Merkel meets Italian Premier Matteo Renzi; justifies sanctions against Russia
The European Union (EU) slapped travel bans and asset freezes on Monday on 21 people from Russia and Crimea whom they linked to the push for the secession of Ukraine's strategic Black Sea peninsula.
The sanctions came hours after Crimea's parliament declared the region an independent state, following its residents' overwhelming vote on Sunday to break away from Ukraine and seek to join Russia.

Domenica Pate, Antonia Falcone, Paola Romi
INDEPENDENT RESEARCHER
At the beginning of 2013 a structured network of archaeologists who focused on the popularisation and online communication
of archaeology was still missing in Italy. Since then much has changed, with old and new ventures trying to make up for deeply
felt deficiencies in the way archaeology is communicated to the wider public, off- and online.
The ever growing network of Italian “archaeobloggers”, as they called themselves from an idea by Cinzia Dal Maso, met for the
first time during the XVI Mediterranean Exchange of Archaeological Tourism in 2013: the declared goal was not only to take stock of the situation, but also to decide upon shared objectives. As a result, they organised participation in the fourth Day of Archaeology and from that experience a new editorial project ensued, “Archaeostories. Unconventional Handbook of
Experiencing Archaeology”, edited by Cinzia Dal Maso and Francesco Ripanti, that will be released in March 2015 and is
thought as a trait-d’union between off- and online experiences in communicating archaeology.
Simultaneously, Italian archaeobloggers became aware of their role in giving voice, alongside professional associations, to the
day-by-day issues of archaeologists all over the country, taking part in the ongoing debate about the profession and workers’
rights.
This paper will outline the changes made in communicating Italian archaeology online and describe how in Italy the Internet is becoming more and more the framework in which to address concerns about the profession as well as a fruitful laboratory for
the inception of spontaneous and organised communication experiments.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the decision to impose sanctions had been a difficult one, but that recent developments had forced the bloc to act.
"We want talks and a diplomatic solution but international rights were violated when the so-called referendum took place yesterday. It forced us to go this way. I think it is good that Europe acted united," she told reporters after meeting with Italy's new Premier Matteo Renzi.
EU foreign ministers threatened even tougher measures when EU leaders open a two-day summit on Thursday if Russia does not move to ease the crisis.
But the EU insisted it wanted to tread carefully to leave open the diplomatic options for Russia to engage in talks with the Ukraine government.
"It is clear that sanctions damage everyone," said Renzi who had travelled to Berlin to outline his plans for a fundamental structural reform of the Italian economy by 2018.
If the crisis escalates further, measures could include freezing assets of Russian business people, interrupting the arms trade and other financial sanctions.
Western allies are calling on Putin to 'de-escalate' the crisis, support Ukrainian plans for political reform, return Russian troops in Crimea to their barracks and halt advances into Ukraine and military build-ups along its borders.

ETERNAL CITY OF ROME SHALL BE PURGED
Veronica - Now Michael is coming forward, and he's pointing also to our right side of the sky with his spear, and there is appearing the outline of Italy. It's a boot-like outline, and there's a star, a star that's dimming right on the boot. And this voice is booming very loud--I know it's Michael.

THE BOOK OF TRUTH
December 11th, 2013
"The false prophet will introduce a powerful ecumenical faith and this will satisfy every heretic. The majority of those in my Son’s Church will be deceived, but almost one-half of my Son’s sacred servants will refuse to swear to the final oath, which will be falsely declared as one to the Holy Eucharist. The Holy Eucharist and its desecration will be at the heart of all discontent and dissidence. Then as the false miracles will be accorded to him, many of the world’s celebrities will surround the false prophet seeking favour in his court. It will be then that he will set up an honours list and they will be granted honorary doctorates in the false prophet’s newly renovated church, which will be but a shell of the former. All will accept their prizes for the great works of charity, which they presided over, under the direction of the imposter. Each will sing the praises of the other, until they will publicly declare the false prophet to be a living saint, because of the so-called miracles they will say he created as God’s servant. And then, he and the antichrist will control much of the world, but Russia and Asia will not be involved, for these two empires will rise up against the New Babylon until Rome is destroyed".

Matthew 7:15-20
Douay-Rheims
15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 By their fruits you shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit, and the evil tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can an evil tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit, shall be cut down, and shall be cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits you shall know them.

