The Pegasus was also the planned engine for a number of aircraft projects, among which were the prototypes of the German Dornier Do 31 VSTOL military transport project.

L-29 Delfín - Display Flight
L-29 Delfín (Dolphin) was designed in former Czechoslovakia by Zdeněk Rublič and Karel Tomáš in the 1950s as a two-seat military jet trainer. Though its first prototype was powered by a British jet engine Bristol Siddeley Viper, all other subsequent aircrafts featured a single shaft centrifugal turbojet M701 - the first jet engine designed in Czechoslovakia by Jiří Rada in the Motorlet/Walter factory while L-29 Delfín was Czechoslovakia's first locally designed and built jet aircraft. The production of L-29 began in April 1963 and continued for 11 years, with total of 3,600 built until 1974 by Aero Vodochody aircraft manufacturer. More than 2,000 L-29s out of the total were supplied to the Soviet Air Force, acquiring the NATO reporting name "Maya."
Video features Pavel Veselý in the cockpit of a restored L-29 Delfín which was built in 1969. Though the plane´s camouflage of the Egyptian Air Force and the markings of the Slovak Air Force may seem to be a bit of curiosity, the explanation is simple – after a paint job on Egyptian L-29s was completed in Slovakia, a decision was made to spruce up the Slovakian L-29s by using the leftover paints.

MEET THE "DAM BUSTERS"
Seen here, a Vulcan Bomber of 617 Squadron, the "Dam Busters", the first squadron to be equipped with the "Blue Steel" stand-off bomb. Powered by its Bristol Siddeley rocket engine, the bomb can navigate its own way to a target at several times the speed of sound. This missile is as up-to-date in the sixties as the weapons carried by Dam Busting Lancasters in the 1940's. Wing Commander Guy Gibson VC, was the leader of those missions in 1943, to destroy the dams and powerhouses which drove the Nazi war machine. Here is the Mohne Dam before the attack. A vital back-spin on the bomb, devised by Dr Barnes Wallis, increased the number of bounces so that it could penetrate the torpedo netting defence and travel accurately to the dam wall before sinking and exploding 30 feet below the surface. The ultimate extension of the "Bouncing Bomb" idea is "Blue Steel", and the name which unites them, "Dam Busters".

I've been working on this project in my spare time between March 2013 and March 2014. One of the goals in the edit was to tell little stories using subtle interplays between shots, sometimes spanning over several shots. I love the richness and depth that time-lapse photography filmmaking provides, you always notice different things on subsequent viewings.
The project has been a real labour of love and features over 100 location shoots, with around 9000 separate images used for the final edit. I spent countless hours in pre-production, location shooting, and post production. From travelling around locations with lots of motion control equipment -- to fine tuning, finessing, and polishing sequences to arrive at the final edit. Time-lapse filmmaking takes a great deal of patience and determination.
If you enjoy the film and appreciate the time and effort, please show some love by giving it a like / social share (you can also find it on Vimeo here: http://vimeo.com/jbee/bristol) Please share it with your friends and family : )

