Sun Yat-sen (/ˈsʊn ˈjɑːtˈsɛn/; 12 November 1866 – 12 March 1925) was a Chinese revolutionary, first president and founding father of the Republic of China, and medical practitioner. As the foremost pioneer of the Republic of China, Sun is referred to as the "Father of the Nation" in the Republic of China (ROC), and the "forerunner of democratic revolution" in the People's Republic of China (PRC). Sun played an instrumental role in the overthrow of the Qing dynasty during the years leading up to the Double Ten Revolution. He was appointed to serve as Provisional President of the Republic of China when it was founded in 1912. He later co-founded the Kuomintang (KMT), serving as its first leader. Sun was a uniting figure in post-Imperial China, and he remains unique among 20th-century Chinese politicians for being widely revered amongst the people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
Although Sun is considered one of the greatest leaders of modern China, his political life was one of constant struggle and frequent exile. After the success of the revolution, he quickly resigned, due to Beiyang Clique pressure, from his post as President of the newly founded Republic of China, and led successive revolutionary governments as a challenge to the warlords who controlled much of the nation. Sun did not live to see his party consolidate its power over the country during the Northern Expedition. His party, which formed a fragile alliance with the Communists, split into two factions after his death.
China, officially the People's Republic of China (PRC), is a sovereign state in East Asia. It is the world's most populous country, with a population of over 1.35 billion. The PRC is a one-party state governed by the Communist Party, with its seat of government in the capital city of Beijing. It exercises jurisdiction over 22 provinces; five autonomous regions; four direct-controlled municipalities (Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and Chongqing); two mostly self-governing special administrative regions (Hong Kong and Macau); and claims sovereignty over Taiwan.
Covering approximately 9.6 million square kilometers, China is the world's second-largest country by land area, and either the third or fourth-largest by total area, depending on the method of measurement. China's landscape is vast and diverse, ranging from forest steppes and the Gobi and Taklamakan deserts in the arid north to subtropical forests in the wetter south. The Himalaya, Karakoram, Pamir and Tian Shan mountain ranges separate China from South and Central Asia. The Yangtze and Yellow Rivers, the third- and sixth-longest in the world, run from the Tibetan Plateau to the densely populated eastern seaboard. China's coastline along the Pacific Ocean is 14,500 kilometres (9,000 mi) long, and is bounded by the Bohai, Yellow, East and South China Seas.
Written records of the history of China can be found from as early as 1500 BC under the Shang dynasty (c. 1600–1046 BC). Ancient historical texts such as the Records of the Grand Historian (ca. 100 BC) and the Bamboo Annals describe a Xia dynasty (c. 2070–1600 BC), which had no system of writing on a durable medium, before the Shang. The Yellow River is said to be the cradle of Chinese civilization, although cultures originated at various regional centers along both the Yellow River and the Yangtze River valleys millennia ago in the Neolithic era. With thousands of years of continuous history, China is one of the world's oldest civilizations, and is regarded as one of the cradles of civilization.
Much of Chinese culture, literature and philosophy further developed during the Zhou dynasty (1046–256 BC). The Zhou dynasty began to bow to external and internal pressures in the 8th century BC, and the kingdom eventually broke apart into smaller states, beginning in the Spring and Autumn period and reaching full expression in the Warring States period. This is one of multiple periods of failed statehood in Chinese history, the most recent being the Chinese Civil War that started in 1927.

Purple Mountain or Zijin Shan (Chinese: 紫金山, Zĭjīnshān, lit. "Purple-Gold Mountain") is located on the eastern side of Nanjing in Jiangsu province, China. It is 447.1 m (1467 ft) high, with the lowest point 30 m (98 ft). Its peaks are often found enveloped in mysterious purple and golden clouds at dawn and dusk, hence its name.
A small mountain with an area about 20 square kilometres (4,900 acres), Purple Mountain is a mountain related to many historical events of both ancient and modern China. It was originally known as Bell Mountain (t 鍾山, s 钟山, Zhōngshān) and also became known as Mount Jiang (t 蔣山, s 蒋山, p Jiǎngshān) after Sun Quan named Jiang Ziwen, an Eastern Han official whose spirit was said to haunt the site, as the mountain's god during the Three Kingdoms era.
More than 200 heritage and scenic tourist sites are now located in or around the mountain, among which include three national historical sites, nine provincial historical sites, and 33 prefectural historical sites. Located in or close to the hillside of Purple-Gold Mountain, there are also about a dozen national research institutes and universities.

