Van Gölü Canavarı, Van ve Bitlis illeri arasında yer alan Van Gölü içinde yaşadığı ileri sürülen efsanevi bir yaratıktır. 1993 yılına dek adından hiç söz edilmeyen varlığı bugüne dek gördüğünü iddia eden 1000'in üzerinde kişi vardır. Ama yapılan araştırmalar göldeki ilk canavar vakasının 1889 yılında yaşandığını aktarıyor. Dönemin İstanbul'da yayın yapan Saadet gazetesinin, 28 Şaban 1306 (29 Nisan 1889) tarihli 1323 nolu nüshasında, canavarın Van Gölünde abdest almak isteyen bir kişiyi kapıp göle sürüklediği haberi yer alıyor. Varlığı gördüklerini söyleyen kişilerin belirttiklerine göre canavar 15 metre uzunluğunda, sırtında sivri çıkıntıları olan, Plesiosaur ya da Ichthyosaurus benzeri bir varlıktır. Zamanla bu varlığı gördüğünü iddia edenlerin sayısı artınca olay medyaya da yansımış ve bunun üzerine Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Hükûmeti bölgeye bir bilimsel araştıma ekibi göndermiştir. Ancak, yapılan araştırmalar sonucunda gölde olağandışı herhangi bir varlığın olduğuna ilişkin hiçbir iz bulunamamıştır.
Birkaç yıl sonra Van Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi'nde öğretim üyeliği yapan Ünal Kozak adlı kişi gölde yaptığı araştırmalar sırasında yaratık ile karşılaştığını ve kameraya almayı başardığını iddia ederek çekmiş olduğu videoyu analiz için ilgili kuruluşlara göndermiştir. Konu hakkında bir de kitap yazmış olmasına karşın video ile ilgili gösterilenler kabul görmemiştir. Bunun ile ilgili eleştiriler ise kamera açısının hiç sol yana kaymadığı bunun nedeninin bu tarafta yaratığı iple çeken bir tekne bulunduğu yönündedir. Cambridge Üniversitesi'nde de biyologlarca izlenen kayıtta yaratığın hiçbir yöne sapmadan dümdüz bir yol izlemesi de bunun, bir tekne tarafından çekilen bir maket olduğu kuşkularını uyandırmıştır.
Bugün Van'ın Gevaş ilçesi merkezinde bu canavar anısına yaklaşık 4 metre yüksekliğinde bir heykel dikilmiştir. Bunun yanında pek çok kişi söylentinin bölge turizmini büyük ölçüde canlandırdığını ve ziyaretçilerden büyük ilgi gördüğünü belirtmiştir.[

The Lake Van Monster, (Turkish: Van Gölü Canavarı) is a legendary creature that allegedly lives in Turkey.
History
The Lake Van Monster was not reported until 1995 in Lake Van, a large alkaline lake in Eastern Turkey. There are now more than 1,000 people claiming to have witnessed the beast which is reported to measure around fifteen meters long with spikes on its back and appears similar to a Plesiosaur or Ichthyosaurus. Researches showed creature first mentioned on Saadet newspaper's (a newspaper published at Istanbul at the time) 29 April 1889 issue,[1] says that the creature dragged a man into lake while he was doing wudu. Following these reports the Turkish government sent an official scientific survey group to the lake who failed to spot the creature.
Lake Van
In 1997 a local man, Unal Kozak, a teaching assistant at Van University, captured the creature on video which was sent for analysis. He has written a book about the monster. Yet his video is under constant criticism, with questions like why it never pans left, possibly because of a boat that may have carried the creature. Or why the monster only goes straight, instead of curving through the water. Even criticism as to why the breathing is not in and out, but a continuous release, much like the effects of an air hose.
A 4-meter high statue based on reported sightings has been erected to its honor in Van, Turkey.
Skeptics point out that the region would benefit from tourist revenue and a hoax might attract visitors.[2]

According to China's environmental watchdog, Sepa, China is losing a million acres (4,000 km²) per year to desertification.[129] Water quality, erosion, and pollution control have become important issues in China's relations with other countries. However, I had to travel from Zhoushan to Shanghai several times and I found the Chinese landscape and roadside very wonderful, specially the bus journey is very enjoyable than metro train. I liked it I was fully astonished by Chinese natura and countryside.

