Ballinger Texas Santa Fe Depot. City of Ballinger City Hall today. These 3D renderings were from a Screen Saver I created several years ago for Pre-Windows 7. Since XP was the last Windows OS to use Screen Savers I have put a few of the Screen Saver videos in this Video. My grandson Paul McDaniel and I created these 3D videos while I was teaching him how to create 3D images and add them to the 'TRAINZ' Train Simulator Program. The Ballinger Santa Fe Depot was created in 3D Canvas in 2006. I have misplaced these videos many times and decided to just add them to YOUTUBE. Many Ballinger citizens have ask for the Screen Saver in the past so I hope they and others enjoy this video.

Texas (
i/ˈtɛksəs/) (Alibamu: Teksi ) is the second most populous and the second most extensive of the 50 United States, and the most extensive state of the 48 contiguous United States. The name, based on the Caddo word "Tejas" meaning "friends" or "allies", was applied by the Spanish to the Caddo themselves and to the region of their settlement in East Texas. Located in the South Central United States, Texas shares an international border with the Mexican states of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas to the south, and borders the US states of New Mexico to the west, Oklahoma to the north, Arkansas to the northeast, and Louisiana to the east. Texas has an area of 268,820 square miles (696,200 km2), and a growing population of 25.7 million residents.
During the Spanish colonial rule, the area was officially known as the Nuevo Reino de Filipinas: La Provincia de Texas. Antonio Margil de Jesús was known to be the first person to use the name in a letter to the Viceroy of Mexico in July 20, 1716. The name was not popularly used in daily speech but often appeared in legal documents until the end of the 1800s.

Dallas is a young city with all the vigour of youth. Effigies of modern architecture rise like glass trees out of the downtown area. In 1841, it was simply a plan of 20 streets on the 256 hectares (640 acres) of south central America, claimed by a Tennessee lawyer, John Neely Bryan. Today, it is the ninth largest city in the USA, and including its western neighbour of Fort Worth, it is the nation's fastest growing metropolitan area.
Thriving at the bottom edge of America's Great Plains, Dallas has embraced dreamers and entrepreneurs for the better part of two centuries. Big D, as it's affectionately called, merges Southern hospitality with modern sophistication. Though the landscape looks different than at its humble beginning, the city still welcomes enterprising people who gather to share their grand ideas and stake claims on new frontiers.
Dallas will always be remembered for one, if not two, shootings. The first and most shocking occurred on 22 November 1963, when President J F Kennedy was assassinated in downtown Dallas. The second shooting may only have been fictional but, when J R Ewing was shot by an unknown killer in the TV series Dallas in the early 1980s, fans across the world were devastated. Even today, the legend of J R remains strong, as does the legacy of President Kennedy.
Today the city is a mecca for the banking, electronics and oil industries, as well as for dining, shopping, arts and entertainment. Large scale developments of urban lofts, apartments, condominiums, retail and both indoor and outdoor recreational facilities are springing up across the city. An impressive new Dallas Center for the Performing Arts opened in 2009 to vie with New York's Lincoln Center. New facilities and relevant attractions in and around this cultural centre continue to grow.
Among things you probably didn't know about Dallas: The city has the largest urban arts district in the United States spanning 19 blocks. What's more, the Dallas Arts District has more buildings designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architects in one contiguous location than anywhere else in the world. And Dallas' Fair Park, just a short distance east of the arts district and a district with numerous museums and venues, features the nation's largest collection of 1930s Art Deco, exposition-style architecture.
Dallas offers true Southern hospitality, be it in a humble hideaway cocktail bar or in the Mansion on Turtle Creek, repeatedly and regularly ranked as one of the world's top hotels. And with a 10th of its workforce in the hospitality industry, Dallas is always happy to have y'all come on in and stick around awhile.
Those wishing to explore further afield should take the busy freeway 30 miles to the west to the easy-going, cattle-driving, twin city of Fort Worth, home to a national historic district and a surprising stash of world-class art museums.
The similarities between the two include a stunning rate of business and population growth, in spite of a sluggish recent economy; a shared passion for the pro sports teams, including the Dallas Cowboys, whose new billion-dollar stadium is now in Tarrant County instead of Dallas; and a great pride in being Texan.

