SUPER FAST stealth attack boat for the US military and Navy
Another great idea for the us military and us navy . This fast attack stealth boat will make a difference. GHOST is a super-cavitating surface craft which is able to achieve 900 times less hull friction compared to a conventional watercraft and is developed by US Citizens for the US Navy at no cost to the US government for providing superior protection to US service personnel. The craft was built by Juliet Marine Systems. The secrecy orders on the project were removed on 11 August 2011[1]
Design
The Ghost uses a gyro-stabilized dual-pontoon supercavitating hull to run at top speed through 10-foot seas. Called small waterplane-area twin-hull (SWATH), it is controlled by 22 computer-controlled underwater control surfaces. When at rest or moving slowly, the Ghost sits in the water on its centerline module. At eight knots or faster, the high-grade marine aluminum buoyant hulls lift the vessel and achieve full stability. Propulsion on the prototype is provided by T53-703 turboshaft engines, with the company planning to replace them with the General Electric T700 turboshaft. The Ghost has achieved speeds of over 30 knots, and is being tested to 50 knots. It can perform several different missions including anti-surface warfare (ASuW), anti-submarine warfare (ASW), and mine countermeasures (MCM): ASuW armament consists of the M197 20mm rotary cannon and launch tubes that expel exhaust downward between the struts of the SWATH hulls, concealing and dissipating the thermal signature of the launch for BGM-176B Griffin missiles and Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System rockets, with an electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensor and radar; an ASW version could be equipped with an EO/IR sensor, radar, sonobuoy launch tubes, a dipping sonar, and four aft-firing torpedo tubes; an MCM version could be equipped with a towing boom to lower and raise two towed mine-hunting sonars, such as the Kline 5000 or Raytheon AN/AQS-20A. The current Ghost costs $10 million per copy, is crewed by 3-5 sailors, and can be partially disassembled to fit in a C-17 Globemaster III for transport if needed. It is designed for fleet protection for navies with few blue-water needs but require a small and affordable craft in large numbers for near-shore maritime border patrol and defense missions; it is being offered to international customers including Bahrain, Qatar, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, and Singapore. High-level discussions have been held with a foreign nation interested in 25 Ghosts for a potential $300 million sale. Juliet Marine is also offering a scaled-up version of the Ghost to the U.S. Navy as part of their re-evaluation of the Littoral Combat Ship program. Plans are to build a corvette-sized Ghost of 150 ft (46 m) in length or more costing about $50 million per vessel, six times cheaper than the $300 million per-ship cost of a current Freedom-class and Independence-class littoral combat ship. One impediment to the U.S. Navy procuring the Ghost is the desire of senior Navy leaders to have large-hulled oceangoing vessels that can also perform inshore operations rather than smaller craft specialized for inshore missions.[2][3]
Juliet Marine Systems is a maritime technology think tank that is developing innovative solutions for naval and commercial applications. We seek to assure fleet force protection in response to small vessel terrorist attacks against our Navy and coalition ships. There is a clear and present danger of these tactics being used against the U.S. Navy throughout the world and in our home ports. These same innovative technologies, applied to commercial needs, will provide a significant decrease in transit time and increase in energy efficiency, resulting in the savings of thousands of gallons of fuel daily.
Our Navy is in a revolutionary period of change. Historic military tactics combined with modern materials and technology present a formidable fleet protection challenge for our Navy today. One of the greatest threats to our Navy is low tech vessel attacks with conventional explosives, as seen on October 12, 2000, when the USS Cole was attacked, killing 17 sailors and wounding 39 others and in the continued success of pirates. As a maritime systems think tank, Juliet Marine Systems provides offensive, defensive and ISR solutions that are developed in a skunk works operation able to rapidly invent and construct needed technologies and systems for the Navy and armed forces. We have already developed a surface variant of a super cavitating craft and are planning to apply our unique technology in a UUV prototype.
While the GHOST is a surface vessel, the hydrodynamics of the twin submerged buoyant tubular foils are also a test bed for Juliet Marine's next planned prototype, a long duration UUV. The GHOST is a revolutionary proprietary technology vessel platform that will assure force protection through stealth fighter/attack capabilities along with integrated situation awareness.

