the revolution of Huang Chao in 875, it still belongs to the 10
biggest cities of China.
The Asian countries have always been famous for their handicrafts and China is no exception to this.
The making, coloring and processing of silk looks back on such ancient traditions as paper cutting, paper
folding or the making of --. Chinese calligraphy and wooden engravings are also famous together with
porcelain painting. In Xian, almost all fields of handicrafts are practiced, however the most well known
are the carvings made of semiprecious stones. From light green jade and deep green nephrite, mostly
little sculptures and ornaments are carved. The decorations and patterns of which imitate ancient
statues. There are many dragon representations but of course Buddha sculptures are also made in large
numbers.
China joined the monument and landscape protection program of the UNESCO in 1985. From 1987 until
these days, more than 10000 buildings have been declared monuments, 63 settlements have received
cityscape protection and 27 treasures have been recorded in the world heritage list. The long list
includes the imperial palace of Beijing, the summer palace, the temple of heaven, the Ming tombs, the
sections of the Great Wall around the capital and of course the terracotta army. This spectacle can be
found 1.5km east of the burial hill of Qin Shi Huang Di. The tomb of the strict ruler unifying China is 221
BC has not been excavated yet although there have been excavations in this 8 square kilometer area for
decades.
A farmer named Yang Gi Fa drilled a well from which water always escaped so he went down to the well
to check the reason. Do there, he found himself face to face with a frightful figure. However this figure
was not a monster or a ghost or even a skeleton or mummy but a clay statue which looked very real. In
communist China in 1974, people had to be very careful about what they should report to the
authorities and what not. After long pondering the farmer reported his finding to the museum of Xian
and he got 30 yuan as a reward. Archeologists found one of the most significant artifacts of the world
here, under the agricultural land.
In several cultures, for instance in Egypt or South America, it was a custom to bury the dead lord
together with all his people so that they could serve him even in the afterlife. From this custom, came
the -- in Egypt which is a little sculpture who works in place of his lord in the afterlife. Probably it was a
similar reason why this huge clay army followed their master to the grave. During the first excavations,
some three enormous chambers were found deep into the ground. The biggest of them is more than
14000 square meters. Inside this, the 6000 armed men stood ordered in military formation. The man
sized figures bore real weapons and accessories. Their makers didn't choose the easy way. They didn't
just pour clay into forms. They formed them individually by hand which is evident by the fact that the
face of all the figures have individual features. Maybe they really represented the actual people of the
army of that time.

The Huanglong (hoo-ang-long) Scenic Area, in China, is a place of such incredible beauty that it is almost otherworldly.
Flowing through the floor of this valley is one of the tributaries of a river.
Limestone pools, many of which are lipped with golden color, have slowly formed within the waters of this river.
On a bright day, the shimmering pools look like scales on a dragon whose body is the river.
The valley's name -- Huanlong - means Yellow Dragon.
As the bright waters flow, many exotic and fascinating types of animals can be seen moving about the park here.

Take a tour of Harbin Ice and Snow Festival in Harbin, China -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.
The wealth of snow and ice produced in northeastern China provides the perfect setting for a magical sight; the Harbin Ice and Snow Festival.
This festival, which began in 1963, was stayed for a number of years by the Chinese Cultural Revolution, but was resumed again in 1985.
Each year the festival is themed and usually takes inspiration from Chinese fairy tales or noteworthy monuments around the world.
The festival displays an abundance of different nationalities and cultures both in the sculptures themselves, and the teams who craft them.
These elaborate and intricately carved sculptures can take a team of experienced sculptors the full month of the festival to complete.
Make the most of a cold day or brave a winters night when these massive creations come alive with vivacious lights, at the Harbin Ice and Snow Festival.

