Prisoner Correspondence Project – a support project for gay, queer, and trans prisoners

The Prisoner Correspondence Project is a collectively-run initiative based out of Montreal, Quebec. It coordinates a direct-correspondence program for gay, lesbian, transsexual, transgender, gendervariant, two-spirit, intersex, bisexual and queer inmates in Canada and the United States, linking these inmates with people a part of these same communities outside of prison.

We are always looking for new non-incarcerated folks to become penpals! If you are interested, check out the get involved section of the website and then get in touch.

Each year, we send cards into all of our inside members to try to brighten their holidays. We fund it through selling the same cards for a modest fee to those outside.

This year’s edition is a charming window scene on a purple background, designed by our long-time member Noam Lapid.

Cards are available for a sliding scale of $5-10 for a pack of five cards (blank inside) that come with envelopes. For those not in Montreal and who need them mailed, we ask that you add $1 for postage in Canada, or $2 for postage outside.
