Măneciu is a commune in Prahova County, Romania. It is composed of nine villages: Cheia, Chiciureni, Costeni, Făcăieni, Gheaba, Măneciu-Pământeni, Măneciu-Ungureni (the commune centre), Mânăstirea Suzana and Plăieţu.

The relief is split in approximately equal parts between the mountains, the hills and the plain. In the North side there are mountains from the southern end of the Eastern Carpathians - the Curvature Carpathians group; and the Bucegi Mountains the Eastern end of the Southern Carpathians group. The two groups are separated by the Prahova River Valley.
The south side of the county is a plain, on the North West side of the Romanian Plain.
The Prahova River is a river of Southern Romania, which rises from the Bucegi Mountains, in the Southern Carpathians and flows into the Ialomiţa (near Adâncata). The upper reach of the river, upstream of the junction with the Azuga River is sometimes called the Prahovița River.
It has a length of 183 km (114 mi), of which 6 km (3.7 mi) are in Braşov County, 161 km (100 mi) are in Prahova County and the last 16 km (9.9 mi) are in Ilfov county.
The basin of the Prahova covers 3,740 km2 (1,440 sq mi), which is about 75% of the surface of Prahova county.

Comarnic (Romanian pronunciation: [koˈmarnik]) is a town in Prahova County, Romania, with a population of 13,500. Four villages are administered by the town: Ghioșești, Podu Lung, Poiana and Posada. Its name origin is the Romanian word "comarnic", which is a kind of a shepherd's hut of Slavic origin: komar=mosquito+ -nik, literally, "retreat from mosquitoes".