Attractions in Times Square: Upscale shopping and restaurants
Time Square, full of lights, packed with people an quint-essential big city experience. I am not talking about that Time Square. I am talking about this one. Hong Kong's Time Square. Hong Kong's Time Square may not have the abundance of neon lights of New York's Time Square, however it does rival the one in New York in terms of crowds and activity.
Located in the Cosway Bay area, this is the center of Hong Kong's commercial activity, especially in the evenings. You notice the magnitude of this place as soon as you walk in. This huge building here has major upscale brand outlets, restaurants and offices. On the lower levels the place caters to shopaholics. But only those who are big spenders.
They did not forget the food part here. There are plenty of restaurants on the upper floor. Time Square is more than just this mall. Some might say the real action is outside on the streets. This is where you experience everyday Hong Kong life. This place is absolutely buzzing with energy. There are about a million people here going about their daily activities. This is Rosanna Wilcox, showing you Hong Kong.

Travel video about destination Macau in China.
After 466 years, Portugal handed back the city of Macau to China. It is small and museum-like, a fine example of colonial Portugal on the South China Sea.
The Fortaleza Do Monte is a typical Portuguese fortified complex strategically located on a hill above the old cathedral in the heart of the city. Its many old canons and mighty fortress walls are reminders of those times when invasion was a constant threat.
The old centre of the city is the triangular Largo Do Senado, Senate Square. Its wonderful colonial buildings with their light-colored facades were built at the end of the 19th century and completely renovated in the final decade of the 20th.
Macau's largest Buddhist temple, Templo de Kun Iam Tong, dates back 400 years to the Ming Dynasty when its original foundations were built. Beyond its main gate, just off a busy street in the north of the city, is a peaceful oasis of silence and contemplation, a mystic place in which stone lions, golden Buddhas and all who visit are surrounded by serene, aromatic wisps of smoke.
The beautiful Jardim de Lou Lim Ioc Park is situated in the northern less touristy business district of the city. It was designed in the 19th century by a wealthy Chinese trader, Lou Kau. This marvelous oasis is an idyllic setting with a lotus pond, rocks, grottos and waterfalls.
Excursions are available on restored motorized junks that leave from the City's harbor several times a day.
Taipa is the larger of the two islands that belong to Macau. The tangled and narrow alleys in the centre of Vila da Taipa abound with rural character and Portuguese street signs are painted on azulejos. The island's shops and light-colored houses would be equally at home in Portugal.
Although the Macau of today has much contemporary flair, it continues to enjoy a rich colonial inheritance that is well worth seeing.

Hong Kong Travel Video including some of the top things to do in Hong Kong along with the best attractions in Hong Kong, China.
Hong Kong is one of the most dynamic cities in all of Asia. From a travel perspective it offers numerous diverse options worth exploring.
Whether one is exploring Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, Victoria Harbor or the New Territories, there are plenty of attractions to cover.
The following is a list of the top things to do in Hong Kong:
1) Avenue of Stars at Night in Kowloon (星光大道)
Wandering around Avenue of Stars at night is the perfect way to experience Hong Kong in the evening. Overlooking Victoria Harbour, this area has been modeled after the Hollywood Walk of Fame championing all of the celebrities involved in the Hong Kong entertainment industry. None is more famous than the Bruce Lee statue. This is also the perfect place to watch A Symphony of Lights laser show which happens daily at 8 pm.
2) Afternoon High Tea at the Peninsula
Sitting down for afternoon tea at the Peninsula is one of the more posh activities in Hong Kong. Expect to wait in line (we waited over 2 hours) for a table. You can get complete sets which include assorted finger food along with a drink. This is definitely not a budget activity.
3) Views of Hong Kong from Victoria Peak and Tram Ride (太平山)
Taking a tram ride up to Victoria Peak to experience the best vantage point of Hong Kong, Kowloon and Victoria Harbor is one of the top attractions in the city. Many come at night; however, we recommend coming in the afternoon on a weekday when you can enjoy having more personal space.
4) Star Ferry boat ride (天星小輪)
There are many different modes of transportation in Hong Kong; however, none are quite as authentic of an experience as taking Star Ferry from Hong Kong Island to Kowloon or vice versa. It's one of the cheapest ways to get around.
5) Junk Boat Ride
Taking a Junk boat ride around Victoria harbor offers some of the best views of the city. It's especially popular at night to take in A Symphony of Lights performance.
6) Hong Kong Park and Tea Appreciation Ceremony (香港公園)
To get away from all of the hustle and bustle check out Hong Kong Park for a tranquil escape. If you have time participate in a Chinese tea appreciation ceremony.
7) Sampan Boat Tour in Aberdeen (舢舨)
Taking a ride on a traditional Sampan boat allows you to experience what life is like for Chinese fishermen.
8) Eating Dim Sum (點心 - 点心)
One should not leave Hong Kong without first trying dim sum. These small sized bites are treats that are accompanied by a pot of Chinese tea.
9) Taking a night bus tour of Hong Kong Island and Kowloon
Taking a night bus tour allows you to visit distinct areas in both Hong Kong Island and Kowloon such as Mong Kok and Causeway Bay.

