1) Sun Moon Lake (日月潭) - We took the bus from Taichung to Sun Moon Lake early in the morning. There are a lot of buses that get there but if you’re confident enough, the best mode of transport might be by car/van!
2) We immediately got approached by a lot of tour boat companies when we got off our bus. There are plenty of options but they provide more or less the same services. Sun Moon Lake is comprised of 3 different islands and there are different things to do on each of them. The boats run around the different islands and are pretty frequent. The company we went for is called the Harbour Resort Yacht Sun Moon Lake Taiwan (日月潭碼頭遊航公司)
3) Tea Leaf Egg (50年阿婆茶葉蛋) - Tea Leaf Eggs are very popular in Taiwan and this particular shop uses ingredients found around Sun Moon Lake in their recipe. It’s very popular amongst locals and tourists and is a must try!
4) Sun Moon Lake Cable Car Station (日月潭纜車站) - When you get the tickets for the cable car, there’s an option to buy it as a package where tickets for the Formosan Aboriginal Cultural Village (九族文化村) are included.
5) Formosan Aboriginal Cultural Village (九族文化村) - It is known as an amusement park and an educational centre for the aboriginal culture of Taiwan. I recommend that you visit this village as soon as you arrive at Sun Moon Lake because there is a lot to see and it closes a lot earlier than most of the other shops and attractions around the lake!
6) FengJia Night Market (逢甲夜市) - The biggest and the most popular night market in Taichung with a lot of awesome and delicious street food!

Sun Moon Lake
Sun Moon Lake (Chinese: 日月潭; pinyin: Rìyuètán; Wade–Giles: Jih4-yüeh4-t'an2; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Ji̍t-goa̍t-thâm; Zintun in the Thao language, also Lake Candidus) is the largest body of water in Taiwan as well as a tourist attraction. Situated in Yuchi Township, Nantou County, the area around the Sun Moon Lake is home to the Thao tribe, one of aboriginal tribes in Taiwan. Sun Moon Lake surrounds a tiny island called Lalu. The east side of the lake resembles a sun while the west side resembles a moon, hence the name.
Overview
Sun Moon Lake is located 748 m (2,454 ft) above sea level. It is 27 m (89 ft) deep and has a surface area of approximately 7.93 km2 (3.06 sq mi). The area surrounding the lake has many trails for hiking.
While swimming in Sun Moon Lake is usually not permitted, there is an annual 3-km race called the Swimming Carnival of Sun Moon Lake held around the Mid-Autumn Festival each year. In recent years the participants have numbered in the tens of thousands. Other festivities held at the same time include fireworks, laser shows, and concerts.

Final travel vlog this time round! Had such an amazing time travelling with my mum and went to one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to in my life! - Sun Moon Lake! Places featured in this vlog: (Travel Gudie)
1) Sun Moon Lake (日月潭) - We took the bus from Taichung to Sun Moon Lake early in the morning. There are a lot of buses that get there but if you’re confident enough, the best mode of transport might be by car/van!
2) We immediately got approached by a lot of tour boat companies when we got off our bus. There are plenty of options but they provide more or less the same services. Sun Moon Lake is comprised of 3 different islands and there are different things to do on each of them. The boats run around the different islands and are pretty frequent. The company we went for is called the Harbour Resort Yacht Sun Moon Lake Taiwan (日月潭碼頭遊航公司)
3) Tea Leaf Egg (50年阿婆茶葉蛋) - Tea Leaf Eggs are very popular in Taiwan and this particular shop uses ingredients found around Sun Moon Lake in their recipe. It’s very popular amongst locals and tourists and is a must try!
4) Sun Moon Lake Cable Car Station (日月潭纜車站) - When you get the tickets for the cable car, there’s an option to buy it as a package where tickets for the Formosan Aboriginal Cultural Village (九族文化村) are included.
5) Formosan Aboriginal Cultural Village (九族文化村) - It is known as an amusement park and an educational centre for the aboriginal culture of Taiwan. I recommend that you visit this village as soon as you arrive at Sun Moon Lake because there is a lot to see and it closes a lot earlier than most of the other shops and attractions around the lake!
6) FengJia Night Market (逢甲夜市) - The biggest and the most popular night market in Taichung with a lot of awesome and delicious street food!

Second vlog from Taiwan! Had an awesome time hanging out with my mum and enjoying the natural scenery Cinjing and Taiwan has to offer! We finally got to see the sunrise and also had some extremely delicious street food :)

1) Cinjing (清境) - We spent two days in Cinjing in total. Be sure to watch part 1 of my Taiwan vlog series to find out more about this gorgeous place!
2) Taroko National Park (太魯閣國家公園) - We made a stop here on the way to see the sunrise to see some beautiful stars in the sky!
3) Wuling (武嶺) - This was where we got a great view of the sunrise at 3,275 meters above sea level!
4) Travelled back to TaiChung (台中) via a van we organised at our hotel. You can easily get a private van to take you around in Taiwan. They’re relatively easy to organise and cheap! Just speak to the reception at the hotel you’re staying at!
5) Yizhong street ( 一中商圈) - This is where we got amazing street food!

The boats begin in small Shueishe and make two stops: a Pagoda built by Chiang Kai-shek in memory of his mother; and Itathao, the main town for Thao aborigines.