The SEALs' duty is to conduct small-unit maritime military operations which originate from, and return to a river, ocean, swamp, delta, or coastline. "SEAL" is always capitalized in reference to members of the Naval Special Warfare community. The Navy SEALs are trained to operate in all environments (Sea, Air, and Land) for which they are named. SEALs are also prepared to operate in a variety of climates, such as desert, arctic, and jungle.
All SEALs are male members of the United States Navy. The CIA's highly secretive Special Activities Division (SAD) and more specifically its elite Special Operations Group (SOG) recruits operators from the SEAL Teams. Joint Navy SEALs and CIA operations go back to the famed MACV-SOG during the Vietnam War. This cooperation still exists today and is seen in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Naval aviation safety film includes Douglas A-4 Skyhawk footage, and clips of several bad landing crashes, including several carrier landing crashes (a Grumman F9F Panther, a Douglas A-1 Skyraider, formerly AD Skyraider, and two Vought F7U Cutlass crashes, one on land and one on the USS Hancock in 1955).

Public domain film from the US Navy, slightly cropped to remove uneven edges, with the aspect ratio corrected, and mild video noise reduction applied.
The soundtrack was also processed with volume normalization, noise reduction, clipping reduction, and/or equalization (the resulting sound, though not perfect, is far less noisy than the original).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grumman_F9F_Panther
The Grumman F9F Panther was the manufacturer's first jet fighter and one of the United States Navy's first successful carrier-based jet fighters. A single-engined, straight-winged day fighter, it was fitted with an armament of four 20 mm (0.79 in) cannons and could carry a wide assortment of air-to-ground munitions.
The Panther was used extensively by the U.S. Navy and the United States Marine Corps in the Korean War. It was also the first jet aircraft used by the Blue Angels flight team, being used by them from 1949 through to late 1954. The aircraft was exported to Argentina and was the first jet used by the Argentine Naval Aviation.
Total F9F production was 1,382. The design evolved into the swept wing Grumman F-9 Cougar...
The Douglas A-1 Skyraider (formerly AD) was an American single-seat attack aircraft that saw service between the late 1940s and early 1980s. The Skyraider had a remarkably long and successful career; it became a piston-powered, propeller-driven anachronism in the jet age, and was nicknamed "Spad", after the French World War I fighter.
It was operated by the United States Navy (USN), the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and the United States Air Force (USAF), and also saw service with the British Royal Navy, the French Air Force, the Air Force of the Republic of Vietnam (VNAF), and others. In U.S. service it was finally replaced by the LTV A-7 Corsair II swept wing subsonic jet in the early 1970s...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vought_F7U_Cutlass
The Vought F7U Cutlass was a United States Navy carrier-based jet fighter and fighter-bomber of the early Cold War era. It was a highly unusual, semi-tailless design, allegedly based on aerodynamic data and plans captured from the German Arado company at the end of World War II, though Vought designers denied any link to the German research at the time. The F7U was the last aircraft designed by Rex Beisel, who was responsible for the first fighter ever designed specifically for the U.S. Navy, the Curtiss TS-1 of 1922.
Regarded as a radical departure from traditional aircraft design, the Cutlass suffered from numerous technical and handling problems throughout its short service career. The type was responsible for the deaths of four test pilots and 21 other U.S. Navy pilots. Over one quarter of all Cutlasses built were destroyed in accidents. The poor safety record was largely the result of the advanced design built to apply new aerodynamic theories and insufficiently powerful, unreliable engines...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_A-4_Skyhawk
The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk is a single seat carrier-capable attack aircraft developed for the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps. The delta winged, single-engined Skyhawk was designed and produced by Douglas Aircraft Company, and later by McDonnell Douglas. It was originally designated A4D under the U.S. Navy's pre-1962 designation system.
The Skyhawk is a lightweight aircraft with a maximum takeoff weight of 24,500 pounds (11,100 kg) and has a top speed of more than 600 miles per hour (970 km/h). The aircraft's five hardpoints support a variety of missiles, bombs and other munitions and were capable of delivering nuclear weapons using a low altitude bombing system and a "loft" delivery technique. The A-4 was originally powered by the Wright J65 turbojet engine; from the A-4E onwards, the Pratt & Whitney J52 was used.
Skyhawks played key roles in the Vietnam War, the Yom Kippur War, and the Falklands War. Sixty years after the aircraft's first flight, some of the nearly 3,000 produced remain in service with several air arms around the world, including from the Brazilian Navy's aircraft carrier, São Paulo...

