Persian dances choreographed or staged by Robert deWarren in Utah at Worldance 2009

WorlDance 2009 presented by Eastern Arts directed by Katherine St.John featured the work of honored ballet master Robert deWarren who had established the national ballet company in Iran and also the national regional folk dance company. This video shows examples of Bojnordi, Baluchi or Kurdish dances choreographed or staged by Master deWarren ending with his choreography based on the traditional Persian Zurkhane with music and sound effects selected and some performed by Dr. Lloyd Miller. Among the many music and sound effects mini-clips for this dance is a one minute excerpt of a performance in the mode Isfahan by honored nei master Hossein Omoumi featured along with vocal master Parisa on the excellent CD entitled Tale of Love by QTCD. Both Master Omoumi and Parisa were affiliates of the Tehran-based Center for Preservation and Propagation of Iranian Music in the 1970s where Lloyd Miller was PR person. He chose this tiny clip as part of the background for this choreography because of his respect for master Omoumi superb performance.
