With Egypt reunited, it is up to our family to restore the once great city of Menat Khufu, while dealing with massive famine across the country... Menat Khufu, while peaceful, is tough in many ways. For one, the flood plain is very narrow and care must be taken to use all of the space effectively. You need a very large city here (7000 people) and you have just 2 exports: beer and linen. Other than that, you'll have to tax your population to get income. What's worse is that you have no access to manors so there's no way to get additional income, nor take down the massive amount of unemployment that you will get in this mission. Unlike most missions, this time don't bother feeding the populace yet. Focus mainly on the famine requests that start very early. You'll want about 4-5 Fig and Pomegranate Farms to deal with the early requests, as well as the terrible flooding quality here (building the temple complex to Osiris with the altar and oracle is a huge help). Make sure all food goes to a Storage Yard and not a granary to fulfil the requests! Eventually, the requests will taper off and you can concentrate on other matters. The best way to play this mission is to grow it slowly. Build settlements only when the amount of unemployment is low (ageing your population deliberately is a good idea) so that city sentiment won't be too low as a result of all the unemployed people. If you need to get rid of unemployment, build as many Weavers and Breweries as your farm supports. Without blessings, a flax or barley farm produces 800 units, enough to cover 4 of the respective buildings, but you'll want to massively overproduce both to cover for the bad floods. In terms of flood plain usage, all the flood plain on the West side should be dedicated to food production, with the East side being used for Flax and Barley. Any remaining space can be used for food production. Don't neglect your culture rating! Even though you can't build Manors, you are still expected to provide access to Senet Houses, Mortuaries and Libraries! Also don't forget that you will have to provide the Small Mudbrick Pyramid that exists in the mission with a large number of burial provisions. Papyrus can be imported from Men-nefer (do so in a large amount (about 5000 scrolls should do). This is one of the few missions in which you will have to open all of the trade routes to get the required items. Men-nefer is your buyer of beer and the seller of papyrus, Dakhla is your buyer of Linen and the seller of Wood, and Waset is your seller of Clay, Pottery and Granite. Granite is needed to build the 2 small obelisks you'll need. Granite should be imported into a separate area of the city and disconnected from the rest of it. When you get the opportunity to do so, import clay to make pottery. While it can't be exported, you should be able to overproduce on Pottery from the imported clay. Once the obelisks are built, you should be closing in on your other goals. If not, just keep building housing blocks and evolving them up to Fancy Residence, until you reach them. In this part, we get the economy stabilised and build the Obelisks. After that, we just start building housing blocks to reach the 7000 population goal and close in on our other targets to win the mission!