The Russian Navy (Russian: Военно-морской Флот Российской Федерации (ВМФ России), tr. Voyenno-morskoy Flot Rossiyskoy Federatsii (VMF Rossii), lit. Military-Maritime Fleet of the Russian Federation) is the naval arm of the Russian military. The present Russian Navy was formed in January 1992, succeeding the Navy of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which had itself succeeded the Soviet Navy following the dissolution of the Soviet Union in December 1991.
The regular Russian Navy was established by Peter the Great (Peter I) in October 1696. Ascribed to Peter I is the oft quoted statement: "A ruler that has but an army has one hand, but he who has a navy has both." The symbols of the Russian Navy, the St. Andrew's flag and ensign (seen to the right), and most of its traditions were established personally by Peter I.
Neither Jane's Fighting Ships nor the International Institute for Strategic Studies list any standard ship prefixs for the vessels of the Russian Navy. For official U.S. Navy photographs, they are sometimes referred to as "RFS" — "Russian Federation Ship". However, the Russian Navy does not use this convention for itself.
The Russian Navy possesses the vast majority of the former Soviet naval forces, and currently comprises the Northern Fleet, the Russian Pacific Fleet, the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the Russian Baltic Fleet, the Russian Caspian Flotilla, Naval Aviation, and the coastal troops (consisting of the naval infantry and the coastal missile and artillery troops).

U.S. Navy Develops Bulletproof Transparent Armor
The US Navy is building a transparent bulletproof armor for vehicles and face shield using a moldable material.
The US Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) is also working on lighter weight bulletproof windows, with the development of a new, moldable material. The material, spinel, which is more durable than glass, could significantly improve military defenses as it is produced for various uses.
“Spinel is actually a mineral; it’s magnesium aluminate,” said Dr. Jas Sanghera, the researcher leading the project. “The advantage is it’s so much tougher, stronger, and harder than glass. It provides better protection in more hostile environments—so it

The Chinese navy had put on a show of force to demonstrate Chinese military power to the US Navy and Obama. The People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN or PLA Navy) is the naval warfare branch of the People's Liberation Army, the national armed forces of the People's Republic of China. The PLAN can trace its lineage to naval units fighting during the Chinese Civil War and was established in September 1950. Throughout the 1950s and early 1960s the Soviet Union provided assistance to the PLAN in the form of naval advisers and export of equipment and technology.[4] Until the late 1980s, the PLAN was largely a riverine and littoral force (brown-water

It provides better protection in more hostile environments—so it can withstand sand and rain erosion. For weight-sensitive platforms-UAVs, head-mounted face shields—it’s a game-changing technology.” The NRL developed a method to make spinel, a gemstone that can be mined in a variety of colors, transparent and produce it in sheets. The low-temperature process, called sintering, uses a hot press to mold the material. The technology is scalable, limited only by the size and shape of the press.
Using shaped presses, such as a ball-and-socket press, the spinel can be made in to multiple shapes, such as a wing for an unmanned aerial vehicle. At the NRL, pieces were made 8 inches in diameter, but an outside company was able to use the technology to create much larger plates, so far up to 30 inches. “You put the powder in (a hot press), you press it under vacuum, squash this powder together—and if you can do that right, then you can get rid of all the entrapped air, and all of a sudden it comes out of there clear-looking,” Sanghera said.

