It was brought by Augustinian Recollects in May 3, 1606 in Bagumbayan (Luneta) though the use of the Galleon Ship, from Acapulco, Mexico to the soil of the Philippine Republic. But was burned turning the original complexity to dark ( thats why its called Black) Also survived miraculously of the many natural disasters, including World War 2. Millions pay hompage to the Image of Jesus Christ carrying a cross, kneeling position. Some say this holds a cure for the people's problem's, health for example. Although Heat, Pain and Hugryness, Filipinos will try to stay as long as they can to get close to the Image. Hoping to have a Blessing or a miracle from the Sky above.
