FLIGHT ON ONE OF THE OLDEST BOEING 737-300
This video documentary features the return flight from
Belgrade to
Frankfurt onboard
JAT Airways Boeing 737-300 YU-ANI, one of the oldest B 737-300 series.
Enjyoing the unmatched hospitality of Aviogenex the previous evening, there was one unpleasant surprise.
The Captain of my return flight onboard Squakie reported sick and the flight was to be operated by an ordinary JAT Airways B 737-300.
Despite the bad news,
Bojan Nikolic invited me on a free ride on Squakie on the evening rotation from Belgrade to
Aqaba, Jordan and back. To my biggest regret, I had to turn down his generous offer due to a tight business schedule in
Germany. The
JAT flight to
Düsseldorf was delayed by 12 hours, so I was rebooked on the direct service back to Frankfurt, scheduled to leave at noon.
Miomir
Godic, a unique character and distinct face of Aviogenex at Belgrade airport, was on duty that day and helped me with checkin and handling my rebooking through the JAT office. After checking the crew list of my flight, his face turned pale. I was warned, that filming would be rather difficult with this
Captain and this
Crew onboard, known for strict obedience of internal company regulations throughout many years of unpleasant experience. However it was too late for switching flights again, so I opted for filming "under cover".
This flight was rather uneventful, howver I was stopped twice from filming out of the window and taking pictures of the cabin in a very rude and embarassing manner.
Hard to accept, I asked for an explanation for this kind of rigid behaviour.
The answer was that a passenger posted pictures and negative remarks on Twitter complaining about bad and rude service. The attitude of this crew couldn't prove in any better way the
point of the complaining Twitter remark.
I wish to express my sincere gratitude to Bojan Nikolic, Mile Krnjajic and late Miomir Godic for all the extravaganza provided for this video project and their kind and unmatched hospitality, despite the unfortunate circumstances of the return flight.