SHALL FLEE IN TERROR
"Unless you pray more for your bishops, there will be chaos in Rome: bishop against bishop, cardinal against cardinal, while satan stands in the midst of them. Blood shall flow in the streets of Rome. Your Pastor, the leader of your sheep, shall flee in terror." - Jesus, July 15, 1976

SEEK TO DETHRONE HIM
"My child, how often we have sent—been sent from Heaven to caution you of the days to come, to prepare you to defend your Faith. You will go forward as lights in the darkness, faithful and true. Defend your Vicar from those who seek to dethrone him and place upon the Seat of Peter one who is of dark secrets, an enemy agent from the abyss." - St. Peter, May 30, 1974

St. Michael - "Discord and strife, and blood shall flow in the streets with revolution. The Eternal City of Rome shall be purged--communism." - November 22, 1976

As legend has it, Rome, Italy, was founded by the twin brothers, Romulus and Remus, in 700 B.C. The former Caput Mundi, or Capital of the World, sits beneath Palatine Hill, where the ruins of its original incarnation are open for exploration.
No Rome tour is complete without stopping by the remains of the Temple of Saturn and Arch of Septimus, both located in the Roman Forum. Get in touch with your inner gladiator and stop by the Colosseum, a relic of Roman bloodsports and perhaps the most recognizable element of the city.
Toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain to ensure you’ll return to Rome one day; don’t toss in two coins unless you’re ready to fall in love with a Roman. Continue your Rome sightseeing in St. Peter’s Square, home of St. Peter’s Basilica. The world’s largest church, designed by Michelangelo, is both a remarkable structure and a tribute to faith. You can look down from the famous dome to the Holy Square, which is usually filled with the faithful looking to obtain a blessing from the Pope. After this, it’s just a few steps to restaurants filled with Italian food. Forget coming back to Rome – you’ll never want to leave.

Travel video about destination Roma in Italy.
Roma Aeterna, eternal city and ancient centre of the world.
The Piazza Navona is situated in one of the Italian capital's most beautiful squares in a city that has always been a dream destination for travelers from all over the world. Three large fountains adorn the large oval square that was built above the ruins of a Domitian stadium that dates back to the 3rd century A.D.
The Romans had a special regard for fountains, the most famous of which is the Fontana Di Trevi. It was designed by Nicolo Salvi for the façade of the Palazzo Poli.
The Via Appia Antica was the most important street in ancient Rome. It connected the southern area with the main city and even today, one can walk over its ancient cobblestones.
Pope Gregory XIII had the Palazzo Del Quirinale built as his summer residence but it was not long after that the Italian monarchs acquired it as their Renaissance palace. Today it is the residence of Italy's President and the daily changing of the guards ceremony is still a popular attraction.
The 17th century St. Peter's Square is the most beautiful square in the world and is situated in the centre of the Vatican, an autonomous Church State in the heart of Rome that also contains the imposing and breathtaking Petersdom, the largest Christian church in the world.
The allure of this city lies in its combination of chaos and joie de vivre, elegance and creativity. Rome is a complete work of art!

Come join me on my trip to the beautiful city of Venice in Italy, which is considered t be one of the greatest tourist attractions in the world.
Veneice is a city in the north eastern part of the italian country right at the Adriatic within the province of Venetia and is often called La Serenissima.
The city counts 270.884 inhabitants, with only 62.000 people living in the historic centre, called centro storico and 30.000 more on other island in the lagoon. There are more than 100 islands in the lagoon of Venice.
The republic of Venice has been an important political and economic power in europa for about 1000 years, but lost its independence in 1897, when Napoleon set foot on the well known St. Mark's Square and forced the supreme authority to surrender.
Today the leading branch it tourism. In 2006 over 14.000.000 people visited the city to witness magnificent sights like the St. Mark's Basilica, the Campanile or the beautiful Rialto Bridge.

The gritty maze of the medieval city that makes up the core of Genoa is both beauty and the beast. The grandeur and heritage of this once great trading city lives side by side with modern vice and decrepitude. The odious smelling alleys give way to modern and chic restaurants and shops. Genoa is one of the most difficult of cities to describe and is very different from more generally travelled Italian cities like Rome, Florence or Venice.
My Grandfathers WWII RAF flight record for those that might be interested - the campaign against Genoa looks to be one of his earlier flights:

wn.com/2 Days In Genoa, Italy A Travel Guide
For more aerial drone shots of Genoa, please see Stefano McCoy's channel:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsgQjacVyrNWo5vSmjsdAzQ
The gritty maze of the medieval city that makes up the core of Genoa is both beauty and the beast. The grandeur and heritage of this once great trading city lives side by side with modern vice and decrepitude. The odious smelling alleys give way to modern and chic restaurants and shops. Genoa is one of the most difficult of cities to describe and is very different from more generally travelled Italian cities like Rome, Florence or Venice.
My Grandfathers WWII RAF flight record for those that might be interested - the campaign against Genoa looks to be one of his earlier flights:

