THE WAR PROJECT A New Vision for Social Justice THE WAR PROJECT is a global initiative to create engagement between the world’s greatest musicians, social justice leaders and communities most in need. First we will launch MUSIC UNPLUGGED highlighting our master and youth musicians.In spring of 2015 we will stage an interactive ENCAMPMENT as a new site-specific production experimenting with new live-streaming technology, audience smart phone interfaces, witness stories, youth orchestra and masters from around the globe. THE WAR PROJECT will culminate in fall of 2015 with THE WAR ZONE in an actual refugee camp overseas. In partnership with the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Luxembourg, this production will also feature multi-media projections shot in several historic sites of Azerbaijan. Born in 1955 in South West Victoria, Australia, Shane Howard combines a deep understanding of poetic and musical folk traditions and captures something essential of the spirit of Australia in words and music.
