The Comoros 
i/ˈkɒməroʊz/ (Arabic: جزر القمر, Ǧuzur al-Qumur/Qamar), officially the Union of the Comoros (Comorian: Udzima wa Komori, French: Union des Comores, Arabic: الاتحاد القمري al-Ittiḥād al-Qumurī/Qamarī) is a sovereign, archipelago island nation in the Indian Ocean, located off the eastern coast of Africa, on the northern end of the Mozambique Channel, between northeastern Mozambique and northwestern Madagascar. Other countries near to the Comoros are Tanzania to the northwest and the Seychelles to the northeast. The capital is Moroni on Grande Comore.
At 1,862 km2 (719 sq mi) (excluding Mayotte), the Comoros is the third-smallest African nation by area. The population (excluding Mayotte) is estimated at 798,000. Its name derives from the Arabic word قمر qamar ("moon"). The archipelago is notable for its diverse culture and history, as a nation formed at the crossroads of many civilizations. It is the southernmost member state of the Arab League. Though in the contested island of Mayotte the sole official language is French, the "Union of the Comoros" has three official languages: Comorian, Arabic, and French.

I fly into Moroni, the capital of the Comoros. Unlike the Seychelles, Maldives and Mauritius, this Indian Ocean nation sees very little tourism and is one of the poorest countries on Earth. I stay in the lush surroundings of the Istandra Beach Hotel, but take a tour of the Island's sights, including the old capital, Iconi, a wander through the markets of Moroni, and stop by a beach to watch some fishermen out in the surf. A most memorable trip. -

Kuwait: The Humanitarian State, is attempting to buy and sell the identity of its own stateless population. This is not a new program, but an old one - it has been trying to remove the identity of its stateless Kuwaiti population by assigning them foreign passports, for some years.
The issue is being raised again in order to distract the media from raising awareness about a second wave of bans on schooling for stateless children, commenced in September 2014.
Rather than a physical expulsion of the entire population as threatened, the program looks more like to continue to crush the identity and dignity of the population and to make it difficult for their employment conditions, some which can be characterised as slavery, from becoming more widely known about.
By re-assigning the identity of the stateless the population as 'non-national' expatriate workers, they will be even more difficult to trace than they already are, having been excluded from the census. Instead they will be assumed to be expatriates but continuing without employment protections, where the government does not provide them with any state-sponsored services, but with no claims to citizenship. While individuals continue to be forced to work in conditions that for some, are tantamount to slavery: disproportionately low wages, with no contracts or other employment protections, chronic job instability and underemployment (ie in menial or meaningless jobs unrelated to educational attainment), in relationships of servitude and indebtedness and at constant risk of not being paid at all.
The government, via its Ministry of the Interior, threatens to hurt the population further if it finds stateless people talking to the international media. This video is from Australia, and the information provided is based on academic research. The community has endorsed the release of the information in the wake of recent education bans and Kuwait's public relations exercise at the UNHCR - joining the 'fight against statelessness' - and at the UN - in its 30 Oct 2014 speech about its care and concern for 'human rights.'

Some might call it human identity trafficking. He has been involved in at least two putsches in the Comoros. In May, 1978, Denard, who has two children from his marriage to a Comoran woman, overthrew President Soilih. Denard brought Abdallah, the Comoros' first head of state, back to power, but became the islands' de facto ruler as head of the presidential guard, which was financed by South Africa. On November 27, 1989, Abdallah was shot dead in Denard's presence in the presidential palace.

Although said to have "retired" two years ago, Denard was reported by a Comorian diplomat in Paris to be back on his old stomping ground on Thursday (28/9) holding the current President hostage, even though he faces trial in France in connection with the killing of former Comoran president Abdallah. Denard, who has admitted having carried out covert operations for a number of countries was sentenced two years ago to a five-year suspended jail term for a 1977 attempted coup in the west African state of Benin. He has been involved in at least two putsches in the Comoros. In May, 1978, Denard, who has two children from his marriage to a Comoran woman, overthrew President Soilih. Denard brought Abdallah, the Comoros' first head of state, back to power, but became the islands' de facto ruler as head of the presidential guard, which was financed by South Africa. On November 27, 1989, Abdallah was shot dead in Denard's presence in the presidential palace.
