Soak 3/4 cup of Quinoa in 2 cups of water (cover) for up to 8 hrs.
Drain, rinse and put into your food processor.

Rainbow Quinoa Salad
1 cup quinoa
2 cups vegetable broth
1 cup corn
2 carrots, grated
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
1 cup red cabbage, shredded
1 cup broccoli florets
¼ cup olive oil
3 tbsp white wine vinegar
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp honey
salt and pepper
In a medium saucepan, combine quinoa and vegetable broth. Bring it to a boil.
Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
Turn off heat and allow quinoa to sit for 5-10 minutes.
Allow quinoa to cool completely.
In a large bowl combine cooled quinoa with corn, carrots, cherry tomatoes, red cabbage and broccoli florets.
In a small bowl whisk olive oil, white wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, honey, salt and pepper.
Pour dressing over salad and stir until it’s evenly dressed.
Store in the refrigerator for 4-5 days.
Enjoy!

Dress with olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper.

One Pan Mexican Quinoa
1 cup quinoa
1 can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 can corn, drained
1 red bell pepper, finely diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 jalapeno, minced (optional)
1 cup salsa
1½ cup vegetable broth
1 lime
fresh cilantro to taste
In a large skillet combine quinoa, black beans, corn, red bell pepper, garlic, jalapeno, salsa and vegetable broth.
Stir well and bring mixture to a boil.
Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes or until liquid is all absorbed.
Turn off heat and all quinoa to sit for an additional 5 minutes.
Finish with fresh lime juice and freshly chopped cilantro.
Store in the refrigerator for 4-5 days.

In a large skillet combine quinoa, black beans, corn, red bell pepper, garlic, jalapeno, salsa and vegetable broth.
Stir well and bring mixture to a boil.
Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes or until liquid is all absorbed.
Turn off heat and all quinoa to sit for an additional 5 minutes.
Finish with fresh lime juice and freshly chopped cilantro.
Store in the refrigerator for 4-5 days.

Spring is in the air and outdoor meals are on my brain, so I’ve partnered with @PureLeafIcedTea to bring you this Quinoa Tabouli Salad w/ Garbanzo Beans + Feta Cheese. Quinoa Tabouli Salad with Feta & Garbanzo Beans
Yield: 4-6 Servings
Ingredients:
2 cups cooked quinoa
½ cup chopped scallions
¼ cup fresh chopped mint
½ cup fresh chopped parsley
1 cup Persian cucumbers, chopped
1 cup garbanzo beans
2 cloves of minced garlic
¼ cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 large tomato, diced
2 oz crumbled feta cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Process:
Combine quinoa, scallions, mint, parsley, cucumbers, and garbanzo beans in a large bowl.
In a separate bowl, (I like to use a spouted Pyrex cup) whisk together the garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil. Season with salt and pepper and then pour over the quinoa mixture, combine well.
Gently toss in the tomato and feta cheese. Enjoy!
Storage Tip: Keeping fresh herbs rolled in a damp paper towel and sealed in a plastic bag in the fridge will keep it fresh for almost 2 weeks.

Line a cookie sheet with Parchment paper and lightly spray.
Spread your Quinoa mixture evenly into a Pizza crust shape.
Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes
Remove from oven/carefully flip it over and Bake an additional 5 to 10 more minutes.
Top with your favorite toppings - Chicken, Vegan, BBQ - it's up to you!
Tonight, we made our own Pizza sauce using:
One can of Crushed Tomatos ( or Pureed)
1Tablespoon of Olive oil
1 heaping teaspoon of Tuscan Seasoning
Pinch of Salt & Pepper
Let that come to a slight boil and turn down your heat. Let simmer for at least 30 minutes uncovered, stirring occasionally. This will cook down and thicken up.

