Ispica (Sicilian: Spaccafurnu, Latin: Hyspicae Fundus) is a city and comune in the south of Sicily, Italy. It is 30 km from Ragusa, 50 km from Syracuse, and 90 km away from La Valletta, on the coast of Malta. The first mention in a document of Ispica occurred in 1093, in a list of churches and ecclesiastic departments for administrative purposes, but the territory has been colonized since the Bronze Age.
The city is located on a hill. The main economical activity consists of farming, especially tomatoes, olives, vineyards. There is 10 km of coastline, most of which is sand and dunes, and an island (Porri island) at 2 km from coast.
The town also hosts examples of Sicilian Baroque architecture such as the Vincenzo Sinatra's Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, the Annunziata Church, the Carmine monastery, and the St. Barthelemy cathedral.
Ispica was destroyed by an earthquake in 1693 and rebuilt on its present site.
The Cava Ispica (Cave of Ispica) consists of a series of housing units carved in rocky formations. Built prior to the Greek colonization, these houses were used until the end of the nineteenth century. This cave, the most important in Eastern Sicily, is 13 km long and is divided among two other comunes, Modica and Rosolini.

Nei tempi antichi erano una delle poche occasioni per incontrarsi ed indossare l'abito migliore.
I riti della Settimana Santa di Ispica sono tra i più importanti del Val di Noto.
Durante il Giovedì Santo del 1950, festa del Cristo flagellato alla colonna,
detto "Patri a Culonna",si conobbero, ancora bambini, Giuseppina e Salvatore.
Tra i due nacque prima un'amicizia, poi l'amore poi una famiglia.
Nel 2006, Vincenzo, figlio di Giuseppina e Salvatore,perde il lavoro ed emigra in Germania con la moglie portando con se la mamma, ormai vedova.
Il figlio di Vincenzo si chiama Edoardo ed è nato in Germania
Edoardo conosce la Sicilia ed Ispica solo grazie ai racconti della nonna.
Vincenzo, deluso, non ne vuole più sentire parlare.

Vila Magdala is a 5 Star Luxury Bed and Breakfast Hotel. Located in center of Bath, Villa Magdala is a Boutique B&B;, which all rooms are stylishly refurbished. Very special breakfast, with 12 cooked dishes. There's the usual full English, as well as a buffet of cereals, yogurts, juices and breads. But the chef at the Villa Magdala does more than the usual fry up. The seasonally changing menu might include waffles with maple syrup and bananas, buttermilk pancakes with grilled fruit, honey and mascarpone, or a lemon and blueberry breakfast fool with homemade granola, greek yoghurt, lemon curd and blueberries. A Bucks Fizz (orange juice and champagne) is included.

The seasonally changing menu might include waffles with maple syrup and bananas, buttermilk pancakes with grilled fruit, honey and mascarpone, or a lemon and blueberry breakfast fool with homemade granola, greek yoghurt, lemon curd and blueberries. A Bucks Fizz (orange juice and champagne) is included.
