Stewart Columnist, New York Times, and Author DePauw University Class of 1973, French and Political Science James Stewart has published nine books, including the national bestsellers DisneyWar, Den of Thieves, Blind Eye: How the Medical Establishment Let a Doctor Get Away with Murder, and Blood Sport: The President and His Adversaries. His most recent book is Tangled Webs: How False Statements Are Undermining America. Stewart won the Pulitzer Prize for articles on the 1987 stock market crash, which were published in the Wall Street Journal. He also has won the George Polk Award for outstanding journalism, Gerald Loeb Award for outstanding finance and business journalism, and Edgar Allen Poe Award for outstanding mystery writing. Stewart has served as the front-page editor of the Wall Street Journal and was a founding editor of Smart Money. He currently writes about business in the “Common Sense” column of the New York Times Business Day section and regularly contributes to the New Yorker. In addition, Stewart is the Bloomberg Professor of Business Journalism at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. Before turning to journalism, Stewart practiced law with the firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York City. Born and raised in Quincy, Illinois, he received his bachelor’s degree in French and political science from DePauw University and his JD from Harvard Law School. Moderator: S. Georgia Nugent Campaign Chair and Senior Fellow, CIC, and Interim President, The College of Wooster Georgia Nugent is serving as interim president at the College of Wooster for the 2015–2016 academic year and completing a two-year term as a senior fellow at CIC. From 2003 to 2013, she was president of Kenyon College. Nugent has held several administrative roles at Princeton University, including assistant to the president, and has been a professor of classics on the faculties of Swarthmore College, Princeton University, and Brown University. A member of the first class of women to graduate from Princeton, she later became the first alumna appointed to Princeton’s faculty. Nugent has received numerous teaching awards and was among the earliest lecturers included in the nationally distributed “Superstar Teachers” series of audio and videotapes. She speaks frequently on issues of higher education leadership, as well as the relevance of the Greek and Roman classics to contemporary society. She completed her PhD in classics at Cornell University.