Lake Bafa or Lake Bafa Nature Park (Turkish: Bafa Gölü Tabiat Parkı) is a lake and a nature reserve situated in southwestern Turkey, part of it within the boundaries of Milas district of Muğla Province and the northern part within Aydın Province's Söke district.[1] The lake used to be a gulf of the Aegean Sea until the Classical period, when the sea passage was gradually closed by the alluvial mass brought by Büyük Menderes River. The gulf, and later the lake, was named Latmus in antiquity.
The southern shore of the lake is traced by the highway connecting İzmir-Kuşadası-Söke to towns such as Milas and Bodrum that are situated in the south. The northern shore of the lake, where steep slopes are covered by wild or semi-domesticated olive trees, is virtually untouched to this day.
At the innermost north-east tip of the lake is the village of Kapıkırı, as well as the ruins of Heraclea by Latmus (sometimes called Heraclea in Ionia), to distinguish from other ancient Greek sites named Heraclea. The mountain chain of Beşparmak (Dağları) -also named (Latmus) in antiquity- rises on the back, sheltering the non-restored ruins of a dozen monasteries dating from the Byzantine era on its slopes. Yet another monastery is situated on an islet on the lake just across the village. The village of Kapıkırı has recently developed important facitilies catering to visiting tourists, although agriculture and fishing still occupies an important part in its economy.
According to the legend, it was here that the goddess Selene fell in love with the shepherd Endymion and she asked Zeus to keep the young shepherd in perpetual sleep and bore up to fifty children from her nightly encounters with the sleeping young man.

Lake Bafa or Lake Bafa Nature Park (Turkish: Bafa Gölü Tabiat Parkı) is a lake and a nature reserve situated in southwestern Turkey, part of it within the boundaries of Milas district of Muğla Province and the northern part within Aydın Province's Söke district.[1] The lake used to be a gulf of the Aegean Sea until the Classical period, when the sea passage was gradually closed by the alluvial mass brought by Büyük Menderes River. The gulf, and later the lake, was named Latmus in antiquity. The southern shore of the lake is traced by the highway connecting İzmir-Kuşadası-Söke to towns such as Milas and Bodrum that are situated in the south. The northern shore of the lake, where steep slopes are covered by wild or semi-domesticated olive trees, is virtually untouched to this day. At the innermost north-east tip of the lake is the village of Kapıkırı, as well as the ruins of Heraclea by Latmus (sometimes called Heraclea in Ionia), to distinguish from other ancient Greek sites named Heraclea. The mountain chain of Beşparmak (Dağları) -also named (Latmus) in antiquity- rises on the back, sheltering the non-restored ruins of a dozen monasteries dating from the Byzantine era on its slopes. Yet another monastery is situated on an islet on the lake just across the village. The village of Kapıkırı has recently developed important facitilies catering to visiting tourists, although agriculture and fishing still occupies an important part in its economy. According to the legend, it was here that the goddess Selene fell in love with the shepherd Endymion and she asked Zeus to keep the young shepherd in perpetual sleep and bore up to fifty children from her nightly encounters with the sleeping young man.

Ancak, yapılan araştırmalar sonucunda gölde olağandışı herhangi bir varlığın olduğuna ilişkin hiçbir iz bulunamamıştır.
Birkaç yıl sonra Van Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi'nde öğretim üyeliği yapan Ünal Kozak adlı kişi gölde yaptığı araştırmalar sırasında yaratık ile karşılaştığını ve kameraya almayı başardığını iddia ederek çekmiş olduğu videoyu analiz için ilgili kuruluşlara göndermiştir. Konu hakkında bir de kitap yazmış olmasına karşın video ile ilgili gösterilenler kabul görmemiştir. Bunun ile ilgili eleştiriler ise kamera açısının hiç sol yana kaymadığı bunun nedeninin bu tarafta yaratığı iple çeken bir tekne bulunduğu yönündedir. Cambridge Üniversitesi'nde de biyologlarca izlenen kayıtta yaratığın hiçbir yöne sapmadan dümdüz bir yol izlemesi de bunun, bir tekne tarafından çekilen bir maket olduğu kuşkularını uyandırmıştır.
Bugün Van'ın Gevaş ilçesi merkezinde bu canavar anısına yaklaşık 4 metre yüksekliğinde bir heykel dikilmiştir. Bunun yanında pek çok kişi söylentinin bölge turizmini büyük ölçüde canlandırdığını ve ziyaretçilerden büyük ilgi gördüğünü belirtmiştir.[