Take a tour of Top 10 Travel Attractions of Rome, Italy - part of the World's Greatest Attractions series by GeoBeats.
Hey, this is your travel host, Naomi. I would like to show you the top 10 attractions of Rome.
Number 10: Trastevere, a perfect opportunity to get away from tourists. If you want to experience the local Roman day to day life, you will find it in the distinct Trastevere neighborhood.
Number 9: Mausoleum of Hadrian. Constructed by the Roman emperor Hadrian for himself, the building has served many functions.
Number 8: Roman Forum, among the most significant ruins in Rome today. During the time of the Roman Empire this was a bustling city center with markets, banks and government buildings.
Number 7: Spanish Steps, probably the most important steps in the world. They draw visitors from all over.
Number 6: Piazza Navona, this is a large and popular square. About 1900 years ago this was the site of a stadium which was later converted into a piazza.
Number 5: Piazza del Popolo, another historic and lively piazza of Rome. It is surrounded by beautiful structures. In Italian, Piazza del Popolo literally means people's square.
Number 4: Trevi Fountain, a grand fountain in the heart of Rome. You will not find a more gorgeous fountain anywhere else.
Number 3: Pantheon. Constructed nearly 2,000 years ago, Pantheon is one of the most well-known historical buildings of Rome. You will find it to be remarkably preserved.
Number 2: Vatican. It has been the home of the Pope for hundreds of years. Even though it is situated within Rome, Vatican is an independent country, in fact, the smallest in the world.
Number 1: Colosseum. No visit to Rome is complete without a visit to the Colosseum, the site for the gladiator fights. It is perhaps the most important symbol of the mighty Roman Empire.
Keep watching our travel series. Ciao.

Travel video about destination Napoli.
Napoli is the capital of Campania in southern Italy where hustle and bustle combines with serenity and joie de vivre. The Centro Storico Monumentale is located around the harbour and the Piazza Del Plebiscito embodies both grandeur and vastness, in contrast to the narrow confines of the old town. Close to the harbour is the mighty Castel Nuovo, its graceful entrance arch seemingly hemmed-in by two awkward-looking towers. Its construction began during the reign of Charles The First but Alfons Of Aragon subsequently had the castle completely rebuilt. From the centre of the town a small causeway leads to the tiny island of Borgo Santa Lucia. The island is dominated by a building which in ancient times was the residence of Lucullus, namely the Castel Dell´Ovo, the oldest fortress in Naples. The Via Partenope, with its magnificent buildings and luxury hotels on the coast near Santa Lucia, developed by land reclamation in the nineteenth century. A walk along the Caracciolo coastal road towards Mergellina passes the Parco Communale with palm trees, sculptures and fountains. Measuring four square kilometres, Procida is the smallest island off Naples, densely populated and with a long history and the picturesque Marina Grande at the Cattolocio Ferry Port typifies relaxed island life. Ischia, the island of Titan Tiphoios, is the largest of the three islands in the Gulf Of Naples, each one now being a very popular tourist destination. "A piece of heaven that fell to Earth”, that is how the Neapolitans rightly refer to their beautiful city and its surroundings.

The History of Tarot
A lecture on the history of Tarot cards, their roots in Hermetic NeoPlatonism, and their adoption into Western Occultism. I start with a little theory of how tradition and gnosis interact in history. Then I discuss the origins of Hermeticism in ancient Alexandria. I outline the origin of Tarot cards in Renaissance Italy, and their adoption by occultists in 18th and 19th Century France. The lect

The Real Face of Jesus - History Channel
Please Enjoy and Subscribe. Thanks!
The Shroud of Turin, a 14-foot cloth in which many believe Jesus Christ was buried, may be the most studied artifact in history—and the most controversial. For centuries, scientists and historians have pored over this bloodstained piece of linen that bears the faint outline of a crucified man, hoping to uncover what the image represents and how it was created.

The lecture proceeds to The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn's role in bringing Tarot to the English-speaking world and integrating it into a highly systematic, practicable presentation of Western Occultism. I close with some musings on what the history of Tarot can tell us about history in general, and our role in it.

The GPM utility-scale report analyzes PV competitiveness in wholesale energy markets and provides an outline of the electricity regulation in 8 different countries: Chile, Honduras, Mexico, Morocco, Italy, South Africa, Texas and Turkey.
Like the first edition of the GPM utility-scale, this GPM issue focuses the analysis on the generation parity. As such, the report determines a theoretical tariff which fulfils profitability requirements of investors. This required tariff is compared to local wholesale prices in order to determine if generation parity exists in the country. The methodology for such exercise will be explained and the conclusions and lessons will be presented.

The GPM utility-scale report analyzes PV competitiveness in wholesale energy markets and provides an outline of the electricity regulation in six different countries (Chile, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Turkey and USA (Texas)).
While previous GPM reports were oriented to residential and commercial customers operating under a net metering scheme, this GPM issue focuses the analysis in the generation parity. As such, the report determines a theoretical tariff which fulfils profitability requirements of investors. This required tariff is compared to local wholesale prices in order to determine if generation parity exists in the country.
The methodology for such exercise will be explained and the conclusions and lessons will be presented.

