Putrajaya an "Intelligent Garden City" and the federal administrative capital of Malaysia, is a showcase city under construction some 30 km south of the capital Kuala Lumpur.
Perdana Putra Perdana Putra houses the main administrative offices of the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Ministers and Deputy Ministers in the Prime Minister's Department, Chief Secretary to the Government as well as the Special Units. It features striking green domes and its main block is decorated with stone carvings and wrought iron with motifs of the bunga raya or hibiscus, the national flower. A combination of islamic and Mogul architecture, this majestic structure overlooks the picturesque Lake Putrajaya.
The stately Putra Mosque is one of Putrajaya's most famous landmarks. It has a unique pink dome which is constructed from rose-tinted granite and comprises of a prayer hall, the sahn or courtyard, learming facilities and function rooms. The mosque accommodates 15,000 worshippers and boasts a 116-metre, five-tiered minaret, the tallest in the region.
Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC). The design of the convention centre was inspired the traditional pending perak (silver royal belt buckle) and wau bulan (moon kite). It covers a total floor area of about 135,000m2 over nine levels and its Plenary Hall can accommodate approximately 3,000 delegates. Equipped with modern facilities, it has all the required facilities to host international and regional conventions, exhibitions and private functions.
The 300-metre circular Dataran Putra has concentric stars representing the states of Malaysia and is adorned with light and water features. The highlight here is the Chahar Baghs or the recreation of Eden with its four quadrants and four rivers. Serving as a unique transition between the ceremonial area and the parks, the Chahar Baghs is a carefully arranged interplay of paths, water channels, trees and flowerbeds.
When fully completed, eight unique and distinctive bridges featuring six varieties of designs-beam, arch, suspension, cable-stayed, truss and cantilever-will link the various precincts in Putrajaya. Bridges which connect to the Goverrnment Precinct serve ceremonial purposes and are decorated with regalia, flags and lighting during official state functions. Among the seven bridges which have been completed are the Putra Bridge, Seri Wawasan Bridge, Seri Gemilang Bridge, Seri Bakti Bridge, Seri Saujana Bridge, Seri Setia Bridge and Seri Bestari Bridge.

This is a Kuala Lumpur travel video showcasing our favorite things to do along with what we consider to be the top attractions in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. From this travel video guide you should get an idea of an itinerary or schedule you can plan activities around while based in KL.
We first venture off to marvel at the magnificent Petronas Towers. These otherworldly towers are the most impressive buildings I've ever seen in my entire life. They don't look like they belong on planet earth. Equally as impressive during the day as they are at night, I recommend visiting the towers frequently and scouting out various vantage points to take photos.
Next we tour around the Independence Square (Merdeka Square) located nearby Chinatown. The impressive architecture and enormous flag are standout features. If you come early enough you can beat the tourist buses and at night the buildings really shine.
No trip to Kuala Lumpur would be complete without hopping on and off the LRT sky train. At night we took a ride and captured some high speed footage. You get a glimpse of the Petronas Towers before we head into the tunnels.
Just 13 km north of KL is a special Hindu Shrine called the Batu Caves. Dedicated to Lord Murugan it's a wonderful free attraction worth exploring. While visiting you'll notice your share of cheeky monkeys roaming about.
Finally for breakfast, lunch or dinner consider having roti canai (flat bread) along with curry. My personal favorite is banana roti along with watermelon juice.

Putrajaya is a planned city, located 25 km south of Kuala Lumpur, that serves as the federal administrative centre of Malaysia. The seat of government was shifted in 1999 from Kuala Lumpur to Putrajaya, due to the overcrowding and congestion in the Kuala Lumpur areas. Nevertheless, Kuala Lumpur remains Malaysia's national capital, being the seat of the King and Parliament, as well as the country's commercial and financial centre. Putrajaya was the brainchild of former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad. In 2001, Putrajaya became Malaysia's third Federal Territory after Kuala Lumpur and Labuan.
Named after the first Malaysian Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra, the city is situated within the Multimedia Super Corridor, beside the recently developed Cyberjaya. In sanskrit, the words "putra" or "putera" means "prince" or "male child," and "jaya" means "success" or "victory." The development of Putrajaya started in early 1990s, and today major landmarks have been completed and the population is expected to grow in the near future.

We have always heard that Langkawi, Malaysia, is a beautiful island that you must see. So we decided we had to check it out for ourselves. The first night we landed it was raining and dreary, but the next two days were stellar. The beaches are far cleaner than those of Thailand, and the water is a beautiful aqua color.
We rented a motorbike for a day which was ridiculously easy to rent. We were in and out of the shop in less that 5 minutes, and the cost was 30 Ringgit or about $9USD. We drove the entire island which was beautiful. Renting a motorbike allowed us to get to the Jetty, The Worlds Steepest Cable Car as well as an Arabian Horse Stud Farm. We highly recommend having your own transportation anywhere you're traveling because it opens up so many more doors.
The Worlds Steepest Cable car was just as thrilling as you would imagine. If you are afraid of Heights, this is definitely going to test your nerves.
