I believe I'm close to exhausting all possibile variations of BA 777 aircraft flying to or from Barbados, so this set will probably be my last on this particular theme.
When I first saw this video on the small screen of my camera I thought it had great potential, however at full size it is apparent that I lose focus at a couple of key points due mainly to imperfections on the surface of the window combined with perhaps injudicious use of the zoom function.
In addition it was VERY difficult to keep the camera steady during the last portion of the video and so it is somewhat shaky. Sorry!
A portion of this video is pillarboxed (saving you having to twist your neck or screen through 90 degrees!) to handle my turning the camera vertically just prior to landing - this was the only way to include the engine. The limited width is due to my editing software maintaining the aspect ratio throughout. Hopefully this gives an interesting variation of the typical Barbados landing, using the huge Rolls Royce Trent 895 port engine as a reference.
The view of the island is much better than in my last such video due to my having a better seat, the bright and sunny conditions and the fact that the aircraft took a much wider line in.
The flight was BA2153 from London Gatwick to Barbados & Grenada, and it was flown by aircraft G-YMMF which is a Boeing 777-236ER with Rolls Royce Trent 895 engines.
On landing the aircraft parks next to G-VIIA (GE90 equipped 777-236) which flew the BA2155 flight a bit earlier in the day. Incidentially I did my return flight on this aircraft.
Takeoff of British Airways operated Boeing 777 aircraft from London Gatwick to Barbados. The aircraft is a 3 classs 777-236ER with Rolls Royce Trent 895 engines.
Afraid I can't remember the registration - It may have been G-YMMF.

This clip presents raw footage of two BA 777 aircraft on the apron at Grantley Adams International airport in Barbados, on a typically bright and sunny afternoon.
The aircraft on the left is the RR Trent 895 based 777-236ER (reg G-YMMF) that had just flown the BA2153 flight from London Gatwick. You can just glimpse the new crew on their way out to fly the aircraft on to Grenada.
The aircraft on the right is the GE 90 based 777-236 (reg G-VIIA) that is in the final stages of preparation for the BA2154 flight to London Gatwick.

Aircraft was FREEWARE from the fantastic model package provided from Thomas Ruth. Must have. Also includes a fully working VC. Sounds were a separate Rolls Royce FREEWARE download. Scenery was also FREEWARE.

The one and only Buisness Jet in the register of Barbados landed at Bern Airport in Switzerland. What an exotic visitor! This Gulfstream Aerospace G550 carries the registration mark 8P-MSD.
The G550 is an ultra long range business jet. Distances of up to 13,000 km which means a 14 hour non-stop flight, is achievable with this aircraft. It is powered by two Rolls-Royce BR710 turbofan jet engines. Cruising speed is 0.85 Mach / 904 km/h. The impressive wingspan and the huge engines of the Gulfstream G550 always amazes me.

This video shows the takeoff of the BA2263 service from London Gatwick to Kingston Jamaica.
Sadly due to lack of time I was unable to do my usual coverage of the aircraft on the stand. This flight was flown by aircraft G-YMME which is a Boeing 777-236 powered by Rolls Royce Trent 895 engines.
This flight was fully loaded - not an empty seat for love or money! I was standing near the gate agent desks at the front of the packed gate area and overheard at least 6 lucky people receiving cabin upgrades.
The heay loading is reflected in the engine tone during the take-off and climbout. It was really LOUD. I've flown in RR powered 777s before yet this was a first for me. This engine sound is best enjoyed through headphones.
The sound was superbly captured by an external microphone attached to my Sony NEX-5T camera. The microphone was set to "wide" meaning that it also included a lot of the ambient noise in the cabin. Sadly this camera model overheats and shuts down after around 18 minutes of continuous use so I had to err on the side of caution and could not cover the complete taxi.
Before this flight I was most certainly leaning to preferring the GE- 90 engines over the RR Trents, but I must say the RR Trent 895 sounds really cool in this video.

It has been a very long time since my last video. I've resumed now that BA have relaxed their rules on the use of portable electronic equipment during takeoff and landing.
This video is of a recent trip to Jamaica. The flight BA2263 was flown on this occasion by aircraft G-YMMS which is a Boeing 777 powered by Rolls Royce Trent 895 engines.
The journey is rather long at around 10 hours give or take depending on the prevailing winds and has an additional first officer (3 pilots) along due to the length.
All footage was shot by my trusty Lumix TZ10 camera - my only complaint is that it is poor at reproducing sounds at really loud volumes such as during the take-off roll - I suspect this is software related. Next time I'll take my semi-pro camcorder along.
Hope you enjoy. Hope I get a GE-90 powered aircraft next time around - luck of the draw on this route.