Chinese Navy puts a SHOW OF FORCE for US Navy and Obama
The Chinese navy had put on a show of force to demonstrate Chinese military power to the US Navy and Obama. The People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN or PLA Navy) is the naval warfare branch of the People's Liberation Army, the national armed forces of the People's Republic of China. The PLAN can trace its lineage to naval units fighting during the Chinese Civil War and was established in September 1950. Throughout the 1950s and early 1960s the Soviet Union provided assistance to the PLAN in the form of naval advisers and export of equipment and technology.[4] Until the late 1980s, the PLAN was largely a riverine and littoral force (brown-water navy). However, by the 1990s, following the fall of the Soviet Union and a shift towards a more forward-oriented foreign and security policy, the leaders of the Chinese military were freed from worrying over land border disputes, and instead turned their attention towards the seas. This led to the development of the People's Liberation Army Navy into a green-water navy by 2009.[5] Before the 1990s the PLAN had traditionally played a subordinate role to the People's Liberation Army Ground Force.
In 2008, General Qian Lihua confirmed that China plans to operate a small fleet of aircraft carriers in the near future, but for the purpose of regional defence as opposed to "global reach".[6] As of 2013 PLA officials have also outlined plans to operate in the first and second island chains.[7] Chinese strategists term the development of the PLAN from a green-water navy into "a regional blue-water defensive and offensive navy."[8]
The People's Liberation Army Navy is composed of five branches; the People's Liberation Army Navy Submarine Force, the People's Liberation Army Navy Surface Force, the People's Liberation Army Navy Coastal Defense Force, the People's Liberation Army Marine Corps and the People's Liberation Army Naval Air Force.[9] With a personnel strength of 255,000[1][10] servicemen and women, including 10,000 marines and 26,000 naval air force personnel, it is the second largest navy in the world in terms of tonnage, behind only the United States Navy, and has the largest number of major combatants of any navy.
History
The PLAN traces its lineage to units of the Republic of China Navy who defected to the People's Liberation Army towards the end of the Chinese Civil War. In 1949, Mao Zedong asserted that "to oppose imperialist aggression, we must build a powerful navy". During the Landing Operation on Hainan Island, the communists used wooden junks fitted with mountain guns as both transport and warships against the Republic of China Navy. The Naval Academy was set up at Dalian on 22 November 1949, mostly with Soviet instructors. The navy was established in September 1950 by consolidating regional naval forces under General Staff Department command in Jiangyan, now in Taizhou, Jiangsu province. It then consisted of a motley collection of ships and boats acquired from the Kuomintang forces. The Naval Air Force was added two years later. By 1954 an estimated 2,500 Soviet naval advisers were in China—possibly one adviser to every thirty Chinese naval personnel—and the Soviet Union began providing modern ships. With Soviet assistance, the navy reorganized in 1954 and 1955 into the North Sea Fleet, East Sea Fleet, and South Sea Fleet, and a corps of admirals and other naval officers was established from the ranks of the ground forces. In shipbuilding the Soviets first assisted the Chinese, then the Chinese copied Soviet designs without assistance, and finally the Chinese produced vessels of their own design. Eventually Soviet assistance progressed to the point that a joint Sino-Soviet Pacific Ocean fleet was under discussion.
1950s and 1960s[edit]
Through the upheavals of the late 1950s and 1960s the Navy remained relatively undisturbed. Under the leadership of Minister of National Defense Lin Biao, large investments were made in naval construction during the frugal years immediately after the Great Leap Forward. During the Cultural Revolution, a number of top naval commissars and commanders were purged, and naval forces were used to suppress a revolt in Wuhan in July 1967, but the service largely avoided the turmoil affecting the country. Although it paid lip service to Mao and assigned political commissars aboard ships, the Navy continued to train, build, and maintain the fleets as well the coastal defense and aviation arms, as well as in the performance of its mission.
1970s and 1980s[edit]
In the 1970s, when approximately 20 percent of the defense budget was allocated to naval forces, the Navy grew dramatically. The conventional submarine force increased from 35 to 100 boats, the number of missile-carrying ships grew from 20 to 200, and the production of larger surface ships, including support ships for oceangoing operations, increased. The Navy also began development of nuclear attack submarines (SSN) and nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines (SSBN).

