Escalona "Volumen 2" es él es el Quinto álbum del cantante colombiano Carlos Vives y la banda sonora que acompaña a la serie colombiana "Escalona", lanzado en 1992.
El álbum es lanzado durante la telenovela o miniserie que se hizo a honor al compositor vallenato Rafael Escalona, la cual el mismo Vives interpretó como protagonista a este gran compositor conocido en su país natal en esta conocida serie. Al igual que la telenovela del álbum se basa en vida del maestro Escalona y como surgieron los orígenes de sus canciones, la banda sonora se convirtió en un éxito, y marcaría a futuro a Carlos Vives y la banda "La Provincia".

Escalona is a municipality located in the north part of the province of Toledo, which in turn is part of the autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha, Spain. According to the 2006 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 3053 inhabitants, most of whom are settled in several housing estates such as Ribera del Alberche, Miragredos or Castillo de Escalona.
The town is settled alongside the right side of the river Alberche, in the comarca of Torrijos, which is a part of the historical region of New Castile.
The Mudéjar-style Castillo-Palacio de Escalona is the most characteristic building of the town, built in the 15th century.

Rafael Calixto Escalona Martinez (May 26, 1927 – May 13, 2009) was a Colombian composer and troubadour. He was known for being one of the most prominent vallenato music composers and troubadours of the genre and for being the co-founder of the Vallenato Legend Festival, along with Consuelo Araújo and Alfonso López Michelsen.
He was also a long-time friend of Gabriel García Márquez, who included him in his stories and once told him that his own masterpiece novel, 100 years of solitude, was just a 350-page Vallenato. Escalona's songs compile the history and stories of the Magdalena Department of the past 20th century. Escalona was an atypical music composer: he does not play any instruments or sing so his songs can in some ways be difficult to analyze. His songs constitute a legacy of a past generation of Colombians in his memory, a pictorial collage, full of grace, that narrates stories, customs and gossips from his region. He also left a legacy of his loves and pains, humour and poetry. In 1991 Caracol TV produced a television series named Escalona, after him.

Another travel montage video in which I hope will help inspire viewers to make their bookings and begin a life changing journey. My journey covered 30 countries, 2 of which I lived and worked in (Sri Lanka and Australia). I met so many wonderful people, gained a deeper experience of different cultures and I’ve gotten life experiences to last forever! My advice to anybody thinking about backing is ‘choose you’re staring point and go!’ A few highlights: Petra, the pyramids, night sky in the Australian outback, climbing Mt Olympus, camping in the White Desert, quad biking down a dried up river. The unique in-store shop, curated by Weston and her team, is filled with extraordinary items with extraordinary stories.
Following last year’s Uncrate India collection, H Project has teamed up with world-renowned designers who work in Africa, including DANNIJO, Stella Jean, Lem Lem’s Liya Kebede, Westward Leaning, Brother Vellies and Me to We. The exclusive collaboration with New York-based jewellery brand DANNIJO brought the team to Kigali, Rwanda where they discovered the incredible artisans and traditional techniques of the region. Another travel montage video in which I hope will help inspire viewers to make their bookings and begin a life changing journey.
My journey covered 30 countries, 2 of which I lived and worked in (Sri Lanka and Australia). I met so many wonderful people, gained a deeper experience of different cultures and I’ve gotten life experiences to last forever!
My advice to anybody thinking about backing is ‘choose you’re staring point and go!’
A few highlights: Petra, the pyramids, night sky in the Australian outback, climbing Mt Olympus, camping in the White Desert, quad biking down a dried up river.

Australia is looking to the US and China for help after discovering damage to the national icebreaker, the Aurora Australis, which remains stuck on Antarctic rocks in gale force winds with 68 people aboard. The crew found the hull of the ship had been breached, flooding water into an area used for ballast water. The Australian Antarctic Division said there was no risk to the icebreaker's stability, or of it leaking fuel....
