To revenge them, Eris invisibly dropped an apple to the wedding writing “To the Fairest”. Hera, Athena and Aphrodite asked Zeus to decide which goddess should take it, but Zeus diplomatically refused to do so and decided to let the handsome Paris, the son of Troy’s king to decide. The three goddess tried to bribe Paris by offering wealth (Hera), wisdom and unbeatable military power (Athena) and Helen and the most beautiful woman of the world (Aphrodite). Paris took Aphrodite’s offer and Aphrodite was given the apple. There was only one problem. Helen was married to another man, Menelaus, the King of Sparta and brother of the all mighty king of Greeks, Agamemnon.