STORYLINE:
Israeli warplanes launched waves of bombings on south Beirut, on a Lebanese army base and on a coastal road north of the Lebanese capital in the early hours of Tuesday, witnesses and Lebanese media said.
The southern suburbs, a Hezbollah stronghold, have been repeatedly bombed since Israel launched a military offensive on Lebanon last Wednesday after the militants captured two Israeli soldiers.
The deserted neighbourhood has been devastated by almost daily Israeli attacks in the past few days. The new raid caused three major explosions to shake the capital.
By early morning Tuesday, at least 215 Lebanese had been reported killed in the seven days of the bloody Israeli offensive.
At least 24 Israelis have been killed so far.
"I don't have neither a missile base nor a militant son. I don't belong to any party. What have I done?," a distraught man told AP Television as he inspected the damage in Shweifat village, close to Beirut's southern suburb, echoing the sentiment of the average Lebanese citizen.
As the bombing campaign continued, foreign powers dispatched commercial ships to ferry their citizens out of war-torn Lebanon.
Another commercial ship docked on Tuesday morning at Beirut's harbour.
Russian citizens were gathering outside their embassy in the capital waiting to be evacuated.
There are an estimated 1,400 Russians currently in Lebanon.

STORYLINE:
More than a one hundred Americans were evacuated from Lebanon to Cyprus by US military helicopters on Tuesday, with an additional two hundred set to leave by boat before the end of the day.
The US ambassador to Lebanon Jeffrey D. Feltman defended the process in the face of Americans' complaints that it took too long to start moving them out.
He said the top priority was the safety of US citizens.
"We were able to move today about 320, tomorrow it will be more than one thousand," Feltman said.
A number of helicopters could be seen leaving Beirut on Tuesday just before sunset, half the people left on helicopters earlier in the day.
Feltman said the embassy did not have the experience to move so many people, but the government did.
The move out did not start until a team of US security experts arrived in Lebanon over the weekend to plan the evacuation.
Meanwhile British nationals left the port of Beirut on a British warship bound for Cyprus on Tuesday.
HMS Gloucester, carrying between 100 to 250 British citizens, is due to reach Cyprus by dawn the British military said.
British Prime Minister Tony Blair said six British ships were in the region and will help with evacuations.
British Foreign Office minister Kim Howells has said that as many as 22-thousand Britons could be removed from Lebanon by sea in what he described as "the biggest evacuation since Dunkirk," when British soldiers fled northern France ahead of Nazi forces in 1940.
On Monday and again Tuesday, two British military helicopters landed on a coastal strip near Beirut to pick up dozens of Britons and fly them to Cyprus where British forces have a base.
Other British citizens wishing to leave have been advised to converge on an assembly point where some will be taken to board a commercial ship.
The violence began on Wednesday (12 July 2006) when fighters of the Shiite Muslim Hezbollah, a group allied with Iran and Syria, captured two Israeli soldiers in a cross-border raid.
Israel retaliated relentlessly with waves of attacks - bombs and missiles - that destroyed Hezbollah positions and offices in south Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley and Beirut's southern suburbs.
Beirut's infrastructure - from its bridges to its international airport - has been badly damaged.

STORYLINE:
The US Navy said on Saturday that eight Iranian fishermen rescued by an American aircraft carrier in the Arabian Sea have been transferred to an Iranian ship.
The Fifth Fleet said the fishermen's boat had caught fire on Wednesday.
The US warship Harry S. Truman spotted the burning vessel and found the Iranians floating on a raft nearby.
The carrier dispatched two helicopters to rescue the men, brought them on board and gave them medical attention and dry clothing.
A spokesman for the Bahrain-based Fifth Fleet, says the fishermen were in "good condition" and were transferred to an Iranian ship on Friday.
The carrier is on a routine mission in the Arabian Sea, which part of the Indian Ocean.
No details of the exact location were given.