STORYLINE:
Taliban launched a complex attack in Afghan capital of Kabul on Monday night, triggering a 10-hour gunfight between the militants and the Afghan security forces, police said on Tuesday.
Three attackers were killed while 11 people including civilians and police were wounded, the police said.
The attack occurred at around 20:00 when the militants attacked the house of Nahim Baluch, former governor of Helmand province along Dar-ul-Aman road in western Kabul.
One militant was killed after he detonated a car bomb in front of the targeted house. Two militants seized control of a nearby empty building and clashed with security forces. The fighting ended after the security forces eliminated the militants at wee hours of Tuesday, according to a police source.
The attack also damaged several nearby houses.
"I lived in this region and we didn't sleep all night long. The blast was so powerful that even (apartment) windows one kilometer away were broken. We all felt worried," said witness Sayed Majeed.
Baluch had served as deputy director of the national intelligence agency in the past, and his family were safe and sound, said the source.
The Taliban militant group has claimed responsibility for the incident.
Insurgency led by the militant group has been rampant since mid-April when it launched a yearly rebel offensive against Afghan security forces.
The group urged civilians to stay away from official gatherings, military convoys and centers, besides warning people not to support the government.

The Shanghai Disney Resort is an upcoming theme park resort by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. This is the first Disney park in mainland China and the second within the Greater China region, the other being the existing Hong Kong Disneyland. Phase 1 of the resort's development will feature a Disneyland-style park, Shanghai Disneyland Park, an entertainment district, two themed hotels, recreational facilities, a lake and associated parking and transportation hubs. Additional phases will see the development of two additional theme parks at the resort. The site will cover 963 acres in Pudong, Shanghai, or approximately 3 times the size of the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, at a cost of 24.5 billion yuan (US$3.7 billion) for the new theme park and an additional 4.5 billion yuan (US$0.7 billion) to build other aspects of the resort. 43% of the resort will be owned by The Walt Disney Company and the remaining 57% will be owned by the Shanghai Shendi Group, itself a joint venture of three companies owned by the Shanghai government.[1] Project Application Report for the resort was approved by the Chinese government on November 4, 2009.[2]
In February 2015, Disney announced that the resort would be opening in Spring 2016,[3] ending speculation that the resort would be ready within 2015. The exact opening date has not yet been announced, however Disney CEO Bob Iger has stated that the official date will be announced in "early 2015

The Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA) has been fined $40,000 Hong Kong dollars ($5,160; £3,400) by Fifa after its fans booed the Chinese national anthem during a match last month.
An object was also thrown onto the pitch during the World Cup qualifier against Qatar.
Fifa, football's governing body, previously warned the HKFA over booing.
The anthem has been shared by Hong Kong and mainland China since the former returned to Beijing's control in 1997.
But anti-Beijing feeling has increased in Hong Kong in the wake of large protests last year against central government plans to impose candidate lists for elections in the territory.
Noting that the object thrown onto the pitch, thought to have been a carton of lemon tea, was an aggravating factor in the punishment, spokeswoman for the HKFA Sarah Lee said: "We will try our best to avoid such incidents in future."
"We don't plan to punish fans. What we'll focus on is to encourage them not to boo," Ms Lee added, stressing that the football association wanted to encourage a positive atmosphere in which fans cheered the home team.
A statement by the HKFA said Fifa has warned it that "any further infringements will lead to more severe sanctions," asking fans to "refrain from such action at all future matches" to avoid additional punishment.
The association previously said that it would be "disappointed" if Fifa punished them for the booing on 8 September, which it later blamed on "a small minority of fans".
Hong Kong's next international match is against Myanmar on 7 November, followed by a home game against mainland China on 17 November - likely to be of particular concern to organisers given the tensions involved.

The only way to stop the terrorist advance in Syria is to cooperate with the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and that is why Russia has launched its first airstrikes against Islamic State extremists in Syria, a Russian military expert said on Wednesday.
The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed Wednesday that Russia has started carrying out airstrikes against IS positions in Syria after the country's parliament voted to allow President Vladimir Putin to send air forces to the country.
Alexander Rutskoi, a major general in the Russian Air Force who has been awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union, said the operation's goal is exclusively to provide air support to the Syrian government forces in their fight against IS terrorists.
"We have responded to the request of Syria's legitimate president Assad to provide military assistance to the Syrian government. But it's not necessary to use ground forces because Assad's troops are capable of fighting. What he needs is support in the air. For now we are mainly sending attack troops and group air troops to carry out targeted strikes against strongholds and bases in remote areas in Syria," he said.
Rutskoi stressed that Russia is against all forms of terrorism and that the only way to check the IS advance is to cooperate with the Assad administration.
"The situation right now is that if we don't support Assad, another country will continue to create chaos in Syria and Islamic terrorism will spread to the whole world," he said.
He also said the Syria crisis can only be solved through political negotiation.

Kung Fu Dunk (traditional Chinese: 功夫灌籃; simplified Chinese: 功夫灌篮; pinyin: Gōngfū Guànlán), also known by its former title Slam Dunk, is a 2008 Chinese-language action comedy film. It was directed by Taiwanese director Chu Yin-Ping and filmed in Taiwan and mainland China. The film was previously titled Slam Dunk, but later the title has been changed to avoid confusion with the Slam Dunk manga and anime series[1] which it was roughly based on despite the film itself having no association whatsoever. The filming, however, conveyed a strong flavour of Hong Kong films, reminiscent of movies like Shaolin Soccer. Famed for his sharp business acumen and knack for perfectly timed investments, Hong Kong billionaire Li Ka-shing is shifting away from a slowing Chinese economy and bargain hunting in Europe.
The move is seen as a quest for stability for the tycoon's vast empire and a sign of diminishing confidence in the region.
Li's holdings are embodied in a striking 63-storey glass skyscraper in the heart of Hong Kong and his business decisions have the potential to affect property and utility prices for the city's seven million residents.
But his focus is now switching to European and other foreign markets.
The announcement just over a week ago that he plans to buy UK phone giant O2 for up to $15.4 billion follows prolonged asset offloading in mainland China and Hong Kong -- and a major reshuffle of his business empire announced last month.
The 86-year-old, dubbed "Superman", dismissed talk of a withdrawal from the region as "a big joke" last year.
But analysts say that his moves are a reaction to the China slowdown as well as political turmoil in Hong Kong.
Pro-democracy protests brought parts of the city to a standstill for more than two months last year, with demands Beijing grant more freedoms in the city's next leadership vote in 2017.
"They (Li's companies) are worried about the slowing down of economic growth in China, and also the political stability in Hong Kong," financial analyst Castor Pang told AFP.
"The concern about economic growth seems to be the major reason for them to make such dramatic moves during recent months."