officially the City of San Antonio, is the seventh most populous city in the United States of America and the second most populous city in the state of Texas, with a population of 1,409,019.[1] It was the fastest growing of the top 10 largest cities in the United States from 2000 to 2010, and the second from 1990 to 2000.[4][5] The city is located in the American Southwest, the south–central part of Texas, and the southwestern corner of an urban region known as the Texas Triangle.
San Antonio serves as the seat of Bexar County. The city has characteristics of other western urban centers in which there are sparsely populated areas and a low density rate outside of the city limits. San Antonio is the center of the San Antonio–New Braunfels Metropolitan Statistical Area. Commonly referred to as Greater San Antonio, the metropolitan area has a population of over 2.27 million based on the 2013 US Census estimate, making it the 25th-largest metropolitan area in the United States and third-largest in the state of Texas. Growth along the Interstate 35 and Interstate 10 corridors to the north, west and east make it likely that the metropolitan area will continue to expand.
San Antonio was named for Saint Anthony of Padua, whose feast day is on June 13, by a 1691 Spanish expedition in the area. It is notable for Spanish colonial missions, the Alamo, the River Walk, the Tower of the Americas, the Alamo Bowl, and Marriage Island. Commercial entertainment includes SeaWorld and Six Flags Fiesta Texas theme parks, and the city is visited by approximately 26 million tourists per year, according to the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau. The city is home to the five-time NBA champion San Antonio Spurs and hosts the annual San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, one of the largest such events in the country.
The US armed forces have numerous facilities in San Antonio: Fort Sam Houston, Lackland Air Force Base, Randolph Air Force Base (which constitute Joint Base San Antonio), and Lackland AFB/Kelly Field Annex, with Camp Bullis and Camp Stanley located outside the city. Kelly Air Force Base operated out of San Antonio until 2001, when the airfield was transferred to Lackland AFB. The remaining portions of the base were developed as Port San Antonio, an industrial/business park. San Antonio is home to six Fortune 500 companies and the South Texas Medical Center, the only medical research and care provider in the South Texas region.

Growth along the Interstate 35 and Interstate 10 corridors to the north, west and east make it likely that the metropolitan area will continue to expand.
San Antonio was named for Saint Anthony of Padua, whose feast day is on June 13, by a 1691 Spanish expedition in the area. It is notable for Spanish colonial missions, the Alamo, the River Walk, the Tower of the Americas, the Alamo Bowl, and Marriage Island. Commercial entertainment includes SeaWorld and Six Flags Fiesta Texas theme parks, and the city is visited by approximately 26 million tourists per year, according to the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau. The city is home to the five-time NBA champion San Antonio Spurs and hosts the annual San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, one of the largest such events in the country.
The US armed forces have numerous facilities in San Antonio: Fort Sam Houston, Lackland Air Force Base, Randolph Air Force Base (which constitute Joint Base San Antonio), and Lackland AFB/Kelly Field Annex, with Camp Bullis and Camp Stanley located outside the city. Kelly Air Force Base operated out of San Antonio until 2001, when the airfield was transferred to Lackland AFB. The remaining portions of the base were developed as Port San Antonio, an industrial/business park. San Antonio is home to six Fortune 500 companies and the South Texas Medical Center, the only medical research and care provider in the South Texas region.

A house fire this Friday morning, January 9, 2015, destroyed the residence located at 901 North Seventh Street, Ballinger, Texas, at the corner of Pou. The Ballinger Fire Department was called in after smoke was seen coming out of the residence just before 9 a.m.
After battling the fire with two smaller firetrucks, the fire department brought in the ladder truck to attack the fire from the top. The fire was prevented from expanding to the neighboring houses.
The fire was contained until approximately 1:30 p.m. The house was totaled.
According to the neighbors the house belongs to Judy Dean, but she was not currently living in the residence and nobody was home at the time of the fire.

Set in the 1860s, Rawhide portrays the challenges faced by the drovers of a cattle drive. There are 20–25 riders looking after 3,000 head of cattle, the maximum manageable herd. The cattle drive begins in San Antonio, Texas, and makes its way along the Sedalia Trail (Sedalia, the final destination, is in Missouri about 50 miles east from Kansas City). In later seasons the crew push the cattle up the newer Chisholm Trail rather than the Sedalia Trail. The herd is estimated to be worth about $50,000–60,000 (about 1.3 million in 2010 dollars) if sold at market and represents a pool of cattle from approximately 200 owners. The trail boss carries a considerable sum of cash for all necessities and all possible emergencies. The drovers' pay was a dollar a day and "all you can eat". Riding drag was often a punishment since it was behind the herd, so a rider would pick up all of the herd's dust. Drives had a remuda, a pool of extra horses. If something happened to a man's horse, he would be useless without an instant replacement.
