Hints:
Some of these languages have synonyms for some body parts (e.g. Akkadian has also got /qaqqadu/ for /rēšu/). But I preferred to use cognates.
For Egyptian I have chosen my own phonetic transcription rather than the traditional transliteration. The body parts mentioned here are written like this in the traditional transliteration:
tp, jrt, msḏr, šrt, r, nḏḥt, ns, šnbt, ḥ3tj, ẖt, gb3, ḏrt, ḏbˤ, wˤrt, rd
Here I preferred using synonyms that survived in Coptic (e.g. "ḥ3tj" instead of "jb")
Also in Coptic i preferred synonyms that were common in Middle Egyptian (e.g. "eia" instead of "bal"). The word for breast also has an Egyptian etymology (though this combination is not attested): "mstj ḥ3tj", literally "basket of the heart".
In Sumerian, some words use the same sign. So it's not a mistake that nose, mouth and tooth (kir, kag and zu) are written the same.
In the Sumerian transcription I've left the numbers and accents away (just "a" instrad of "á").

Of course my main field of interest are Semitic languages (hence this channel). But there are also other languages that fascinate me. For the sake of variety I just wanted to read out some other old languages.
A often used text for language comparison is the Lord's Prayer because it was translated into many languages, also some that are extinct now.
The first language is Old High German, which I am interested in because it is the oldest written form of my native tongue. I'm reading the Lord's Prayer in three OHG dialects: Frankish, Alemannic and Bavarian.
The second language is Gothic, the oldest written account of a Germanic language.
The third language is Latin... quite well known. Actually the Lord's Prayer should be read out in Ecclesiastical Latin since it must have been translated somewhen in the early middle ages. But I chose Classical Latin just because it sounds so much better and archaic. With diphthongs and nasalization etc.
The fourth language is Coptic (the Sa'idic or Sahidic dialect), the language of Egypt before the Islamic conquest. I've just started learning it (to learn something outside Semitic but still Afro-Asiatic) and my pronunciation is based on the Introduction to Sahidic Coptic by Thomas Lambdin. I do not use the Greco-Bohairic pronunciation, which is nowadays used in Coptic liturgy (after all this is not Bohairic). And I haven't learned much about the reconstructed Coptic phonology, yet. But Lambdin's pronunciation seemed acceptable to me so far.
I might possibly make a sequel to this video... note the short explanation in the end of the video.

Semitic people
In linguistics and ethnology, was first used to refer to a language family of largely Middle Eastern origin, now called the Semitic languages. This family includes the ancient and modern forms of Akkadian, Amharic, Arabic, Aramaic, Ge'ez, Hebrew, Maltese, Phoenician, Tigre and Tigrinya among others.
As language studies are interwoven with cultural studies, the term also came to describe the extended cultures and ethnicities, as well as the history of these varied peoples as associated by close geographic and linguistic distribution.
The term Semite means a member of any of various ancient and modern Semitic-speaking peoples originating in the Near East, including; Akkadians (Assyrians and Babylonians), Eblaites, Ugarites, Canaanites, Phoenicians (including Carthaginians), Hebrews (Israelites and Samaritans), Ahlamu, Arameans, Chaldeans, Amorites, Moabites, Edomites, Hyksos, Arabs, Nabateans, Maganites, Shebans, Sutu, Ubarites, Dilmunites, Bahranis, Maltese, Mandaeans, Sabians, Mhallami, Amalekites, Palmyrans and Ethiopian Semites.
Etymology
The name Semite/Semitic comes from the Semitic root Sama or Sam, meaning " High" or "Risen", Semite or Semitic means " Sons of the Lord " Or " Sons of Heaven" Also meaning " Noble People ".
Origin
Ancient Semitic mythology Origin:
In ancient Semitic legends The Lord decided to be his sons on the earth For that Down his son Sam/Sama (God of heaven) to earth and Married him to Adma (goddess of earth) And named their sons Semite/Semitic.
a ceremony of divine Marriage Between Sam and Adma was celebrated in the spring and Was common among all ancient Semitic tribes And this tradition disappeared after the spread of Christianity and Islam.
Currently Mandaeans in Iraq are the only Semitic people celebrated the feast And called in the Mandaean religious calendar Festival Marriage of Heaven with Earth.
Biblical Origin
In the Bible The name Semite comes from Shem, the eldest of the three sons of Noah. In the Greek and Latin versions of the Bible, Shem becomes Sem, since neither Greek nor Latin has any way of representing the initial sound of the Hebrew name.
The Bible tells us that everyone on earth was drowned except for Noah and his family and that all mankind are descended from his three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. The lines of descent from the three of them, described in the tenth chapter of Genesis, represent a kind of mythologized ethnology, enumerating the peoples of antiquity whose names were known at the time when this chapter was written, and setting forth the relationships between them.

Semitic languages like Hebrew and Arabic evolved a unique way to write vowels... with consonants! See how in this episode of Thoth's Pill: an Animated History of Writing.
You're back in the ancient Middle East, where seemingly everyone's been passing around the Phoenician consonant alphabet. There's a problem with this abjad - sometimes those missing vowels cause issues. Instead of inventing vowels (like the Greeks did in the last episode), Semitic speakers use some of their consonants for vowels, too! This is the birth of "matres lectionis".
But that's not nearly enough for pickier scribes. See bickering scribes come up with a more detailed system, a system of vowel marks - dots and dashes surrounding consonants. These vowel pointers (harakat in Arabic, niqqud in Hebrew) explicitly indicate which consonants are followed by which vowels.