STORYLINE:
Flying a huge American flag from its mast, the guided missile cruiser USS Anzio led a parade of nearly a dozen Navy ships and Coast Guard craft up New York Harbour on Wednesday to open the city's 19th annual Fleet Week observance.
Some 4,000 sailors and Marines were expected to spend time, and money, taking in Gotham's sights, sounds and saloons over the next week.
Dozens of servicemen said their first priority was to visit Ground Zero, and then see Times Square or even a ball game.
"It is very nice to see everybody together and everybody actually support each other and having all the civilians appreciate everything that you're doing, my biggest thing while I'm here, is I'm going to a Yankees game on Saturday, so that's my big thing," said Petty Officer John Rose.
The event this year was more low-key than usual, with fewer ships, no aircraft carriers, and only one foreign entrant, the British navy's ocean survey vessel HMS Scott.
Past gatherings have included ships from Britain, Canada, France and other nations.
Chris Zendan, civilian spokesman for Fleet Week, said there was no particular cutback in the celebration but the Navy's own priorities determine what ships would be available for the week-long port call.

How to Fly the Grumman F6F Hellcat 1943 US Navy Pilot Training Film
more at http://scitech.quickfound.net/aviation_news_and_search.html
"The carrier-based fighter Grumman F6F Hellcat was designed from the beginning to take back the skies over the Pacific from the Japanese Zero. Successor to the Grumman Wildcat, the F6F Hellcat made history in 1942 when it decisively whipped the Japanese aircraft carrier based fighters opposing it in the Pacific."
Reupload of a previously uploaded film, in one piece instead of multiple parts, and with improved video and sound.
Public domain film from the National Archives, slightly cropped to remove uneven edges, with the aspect ratio corrected, and mild video noise reduction applied.
The soundtrack was also processed with volume normalization, noise reduction, clipping reduction, and equalization (the resulting sound, though not perfect, is far less noisy than the original).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grumman_F6F_Hellcat
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was a carrier-based fighter aircraft developed to replace the earlier F4F Wildcat in United States Navy (USN) service. Although the F6F resembled the Wildcat, it was a completely new design powered by a 2,000 hp Pratt & Whitney R-2800. Some tagged it as the "Wildcat's big brother". The Hellcat and the Vought F4U Corsair were the primary USN fighters during the second half of World War II.
The Hellcat was credited with destroying 5,271 aircraft while in service with the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps (5,163 in the Pacific and eight more during the invasion of Southern France, plus 52 with the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm during World War II), which was more than any other Allied aircraft. Postwar, the Hellcat was phased out of front line service, but remained in service as late as 1954 as a night fighter.
Grumman was working on a successor to the F4F Wildcat well before the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. While the F4F was a capable fighter, early air battles revealed the Japanese A6M Zero was more maneuverable and possessed a better rate of climb than the F4F. The F4F did have some advantages over the Zero. Wildcats were able to absorb a tremendous amount of damage compared to the Zero, and had better armament. The F4F was also much faster in a dive than the Zero, an advantage frequently used by Wildcat pilots to elude attacking Zeros. The F6F Hellcat was designed to enhance the favorable aspects of the F4F while having a much higher top speed and greater range, allowing it to outperform the Zero.
The contract for the prototype XF6F-1 was signed on 30 June 1941 and was designed to use the Wright R-2600 Cyclone engine of 1,700 hp (1,268 kW) driving a three-bladed Curtiss Electric propeller. However based on combat accounts of encounters between the F4F Wildcat and A6M Zero, Grumman decided to further increase the new fighter's performance. Grumman redesigned and strengthened the F6F airframe to incorporate the 2,000 hp (1,500 kW) Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp, estimating a 25% increase in performance would result. Instead of the Wildcat's narrow-track, hand-cranked undercarriage retracting into the fuselage, the Hellcat had wide-set, hydraulically-actuated undercarriage struts which twisted through 90° while retracting backward into the wings. The wing was low-mounted instead of mid-mounted and was arranged to allow each panel outboard of the undercarriage bay to fold backwards, parallel with the fuselage, with the leading edges pointing down. The cockpit was mounted high in the fuselage and the front fuselage sloped down slightly to the engine cowling, providing good all-round visibility for the pilot.
The Cyclone-powered XF6F-1 prototype (02981) first flew on 26 June 1942...
The Hellcat first saw action against the Japanese on 1 September 1943 when fighters off the USS Independence shot down a Kawanishi H8K "Emily" flying boat...
Navy and Marine F6F pilots flew 66,530 combat sorties and claimed 5,163 kills (56% of all U.S. Naval/Marine air victories of the war) at a recorded cost of 270 Hellcats (an overall kill-to-loss ratio of 19:1 based on confirmed kills). The aircraft performed well against the best Japanese opponents with a claimed 13:1 kill ratio against Mitsubishi A6M, 9.5:1 against Nakajima Ki-84, and 3.7:1 against the Mitsubishi J2M during the last year of the war. The F6F became the prime ace-maker aircraft in the American inventory, with 305 Hellcat aces. The U.S. successes were not only attributed to superior aircraft, but also because they faced increasingly inexperienced Japanese aviators from 1942 onwards, as well as having the advantage of increasing numerical superiority.
In the ground attack role, Hellcats dropped 6,503 tons (5,899 tonnes) of bombs...

