This is my first upload and I don't have any plans to upload anything else in the near-future; I'm proud of my account and its good standing to date and I'm in no hurry to spoil that. In other words, don't subscribe to my channel, I don't do anything. Who are Aleka's Attic? Aleka's Attic were a band from the late 80's into the early 90's, comprised of River Phoenix, Rain Phoenix, Josh McKay and Josh Greenbaum. Other musicians who contributed to tracks - according to the internet - are Tim Hankins, Sasa Raphael and Michael Perfitt. The band never released an official album due to the untimely and very sad death of River Phoenix. Why am I uploading this here? With good reason, I think. There are no physical copies of a record to get hold of from Aleka's Attic. I understand that there was an attempt made by Rain Phoenix to mix unfinished tracks et cetera, but it hasn't yet come to fruition because of an apparent dispute between a couple of former band members. Great shame after great shame. I am in FULL support of an eventual release of Aleka's Attic and/or River Phoenix music, but until then I feel that what currently circulates on the net of their/his music should be heard as much as possible, especially in light of a potential future release. The most important thing in my opinion is that River Phoenix's passion for his music and his underlying altruistic intentions are heard and realised. It was needed then, well, it's sure needed now (more than ever before). River said of his music, "I want to wake up the masses." It was golden music for a golden year. Finding that there was no physical record to get hold of, I just had to make a mixtape myself. I had no idea what order the tracks for the planned album were to be in, and Wikipedia listed them in alphabetical order, so I chose what sounded best to me. Now I share it here with you and really hope you'll be glad to have the songs in one place, regardless of the order. The tracks were taken from various sites, so I can't be sure that they're the best quality around but I think you'll agree the beauty still shines through. Enjoy.