Why China Is "The World's Factory"
Question: What do Lightening McQueen, a Nike sneaker and an iPad have in common? Answer: China. Chinese products seem to be everywhere: the majority of tags, labels and stickers display the legend “Made in China.” The Western consumer may ask, “why is everything made in China?” Some may think the ubiquity of Chinese products is due to the abundance of cheap Chinese labor that brings down the production costs, but there is much more to it. Here are five reasons China is "the world's factory.”
Lower Wages
China is home to approximately 1.35 billion people, which makes it the most populous country in the world. The law of supply and demand tells us that since the supply of workers is greater than the demand for low-wage workers, wages stay low. Moreover, the majority of Chinese were rural and lower-middle-class or poor and until the late 20th century when internal migration turned the country's rural-urban distribution upside-down. Immigrants to industrial cities are willing to work many shifts for low wages.
China doesn’t follow (not strictly at least) laws related to child labor or minimum wages, which are more widely observed in the West. However, this situation may change. According to the China Labour Bulletin, from 2009 to 2014 minimum wages have almost doubled in mainland China. Shanghai’s minimum hourly rate is now up to 17 yuan ($2.78) per hour or 1,820 yuan ($297.15) a month. In Shenzhen the rate is 1,808 yuan per month ($295.19) and 16.50 yuan ($2.69) per hour based on an exchange rate of 1 yuan = $0.16. The huge labor pool in China helps to produce in bulk, accommodate any seasonal industry requirement, and even cater to sudden rises in the demand schedule.
Business Ecosystem
Industrial production does not take place in isolation, but rather relies on networks of suppliers, component manufacturers, distributors, government agencies and customers who are all involved in the process of production through competition and cooperation. The business ecosystem in China has evolved quite a lot in the last thirty years. For example Shenzhen, a city bordering Hong Kong in the south-east, has evolved as a hub for the electronics industry. It has a cultivated an ecosystem to support the manufacturing supply chain, including component manufacturers, low cost workers, a technical workforce, assembly suppliers and customers.
For example, American companies like Apple Inc. (AAPL) take advantages of supply chain efficiencies in the Mainland to keep costs low and margins high. Foxconn (the main company which manufactures Apple products) has multiple suppliers and manufactures of components that are at nearby locations, and it would be economically unfeasible to take the components to U.S. to assemble the final product.
Lesser Compliance
Manufacturers in the West are expected to comply with certain basic guidelines with regards to child labor, involuntary labor, health and safety norms, wage and hour laws, and protection of the environment. Chinese factories are known for not following most of these laws and guidelines, even in a permissive regulatory environment. Chinese factories employ child labor, have long shift hours and the workers are not provided with compensation insurance. Some factories even have policies where the workers are paid once a year, a strategy to keep them from quitting before the year is out. Environmental protection laws are routinely ignored, thus Chinese factories cut down on waste management costs. According to a World Bank report in 2013, sixteen of the world’s top twenty most polluted cities are in China.
Taxes and Duties
The export tax rebate policy was initiated in 1985 by China as a way to boost the competitiveness of its exports by abolishing double taxation on exported goods. Exported goods are subject to zero percent value added tax (VAT), meaning they enjoy a VAT exemption or rebate policy. On the other hand, the U.S. doesn’t have a VAT and import taxes are only applicable to certain goods like tobacco and alcohol. Consumer products from China are exempted from any import taxes. Lower tax rates help to keep the cost of production low.

wn.com/Keiser Report China Mainland Msm Myths (E704)
In this episode of the Keiser Report, Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert, back in the London studio, have brought Paul Schulte back with them from Hong Kong. Paul is an author, analyst and professor, who debunks the myths in the Western media about mainland China and how it is that Chris Patten, the former governor of Hong Kong, set in motion the problems we see today in the streets of the former British dependent territory. In the second half, Max speaks to WilliamBanzai7, the artist for the financial apocalypse now, who features on Zerohedge.com. They discuss the Umbrella Revolution and what inspires his art.