Chinese Navy Issues Angry Warning to US Plane in South China Sea - Audio Recording
The Chinese navy repeatedly warned the U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon plane to leave airspace around disputed islands in the South China Sea. "Foreign military aircraft, this is Chinese navy. You are approaching our military alert zone. Leave immediately," a Chinese naval officer warned the U.S. plane, "Your action is unfriendly and dangerous. Please go away quickly."
U.S. Sailors assigned to Patrol Squadron (VP) 45 conduct flight operations aboard a P-8A Poseidon over the Spratly Islands in South China Sea, May 20. VP-45 is on deployment supporting U.S. 7th Fleet operations in the Pacific.

SUPER FAST stealth attack boat for the US military and Navy

The United States Navy's Sea, Air, Land Teams, commonly known as the Navy SEALs, are the U.S. Navy's principal special operations force and a part of the Naval Special Warfare Command and United States Special Operations Command. The SEALs' duty is to conduct small-unit maritime military operations which originate from, and return to a river, ocean, swamp, delta, or coastline. SEALs can negotiate shallow water areas such as the Persian Gulf coastline, where large ships and submarines are limited due to depth.

U.S. NAVY AIRCRAFT CARRIER LANDING MISHAPS & CRASHES Training Film 9002
Landing a plane on the deck of aircraft carrier is one of the most dangerous and amazing daily activity facing pilots and deck crew. This amazing training film graphically depicts various aircraft landing disasters. It also instructs pilots how to avoid them and what emergency ejection or ditching procedures to follow in case they do occur. A barrier landing, called for when a pilot has a landing gear problem, is shown as is the set-up of the barrier. Many crashes in this film were captured by the Pilot Landing Aid Television system, known as PLAT, so quality is not optimal. While the image are low resolution, they enable incidents to be studied in some detail. The impact and the lessons learned from these plane crashes are dramatic and serve as excellent training for new pilots. Ships seen in the film are the nuclear carrier USS Enterprise (CVN-65) and the conventional USS Boxer (CV-21). Planes seen in the film are: F-8 Crusader amongst many others.
This film is part of the Periscope Film LLC archive, one of the largest historic military, transportation, and aviation stock footage collections in the USA. Entirely film backed, this material is available for licensing in 24p HD. For more information visit http://www.PeriscopeFilm.com

US Navy Training Film MN-10003A
Public domain film from the US Navy, slightly cropped to remove uneven edges, with the aspect ratio corrected, and mild video noise reduction applied.
The soundtrack was also processed with volume normalization, noise reduction, clipping reduction, and/or equalization (the resulting sound, though not perfect, is far less noisy than the original).
There is a broadband hum in the vocal frequencies of this film which I cannot completely remove.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grumman_F9F_Panther

U.S. Navy Develops Bulletproof Transparent Armor