Dr. Michael Heiser is the academic editor for the Logos Bible Software, a Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible and Semitic Languages with expertise on Ancient Israel and Egyptology. He's also the author of the novel The Facade, and he runs several blogs including PaleoBabble, UFO Religions, and he was featured on Chris White's recent debunkumentary Ancient Aliens Debunked, Naked Bible Podcast. He also runs MEMRA (online institute for ancient languages and Biblical theology)
http://drmsh.com
This video is all 8 parts of his lecture from back in 2006.
Part 1: Introductions
Although the hype surrounding the DaVinci Code has left the mainstream
media, the ideas persist. Here, speaking in 2006 at the height of the
DaVinci controversy, ancient languages scholar and Biblical Hebrew
expert Michael Heiser gives us a solid and plain spoken introduction to
Gnosticism.
Part 2: Reliability of New Testament Scriptures (esp vs the Nag Hammadi)
Dr. Heiser compares the oldest scriptural texts with the gnostic texts and explains why the New Testament texts are reliable while the gnostic texts aren't.
Special attention is paid to the precise dating of New Testament texts, and serves as a primer for all serious students and teachers of the Bible.
Part 3: Were Jesus and Mary Madelene married?
Dr. Heiser compares the Gnostic Jesus with the Jesus of the Bible. Was Jesus, as a rabbi, required to marry? Was Mary his companion? His wife? Were these and other secrets buried along with Jesus?
These and other questions are examined. Relevant texts, including the gospel accounts and the gnostic texts, are examined. Mr. Heiser shows what is in the text and what isn't. You might just be surprised.
Part 4: Gnosticism and Women
Heiser offers an honest examination of the supposed "pro-woman" message often ascribed to the gnostics. Is gnosticism really "enlightened" in terms of womens' roles.
Looking at the actual texts the gnostics themselves wrote, their customs, rituals and spirituality, Heiser makes sense of the nonsense surrounding this ancient and mysterious religion's place for women.
Part 5: Neither Lord nor Christ?
The Belief in Jesus as God before The Council of Nicea and the Exalted Christ of Gnosticism. This is a refutation of two ideas put forth in The DaVinci Code: That Constantine invented the idea that Jesus was God at The Council of Nicea, and that the Gnostic texts portray Jesus as only a mortal man (hint: they do not).
Part 6: What Really happened at Nicea?
An examination of Constantine's spiritual commitments and the documentary evidence left to history concerning the proceedings at the Council of Nicea.
Part 7: The Conspiratorial Logic of The DaVinci Code and Jesus Bloodline Theorists
Part 8: Jumping the Shark from the Newsroom to the Ivory Tower: Assessing the Gospel of Judas Frenzy
Original individual videos can be found on AlienResistanceHQ Channel.

Mike Heiser has a Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible and Ancient Semitic Languages from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Mike has an M.A. in Ancient History and an M.A. in Hebrew Bible and Ancient Semitic Languages. He has taught biblical studies and biblical theology on the undergraduate level for eleven years. He has had a lifelong interest in the paranormal, particularly UFOlogy, and the subject of ET life. Mike has lectured frequently on those topics, specializing in critical evaluation of the belief that UFOs and aliens are found in ancient Near Eastern texts, including the Bible. He is an expert on divine beings and angels in the Hebrew Bible, Second Temple Jewish literature, and Canaanite texts. Mike holds a personal disdain for both intellectual snobbery, and the religious fear of critical thinking (and thinkers) -- both of which he feels tend to form an ungodly barrier between general academia, church leadership, and the public whom they should be serving. In that spirit, Heiser authored The Facade, a mind-blowing novelization of the above subjects, which makes his original perspectives and 20 years of highly credentialed scholarship easily accessible to lay audiences.

Theologian Michael S. Heiser, PhD Challenges Claims of The Da Vinci Code
Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code has become an international phenomena with 45 million books in print, and is coming to theaters May 19 in the major motion picture starring Tom Hanks. While presented as fiction, the novel makes claims of extensive research that are, at best, challenging to traditional Christian teachings. Among the ideas presented as fact in The Da Vinci Code are that Jesus fathered a child by Mary Magdalene (a bloodline that allegedly continues today), that the early Catholic church concealed this and invented the doctrine of Jesus' divinity, and that the church intentionally rejected any texts that hinted at this history from inclusion in the Bible, in part to suppress the role of women.
"The novel relies primarily on the teachings of Gnosticism, an early Christian sect," according to Bellingham-based theologian and Academic Editor for Logos Bible Software Dr. Michael S. Heiser, Ph.D. Heiser holds advanced degrees in Ancient History, Semitic Languages, and Hebrew Bible, and says he is very familiar with the Gnostic texts and the "conspiratorial" version of history The Da Vinci Codeis based upon.
He plans to examine, and where appropriate, to rebut, the claims of Brown's novel from both historical and theological perspectives via a one-day conference held at Hampton Inn's Fox Hall in Bellingham, Saturday April 22nd. Heiser will present a series of 45-minute lectures targeted at specific claims of the book. Scheduled sessions include an overview of Gnosticism, an examination of the evidence for Jesus' alleged marriage, a historical view of the idea that Jesus is God prior to Constantine's third-century declaration of such, the Gnostic view of women, and a working overview of how texts appearing in modern Bibles were selected.
Dr. Heiser discussed the claims of The Da Vinci Code for three hours in December before a national audience on the popular late-night radio show Coast to Coast AM with George Noory. At the request of an out-of-state sponsor* who heard the program (and is working with Faith Reformed Church in Bellingham, where Mike attends), he agreed to present the one-day conference to record for DVD.