Handley Page Victor
The Handley Page Victor was a British jet-powered strategic bomber, developed and produced by the Handley Page Aircraft Company, which served during the Cold War. It was the third and final of the V-bombers operated by the Royal Air Force (RAF), the other two V-bombers being the Avro Vulcan and the Vickers Valiant. The Victor had been developed to perform as part of the United Kingdom’s airborne nuclear deterrent. In 1968, the type was retired from the nuclear mission following the discovery of fatigue cracks, which had been exacerbated by the RAF's adoption of a low-altitude flight profile to avoid interception.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawker_Siddeley_P.1127
The Hawker P.1127 and the Hawker Siddeley Kestrel FGA.1 were the experimental and development aircraft that led to the Hawker Siddeley Harrier, the first vertical and/or short take-off and landing (V/STOL) jet fighter-bomber. Kestrel development began in 1957, taking advantage of the Bristol Engine Company's choice to invest in the creation of the Pegasus vectored-thrust engine. Testing began in July 1960 and by the end of the year the aircraft had achieved both vertical take-off and horizontal flight. The test program also explored the possibility of use upon aircraft carriers, landing on HMS Ark Royal in 1963. The first three aircraft crashed during testing, one at the 1963 Paris Air Show.
Improvements to future development aircraft, such as swept wings and more powerful Pegasus engines, led to the development of the Kestrel. The Kestrel was evaluated by the Tri-partite Evaluation Squadron, made up of military pilots from Britain, the United States, and West Germany. Later flights were conducted by the U.S. military and NASA.
Related work on a supersonic aircraft, the Hawker Siddeley P.1154, was cancelled in 1965. As a result, the P.1127 (RAF), a variant more closely based on the Kestrel, was ordered into production that year, and named Harrier in 1967. The Harrier would go on to serve with the UK and several nations, often as a carrier-based aircraft...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell_XV-3
The Bell XV-3 (Bell 200) was a tiltrotor aircraft developed by Bell Helicopter for a joint research program between the United States Air Force and the United States Army in order to explore convertiplane technologies. The XV-3 featured an engine mounted in the fuselage with drive shafts transferring power to two-bladed rotor assemblies mounted on the wingtips. The wingtip rotor assemblies were mounted to tilt 90 degrees from vertical to horizontal, which was designed to allow the XV-3 to take off and land like a helicopter but fly at faster airspeeds, similar to a conventional fixed-wing aircraft.
The XV-3 was first flown on 11 August 1955. Although it was limited in performance, the aircraft successfully demonstrated the tiltrotor concept, accomplishing 110 transitions from helicopter to airplane mode between December 1958 and July 1962. The XV-3 program ended when the remaining aircraft was severely damaged in a wind tunnel accident on 20 May 1966. The data and experience from the XV-3 program were key elements used to successfully develop the Bell XV-15, which later paved the way for the V-22 Osprey...

wn.com/When Britain Ruled The Skies 1Of2
Explains the time between 1945 and 1970 when british jet tecnology was on top of the other countries.
Hawker Siddeley Harrier
The Hawker Siddeley Harrier, known colloquially as the "Harrier Jump Jet", was developed in the 1960s and formed the first generation of the Harrier series of aircraft. It was the first operational close-support and reconnaissance fighter aircraft with vertical/short takeoff and landing (V/STOL) capabilities and the only truly successful V/STOL design of the many that arose in that era. The Harrier was produced directly from the Hawker Siddeley Kestrel prototypes following the cancellation of a more advanced supersonic aircraft, the Hawker Siddeley P.1154. The British Royal Air Force (RAF) ordered the Harrier GR.1 and GR.3 variants in the late 1960s. It was exported to the United States as the AV-8A, for use by the US Marine Corps (USMC), in the 1970s.
The RAF positioned the bulk of their Harriers in West Germany to defend against a potential invasion of Western Europe by the Soviet Union; the unique abilities of the Harrier allowed the RAF to disperse their forces away from vulnerable airbases. The USMC used their Harriers primarily for close air support, operating from amphibious assault ships, and, if needed, forward operating bases. Harrier squadrons saw several deployments overseas. The Harrier's ability to operate with minimal ground facilities and very short runways allowed it to be used at locations unavailable to other fixed-wing aircraft. The Harrier received criticism for having a high accident rate and for a time-consuming maintenance process.

Combat aircraft, or "Warplanes", are divided broadly into multi-role, fighters, bombers, and attackers, with several variations between them, including fighter-bombers, such as the MiG-23, ground-attack aircraft, such as the Soviet Ilyushin Il-2 Shturmovik. Also included among combat aircraft are long-range maritime patrol aircraft, such as the Hawker Siddeley Nimrod and the S-3 Viking that are often equipped to attack with anti-ship missiles and anti-submarine weapons.
Experimental aircraft are designed in order to test advanced aerodynamic, structural, avionic, or propulsion concepts. These are usually well instrumented, with performance data telemetered on radio-frequency data links to ground stations located at the test ranges where they are flown. An example of an experimental aircraft is the Bristol 188.

A number of Victors had received modifications to undertake the strategic reconnaissance role, employing a combination of radar, cameras, and other sensors. As the nuclear deterrence mission was given to the Royal Navy's submarine-launched Polaris missiles in 1969, a large V-bomber fleet was deemed surplus to requirements. Consequently, many of the surviving Victors were converted into aerial refuelling tankers. During the Falklands War, Victor tankers were notably used in the airborne logistics operation to repeatedly refuel Vulcan bombers on their way to and from the Black Buck raids.
