Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin led a delegation to Shanghai on Tuesday to take part in a two-city summit. While there he signed a cooperation memorandum. Joining Hau were local business luminaries such as Hon Hai Chairman Terry Gou and Far Eastern Group Chairman Douglas Hsu. Also included in the group was Sean Lien, a potential candidate for mayor of Taipei who is best known for being the son of KMT Honorary Chairman Lien Chan. Sean Lien is currently deputy convener of the city's Economic Development Commission.

During a radio interview, he said that if elected, he would use his chairmanship to transfer party power to talented individuals.
