For several decades the rhetoric about the labor force generated by the immigrant community has been a constant in the struggle for immigration reform. There has always been talk about the possibility of making a call to stop production and make the absence of the immigrant labor force felt. However, it wasn’t until the social media announcement about “a day without immigrants” went viral, that the community began organizing to make an impact on their contribution to the economy.