The first documented reference to the shroud dates back to the 14th century. Historical records suggest it changed hands many times until 1578, when it wound up in its current home—the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist in Turin, Italy. The Catholic Church has never taken an official position on the cloth’s authenticity, but the Vatican has made statements attesting to its value and arranged for public viewings.
The advent of photography in the late 19th century forever altered the course of the shroud’s history. In 1898, a lawyer named Secondo Pia took the first known photograph of the cloth, and his negative revealed new details—including strikingly clear facial features—that could not be observed with the naked eye. Scientific interest in the relic immediately picked up. In 1902, the French anatomist Yves Delage, an agnostic, inspected the photographs and pronounced that the figure on the shroud was indeed Jesus Christ.
The first direct examinations of the cloth were conducted in the 1970s, most famously by the Shroud of Turin Research Project (STURP), a team of scientists led by physicist John P. Jackson of the University of Colorado. The group found that the markings on the cloth were consistent with a crucified body and that the stains were real human blood; they also suggested that the image’s shading patterns contained three-dimensional information. They could not explain how the imprint ended up on the fabric in the first place.
In 1988, scientists removed a swatch of the shroud for radiocarbon testing. Three independent laboratories concluded that the material originated between 1260 and 1390, leading some to deem it inauthentic. Since then, however, further studies have cast doubt on those results, suggesting that the shroud may indeed date back to the time of Jesus Christ’s life and death.
In March 2010, researchers unveiled a revolutionary radiocarbon dating method that could allow scientists to safely establish accurate ages for precious artifacts like the Shroud of Turin. Unlike traditional carbon dating, the new process does not require samples; instead, the entire object is exposed to an electrically charged gas that gently oxidizes its surface without causing damage. This means that, someday soon, the world may have a more precise estimate of the Shroud of Turin’s real age.

From his childhood dream of being an ‘inventor,’ to his university studies in engineering and quantum physics, Carlo’s presentation will outline what led him to become a scientist. He will show why physics and maths are useful and fun, and challenge the common misconception that sees them as being ‘hard’ and ‘boring’. Through examples and personal experience he will demonstrate the power of proposing new ideas and the beauty of discovering new concepts, while presenting engineering as a novel breakthrough technology. He will show that while studying science may be tough at times, it is (almost) always rewarding and it is worth understanding irrespective of the type of profession one is interested in.
Carlo Bradac was born in Milan, Italy and after graduating from high school he went on to study physics and engineering at the Polytechnic of Milan (Italy) where he achieved his bachelor degree. He also completed his master degree in Nanotechnologies and Physical Technologies, after which he worked as an Application Engineer and as a Process Automation & Control Engineer. In 2008, he was offered a Macquarie Research Excellence Scholarship (MQRES) from Macquarie University, where he completed his PhD in Physics. His research focuses on colour centres in diamonds and on their possible applications in quantum information technologies, biomedical imaging and high-resolution magnetometry.

Fall of Rome in 476CE
Roman legions and bureaucrats called back to Rome for its last defense
Division of the empire into western and eastern halves
Continuity of Roman Empire in Byzantium (east) until 1453CE
Collapse of the Roman World
Latin—Roman language, continuity—became the "Romance Languages"—Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, Romanian
Roman Catholic Church—centralized church power in Rome
Collapse of the Roman World
Power Vacuum—a sudden loss of centralized political and military power—anarchy!
Vikings—raiders from Scandinavia, STEM: longboats, raided monasteries and small cities/villages
Rising illiteracy, violence, starvation—The Dark Ages
Medieval Politics
Fuedalism
Chain of Being
Manorialism
ron-tipped plows, Three-Field System
African wheat, alfalfa (for horses) from Persia, horse collar possibly imported from China or locally developed
Charles Martel, The Hammer
Charlemagne (Charles the Great)
Charlemagne crowned "Holy Roman Emperor" by the Pope
Reorganization of Europe: The Magna Carta
King John of England
Limited Government—the first step to modern democracy
Three Estates—represented by parliament—the church, the nobles, and city leaders
Reorganization of Europe: Economic Changes
Movement of people into cities
Less serfdom under large crop surpluses and some early urban manufacturing
Reorganization of Europe: Economic Reforms
Continued breakdown of manorialism and the freeing of serfs
Banking—Jews could loan money at interest—forbidden to Christians
Later relaxation of anti-usury (loaning money at interest) laws in places like the Netherlands and Italy
Banking=Credit=Investment
Paper money and centralized coinage—allowed for easier trade over long distances
Reorganization of Europe: Economic Reforms
Continued low involvement of government in economics
Guilds—organizations of workers—e.g. butchers, bakers, and candlestick makers—who controlled who could make what and what would be charged
Reorganization of Europe: Religious Reforms