Hey there!
It's your muscle coach Lee Hayward, back in the kitchen for another bodybuilding cooking video. Today I'm going to cook chicken and quinoa in bulk.
Whenever you are making your meals, you should always try to cook for several meals in advance. It doesn't take any more time to bake several chicken breasts at a time than it does to bake one chicken breast at a time. It doesn't take any longer to cook up a big batch of quinoa than it does to make a small batch.
So why not save yourself time in the kitchen by cooking larger quantities for several meals in one shot and simply store the left overs in the refrigerator to re-heat later on.
The great thing about having food prepared ahead of time is that it helps prevent the temptations to cheat on your diet. There's nothing worse for your bodybuilding diet than feeling hungry and not having any nutritious food ready to eat. When your belly is growling it's hard to make healthy food choices. This often leads to snacking on junk food or trips to the drive through. But when you plan ahead you can prevent this from happening.
To cook chicken in bulk I recommend baking it in the over on a baking sheet. Just line the baking sheet with aluminum foil to make clean up easier. Spray the foil with non-stick cooking spray. And lay out your chicken breasts on the sheet. Season them with your choice of spices. I like to use salt, pepper, along with garlic and herb seasoning.
Bake in the oven at 350 F (180 C) for 10 minutes. Then flip the chicken and bake for another 5 minutes. This will just slightly "under-cook" the chicken which is actually what you want when preparing food in advance.
By NOT fully cooking your chicken you won't dry it out, and then when you re-heat the chicken for a future meal, you'll fully cook the chicken while keeping it moist and tender.
You can apply this tip for all meats that you cook in advance. Purpose under-cook them just a little bit so that you don't dry them out when re-heating them.
As for the quinoa, just mix it up as per the directions, usually a 2 to 1 ratio of water to quinoa, and bring it to a vigorous boil. Then just turn it off and leave it covered so it will continue to cook in its own steam. This will prevent the quinoa from burning and sticking on to the bottom of the pot.
In the past I used to try and leave it on low heat to simmer on the stove, but more often than not it would end up burning and sticking to the bottom of the pot. However, just boiling it vigorously and then turning it off altogether works great. Granted it may take a little longer overall to fully cook, but you can just leave the pot unattended with no worries of your food burning.
Give these cooking tips a try the next time you are cooking in bulk and it should make for tastier meals with less hassle :-)

Whenever you are making your meals, you should always try to cook for several meals in advance. It doesn't take any more time to bake several chicken breasts at a time than it does to bake one chicken breast at a time. It doesn't take any longer to cook up a big batch of quinoa than it does to make a small batch.
So why not save yourself time in the kitchen by cooking larger quantities for several meals in one shot and simply store the left overs in the refrigerator to re-heat later on.
The great thing about having food prepared ahead of time is that it helps prevent the temptations to cheat on your diet. There's nothing worse for your bodybuilding diet than feeling hungry and not having any nutritious food ready to eat. When your belly is growling it's hard to make healthy food choices. This often leads to snacking on junk food or trips to the drive through. But when you plan ahead you can prevent this from happening.
To cook chicken in bulk I recommend baking it in the over on a baking sheet. Just line the baking sheet with aluminum foil to make clean up easier. Spray the foil with non-stick cooking spray. And lay out your chicken breasts on the sheet. Season them with your choice of spices. I like to use salt, pepper, along with garlic and herb seasoning.
Bake in the oven at 350 F (180 C) for 10 minutes. Then flip the chicken and bake for another 5 minutes. This will just slightly "under-cook" the chicken which is actually what you want when preparing food in advance.
By NOT fully cooking your chicken you won't dry it out, and then when you re-heat the chicken for a future meal, you'll fully cook the chicken while keeping it moist and tender.
You can apply this tip for all meats that you cook in advance. Purpose under-cook them just a little bit so that you don't dry them out when re-heating them.
As for the quinoa, just mix it up as per the directions, usually a 2 to 1 ratio of water to quinoa, and bring it to a vigorous boil. Then just turn it off and leave it covered so it will continue to cook in its own steam. This will prevent the quinoa from burning and sticking on to the bottom of the pot.
In the past I used to try and leave it on low heat to simmer on the stove, but more often than not it would end up burning and sticking to the bottom of the pot. However, just boiling it vigorously and then turning it off altogether works great. Granted it may take a little longer overall to fully cook, but you can just leave the pot unattended with no worries of your food burning.
Give these cooking tips a try the next time you are cooking in bulk and it should make for tastier meals with less hassle :-)

A semente é o resultado da fecundação que vai gerar uma nova planta, e grão é o nome que damos as sementes que consumimos como alimento. " Fonte: Paleo Estilo de vida.
Para fins mais didático: Segundo o Wikipedia, Grão ou Cereais são as plantas cultivadas por seus frutos (do tipo cariopse) comestíveis, normalmente chamados grãos e são na maior parte gramíneas, compondo uma família com mais de 6 mil espécies. Sementes é o óvulo maduro e já fecundado das plantas gimnospermas ou angiospermas. É formada por: tegumento ou casca; embrião; endosperma (que o envolve).