Though my last video

has been well received to date, I was disappointed by the audio of my Panasonic Lumix TZ10 compact camera. It does a great job of recording HD video but the audio is simply not up to capturing the nuances of engine startup and the take-off roll.
So on my most recent Jamaic trip I took along the heavy artillery :) - a much larger Panasonic HDC-HS300 semi pro camcorder with built-in Dolby Digital 5.1 microphone. It does a fantastic job of reproducing the audio - in particular the deep bass of the engine start. For best results I recommend you use headphones or quality speakers.
This flight was flown by aircraft G-VIIP, which is a Boeing 777-236 powered by 2 x General Electric GE90-85B turbofan engines. I flew on the Rolls Royce powered G-YMMR on the way out -

As BA have relaxed their restrictions on the use of portable electronic equipment (other Airlines please take note ...) I was able to capture the complete pushback, engine start, taxi and takeoff into a fantastic sunset.
The climb-out view of Jamaica over the southeast corner, as seen from the left hand side of the aircraft is simply awesome - beats Barbados I'm afraid! The flight was pretty heavily loaded and the take-off on this occasion seemed particularly powerful.
This is the full 2.8Gb raw AVCHD video from my camcorder.
Apologies for the voice that can be heard at the beginning of the video. This was the passenger sitting adjacent to me, who was still on his mobile phone at the beginning of the pushback.

REVISITED: BA 777 approach and landing into Barbados
I believe I'm close to exhausting all possibile variations of BA 777 aircraft flying to or from Barbados, so this set will probably be my last on this particular theme. When I first saw this video on the small screen of my camera I thought it had great potential, however at full size it is apparent that I lose focus at a couple of key points due mainly to imperfections on the surface of the window combined with perhaps injudicious use of the zoom function. In addition it was VERY difficult to keep the camera steady during the last portion of the video and so it is somewhat shaky. Sorry! A portion of this video is pillarboxed (saving you having to twist your neck or screen through 90 degrees!) to handle my turning the camera vertically just prior to landing - this was the only wa...

This clip presents raw footage of two BA 777 aircraft on the apron at Grantley Adams International airport in Barbados, on a typically bright and sunny afternoon. The aircraft on the left is the RR Trent 895 based 777-236ER (reg G-YMMF) that had just flown the BA2153 flight from London Gatwick. You can just glimpse the new crew on their way out to fly the aircraft on to Grenada. The aircraft on the right is the GE 90 based 777-236 (reg G-VIIA) that is in the final stages of preparation for the BA2154 flight to London Gatwick. A classic Rolls Royce vs General Electric faceoff :)

Gulfstream Aerospace G550 from Barbados Take-Off at Bern Airport
The one and only Buisness Jet in the register of Barbados landed at Bern Airport in Switzerland. What an exotic visitor! This Gulfstream Aerospace G550 carries the registration mark 8P-MSD. The G550 is an ultra long range business jet. Distances of up to 13,000 km which means a 14 hour non-stop flight, is achievable with this aircraft. It is powered by two Rolls-Royce BR710 turbofan jet engines. Cruising speed is 0.85 Mach / 904 km/h. The impressive wingspan and the huge engines of the Gulfstream G550 always amazes me. British Airways 777 - Full power RR takeoff to Kingston Jamaica - quality sound.
This video shows the takeoff of the BA2263 service from London Gatwick to Kingston Jamaica. Sadly due to lack of time I was unable to do my usual coverage of the aircraft on the stand. This flight was flown by aircraft G-YMME which is a Boeing 777-236 powered by Rolls Royce Trent 895 engines. This flight was fully loaded - not an empty seat for love or money! I was standing near the gate agent desks at the front of the packed gate area and overheard at least 6 lucky people receiving cabin upgrades. The heay loading is reflected in the engine tone during the take-off and climbout. It was really LOUD. I've flown in RR powered 777s before yet this was a first for me. British Airways 777 London Gatwick takeoff and Kingston, Jamaica Landing
It has been a very long time since my last video. I've resumed now that BA have relaxed their rules on the use of portable electronic equipment during takeoff and landing. This video is of a recent trip to Jamaica. The flight BA2263 was flown on this occasion by aircraft G-YMMS which is a Boeing 777 powered by Rolls Royce Trent 895 engines. The journey is rather long at around 10 hours give or take depending on the prevailing winds and has an additional first officer (3 pilots) along due to the length. All footage was shot by my trusty Lumix TZ10 camera - my only complaint is that it is poor at reproducing sounds at really loud volumes such as during the take-off roll - I suspect this is software related. British Airways 777 - flight 2262 - full takeoff and climb out from Kingston Jamaica
Though my last video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kApJrVqhcDU has been well received to date, I was disappointed by the audio of my Panasonic Lumix TZ10 compact camera. It does a great job of recording HD video but the audio is simply not up to capturing the nuances of engine startup and the take-off roll. So on my most recent Jamaic trip I took along the heavy artillery :) - a much larger Panasonic HDC-HS300 semi pro camcorder with built-in Dolby Digital 5.1 microphone. It does a fantastic job of reproducing the audio - in particular the deep bass of the engine start. For best results I recommend you use headphones or quality speakers. This flight was flown by aircraft G-VIIP, which is a Boeing 777-236 powered by 2 x General Electric GE90-85B turbofan engines. I flew on the Rolls ...