Sun Yat-sen is known as the 'father of modern China'. He spent his adult life fighting against imperial China and the ruling Qing dynasty. First as revolutionary leader and later as politician. He founded the Tongmenghui League in 1905 and supported rebellions in China. After the Wuchang Uprising, Sun handed over the presidential office for the Republic of China to Yuan Shikai who soon after would ban Suns political party, the Kuomintang. So he reformed it as China's National People's party. His military and political work laid the groundwork from which his successors would later call out the People's Republic of China. » The Complete PLAYLIST: http://bit.ly/HistoryOfChina » Century of Humiliation Part 1: http://bit.ly/humiliation1 Part 2: http://bit.ly/Humiliation2 » JOIN OUR COMMUNI...

MAUSOLEUM OF DR. SUN YAT SEN This most beautiful worth visiting burial place of Dr. Sun Yat Sen, called “Father of Modern China” is located at the southern slope of Purple Mountain (Mount Zijin), in the eastern suburbs of Nanjing city, better known as Purple Mountain Scenic Area. Dr. Sun fought against the despotic regime of Qing Dynasty (1644-1911 AD) and overturned the three centuries old monarchy in 1911 AD, founding the modern Republic of China. He died in 1925. The construction of his magnificent mausoleum started in 1926 and completed in 3 years and his remains were shifted to this tomb in 1929. A slope climb of about half kilometer on foot to the mausoleum starts from the Paifang Memorial Archway (with an inscription of ‘Bo Ai’ meaning ‘with love’) before one reaches the Frontispie...
In the late Qing dynasty, under the oppressive and corrupt rule, the people were living in dire poverty and China was in turmoil. To revive China for his countrymen, Dr. Sun overthrew the Manchu dynasty and established a republic that embodies the spirit of the Three Principles of the People: which is for the people, by the people, of the people.Japan served as one of the bases of Dr. Sun’s revolutionary movement and was where he spent one sixth of his time throughout the course of the revolution. With the support of the overseas Chinese, in 1905, Dr. Sun founded the Chinese Revolutionary Alliance (Tongmenghui) in Tokyo. His political goal was to establish a republic that embodied The Three Principles of the People and received wide acceptance in Japan. Dr. Sun’s Japanese friend, Shōkichi ...
We got settled in to our apartment in Nanjing. Our first weekend, we visited Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum, which meant--you guessed it--MORE STAIRS. (Closed Captioned) The Backdrop: We spent May-July in China (eight weeks in total). For the first month, I co-led a study abroad trip that brought sixteen college students to the Nanjing University of Science and Technology to study beginning Chinese. I also co-taught a Travel Writing class. As part of that trip, we went to Beijing, Nanjing, Suzhou, Shanghai, Yellow Mountain, and Slender West Lake. Once the students left for home, my husband Jesse and I traveled around China for a few more weeks. Our travels brought us to Xi'An, Chengdu, Leshan, Jiuzhaigou, Yangshuo, and Hong Kong. http://psychics.co.uk Craig talks about a coming peaceful revolution in China in which the political ideas of Communists are replaced by the doctrines of Sun Yat-sen. Predictions for China include an economic collapse followed by political protests similar to the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989. A new China will be born he predicts with a more democratic system after many troubles and economic conflicts with the USA. There is a prediction of an alliance between China and Russia. These revelations come from clairvoyance and also from the spirit of Sun Yat-sen who teaches the Three People's Principles, San-min Doctrine, or Tridemism. Known as the Father of Modern China, Sun Yat-Sen played a key role in abolishing the Qing Dynasty in China and was the first provisional president of the Rep...
