America are well know for their soft rock recordings 'Horse With No Name', 'Ventura Highway' and 'Tin Man' classics, however, the group had an appeal to Soul artists and fans (judging by the cover versions of their songs over the years...John Edwards etc.). The group also gave George Martin something to be getting on with, once the Fab Four had gone their separate ways in 1970. 'Are You There?' has echoes of 'Westchester Lady' going on in there someplace. Always liked this track, and wondered why it never received any attention at all, over the years. Thought I'd correct that here. Great group, whose music is timeless. This great song, from AMERICA'S Harbor album, was written about Dan Peek (formerly of AMERICA) , by Dan's own admission, by Dewey Bunnell, right before he (Dan) quit (or was fired from, depending who you ask) the band..
He (Dan) played one hell of a guitar solo in this song too, which I have attempted to replicate here note for note..(not THAT hard, as it wasn't exactly Hendrix,(but an excellent solo nonetheless) Soon thereafter, he found Jesus, and saved himself, in a triumph of the human spirit.. He has since moved on to a successful life as a contemporary Christian artist, as well as a talented author and blogger, albeit with a tendency toward bashing his former bandmates in print. Guess folks like to read that kind of stuff. His comments are certainly interesting (visit his blog www.danpeek.com to see his remarks)... Nice work if you can get it... Go Dan-you're amazing regardless.. Love Ya..

Are You There (With Another Girl)
"Are You There (With Another Girl)" is a song written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David for American singer Dionne Warwick. Her version, released as a single on December 1965, eventually reached number 39 on the Billboard charts. It also appears as the 10th track on her album Here I Am (1965).
Author Serene Domenic praised the song in the book Burt Bacharach Song by Song, writing of its "droning strings", "strange fret-sliding guitar", and orchestral crescendos which precede the Beatles' "A Day in the Life" (1967). He also speculates that the song influenced Beach Boys composer Brian Wilson for the Pet Sounds track "Let's Go Away for Awhile" (1966).

America (advertisement)
"America" is an American political advertisement released by the 2016 presidential campaign of Bernie Sanders. It premiered on January 21, 2016 via YouTube, and to air on television in Iowa and New Hampshire shortly before the Democratic Iowa caucus and New Hampshire primary.

The advertisement features "America," a song recorded by Simon & Garfunkel for their album Bookends (1968).
The ad starts with scenes of everyday American life over soft humming and gentle guitar strumming. As the line, "let us be lovers, we'll marry our fortunes together" plays in the background, a middle-aged couple dances at a small Bernie Sanders for President rally. Then Sanders is seen speaking to a few people in a backyard. As the ad continues, the crowds grow larger and more enthusiastic. A montage of many Sanders supporters appear, as the words "They've all come to look for America" flash on the screen. Sanders is then seen addressing a large outdoor gathering, interacting one-on-one with supporters, appearing before more energetic crowds, finally ending in a large auditorium filled to capacity with cheering people.

Lukas Graham
Lukas Graham is a Danish soul pop band consisting of Lukas Graham Forchhammer (vocals), Mark "Lovestick" Falgren (drums), Magnus “Magnúm” Larsson (bass) and Kasper Daugaard (keyboard). Launching their debut album in 2012 on Copenhagen Records, Lukas Graham quickly became the most popular live act in Denmark. That success translated to the rest of Europe and caught the attention of Warner Bros. Records who co-signed them in 2013. The band’s music was first introduced worldwide with the release of their two singles "7 Years" and "Mama Said" in October 2015. "7 Years" resonated with many listeners and quickly made its way up numerous Spotify Top 50 Viral and Country charts. Their second album is expected to be released in 2016.
Career
2011–12: Career beginnings
The band started its career in Denmark in late 2011 when it released two homemade YouTube videos of the band performing Criminal Mind and Drunk in the Morning, recorded in Lukas' home. The videos were shared on Facebook among friends, and soon they had several hundred thousand views. The band's soulful and funky sound quickly spread in the Copenhagen underground and through online postings, which led Copenhagen Records to sign them. Lukas Graham achieved commercial success in October 2011 with the release of its debut single. Its first Danish tour sold over 30,000 concert tickets, even though its album had not been released yet.

He (Dan) played one hell of a guitar solo in this song too, which I have attempted to replicate here note for note..(not THAT hard, as it wasn't exactly Hendrix,(but an excellent solo nonetheless) Soon thereafter, he found Jesus, and saved himself, in a triumph of the human spirit.. He has since moved on to a successful life as a contemporary Christian artist, as well as a talented author and blogger, albeit with a tendency toward bashing his former bandmates in print.