When I first saw this video on the small screen of my camera I thought it had great potential, however at full size it is apparent that I lose focus at a couple of key points due mainly to imperfections on the surface of the window combined with perhaps injudicious use of the zoom function.
In addition it was VERY difficult to keep the camera steady during the last portion of the video and so it is somewhat shaky. Sorry!
A portion of this video is pillarboxed (saving you having to twist your neck or screen through 90 degrees!) to handle my turning the camera vertically just prior to landing - this was the only way to include the engine. The limited width is due to my editing software maintaining the aspect ratio throughout. Hopefully this gives an interesting variation of the typical Barbados landing, using the huge Rolls Royce Trent 895 port engine as a reference.
The view of the island is much better than in my last such video due to my having a better seat, the bright and sunny conditions and the fact that the aircraft took a much wider line in.
The flight was BA2153 from London Gatwick to Barbados & Grenada, and it was flown by aircraft G-YMMF which is a Boeing 777-236ER with Rolls Royce Trent 895 engines.

Sadly due to lack of time I was unable to do my usual coverage of the aircraft on the stand. This flight was flown by aircraft G-YMME which is a Boeing 777-236 powered by Rolls Royce Trent 895 engines.

Sadly this camera model overheats and shuts down after around 18 minutes of continuous use so I had to err on the side of caution and could not cover the complete taxi.
Before this flight I was most certainly leaning to preferring the GE- 90 engines over the RR Trents, but I must say the RR Trent 895 sounds really cool in this video.

This video is of a recent trip to Jamaica. The flight BA2263 was flown on this occasion by aircraft G-YMMS which is a Boeing 777 powered by Rolls Royce Trent 895 engines.
The journey is rather long at around 10 hours give or take depending on the prevailing winds and has an additional first officer (3 pilots) along due to the length.
All footage was shot by my trusty Lumix TZ10 camera - my only complaint is that it is poor at reproducing sounds at really loud volumes such as during the take-off roll - I suspect this is software related. Next time I'll take my semi-pro camcorder along.
Hope you enjoy. Hope I get a GE-90 powered aircraft next time around - luck of the draw on this route.

It has been a very long time since my last video. I've resumed now that BA have relaxed their rules on the use of portable electronic equipment during takeoff and landing.

has been well received to date, I was disappointed by the audio of my Panasonic Lumix TZ10 compact camera. It does a great job of recording HD video but the audio is simply not up to capturing the nuances of engine startup and the take-off roll.
So on my most recent Jamaic trip I took along the heavy artillery :) - a much larger Panasonic HDC-HS300 semi pro camcorder with built-in Dolby Digital 5.1 microphone. It does a fantastic job of reproducing the audio - in particular the deep bass of the engine start. For best results I recommend you use headphones or quality speakers.
This flight was flown by aircraft G-VIIP, which is a Boeing 777-236 powered by 2 x General Electric GE90-85B turbofan engines. I flew on the Rolls Royce powered G-YMMR on the way out -

As BA have relaxed their restrictions on the use of portable electronic equipment (other Airlines please take note ...) I was able to capture the complete pushback, engine start, taxi and takeoff into a fantastic sunset.
The climb-out view of Jamaica over the southeast corner, as seen from the left hand side of the aircraft is simply awesome - beats Barbados I'm afraid! The flight was pretty heavily loaded and the take-off on this occasion seemed particularly powerful.

Apologies for the voice that can be heard at the beginning of the video. This was the passenger sitting adjacent to me, who was still on his mobile phone at the beginning of the pushback.

St. Lucia is a sovereign island country in the eastern Caribbean Sea on the boundary with the Atlantic Ocean. Part of the Lesser Antilles, it is located north/northeast of the island of Saint Vincent, northwest of Barbados and south of Martinique.