The Lake Van Monster was not reported until 1995 in Lake Van, a large alkaline lake in Eastern Turkey. There are now more than 1,000 people claiming to have witnessed the beast which is reported to measure around fifteen meters long with spikes on its back and appears similar to a Plesiosaur or Ichthyosaurus. Researches showed creature first mentioned on Saadet newspaper's (a newspaper published at Istanbul at the time) 29 April 1889 issue,[1] says that the creature dragged a man into lake while he was doing wudu. Following these reports the Turkish government sent an official scientific survey group to the lake who failed to spot the creature.
Lake Van
In 1997 a local man, Unal Kozak, a teaching assistant at Van University, captured the creature on video which was sent for analysis. He has written a book about the monster. Yet his video is under constant criticism, with questions like why it never pans left, possibly because of a boat that may have carried the creature. Or why the monster only goes straight, instead of curving through the water. Even criticism as to why the breathing is not in and out, but a continuous release, much like the effects of an air hose.
A 4-meter high statue based on reported sightings has been erected to its honor in Van, Turkey.
Skeptics point out that the region would benefit from tourist revenue and a hoax might attract visitors.[2]

Southern China is dominated by hills and low mountain ranges, while the central-east hosts the deltas of China's two major rivers, the Yellow River and the Yangtze River. Other major rivers include the Xi, Mekong, Brahmaputra and Amur. To the west, major mountain ranges, most notably the Himalayas, and high plateaus feature among the more arid landscapes of the north, such as the Taklamakan and the Gobi Desert. The world's highest point, Mount Everest (8,848m), lies on the Sino-Nepalese border. The country's lowest point, and the world's fourth-lowest, is the dried lake bed of Ayding Lake (−154m) in the Turpan Depression.
A major environmental issue in China is the continued expansion of its deserts, particularly the Gobi Desert, which is currently the world's fifth-largest desert.[127][128] Although barrier tree lines planted since the 1970s have reduced the frequency of sandstorms, prolonged drought and poor agricultural practices have resulted in dust storms plaguing northern China each spring, which then spread to other parts of East Asia, including Korea and Japan. According to China's environmental watchdog, Sepa, China is losing a million acres (4,000 km²) per year to desertification.[129] Water quality, erosion, and pollution control have become important issues in China's relations with other countries. Melting glaciers in the Himalayas could potentially lead to water shortages for hundreds of millions of people.[130]
China's climate is mainly dominated by dry seasons and wet monsoons, which lead to pronounced temperature differences between winter and summer. In the winter, northern winds coming from high-latitude areas are cold and dry; in summer, southern winds from coastal areas at lower latitudes are warm and moist. However, I had to travel from Zhoushan to Shanghai several times and I found the Chinese landscape and roadside very wonderful, specially the bus journey is very enjoyable than metro train. I liked it I was fully astonished by Chinese natura and countryside.

Lake Bafa or Lake Bafa Nature Park (Turkish: Bafa Gölü Tabiat Parkı) is a lake and a nature reserve situated in southwestern Turkey, part of it within the boundaries of Milas district of Muğla Province and the northern part within Aydın Province's Söke district.[1] The lake used to be a gulf of the Aegean Sea until the Classical period, when the sea passage was gradually closed by the alluvial mass brought by Büyük Menderes River. The gulf, and later the lake, was named Latmus in antiquity.
The southern shore of the lake is traced by the highway connecting İzmir-Kuşadası-Söke to towns such as Milas and Bodrum that are situated in the south. The northern shore of the lake, where steep slopes are covered by wild or semi-domesticated olive trees, is virtually untouched to this day.
At the innermost north-east tip of the lake is the village of Kapıkırı, as well as the ruins of Heraclea by Latmus (sometimes called Heraclea in Ionia), to distinguish from other ancient Greek sites named Heraclea. The mountain chain of Beşparmak (Dağları) -also named (Latmus) in antiquity- rises on the back, sheltering the non-restored ruins of a dozen monasteries dating from the Byzantine era on its slopes. Yet another monastery is situated on an islet on the lake just across the village. The village of Kapıkırı has recently developed important facitilies catering to visiting tourists, although agriculture and fishing still occupies an important part in its economy.
According to the legend, it was here that the goddess Selene fell in love with the shepherd Endymion and she asked Zeus to keep the young shepherd in perpetual sleep and bore up to fifty children from her nightly encounters with the sleeping young man.
