I’m sorry it’s been so long since my last video - I have been quite sick and very busy at the end of the year with work and personal stuff.
However, I had the chance this weekend and really wanted to film and upload something!
This is just a walk around video of one of my favourite areas in Osaka - Tennoji (and somewhat Shin-Imamiya too!). I feel like there’s always something going on here, and it’s a great place to spend any free time you happen to have. You definitely won’t get bored! I recommend a visit if you're ever in Osaka with a few hours to spare.
I also decided to go up the Tsutenkaku Tower for the first time, and it was amazing! The view from the top is fantastic, but the inside of the rest of the building is really interesting too - it has a museum-type thing about the area, as well as a lot of adorable gift stores.

Japan Travel: Tennoji Abeno Harukas shopping & entertainment district, Osaka

Tennoji and neighboring Abeno districts are located in the southeast of central Osaka, where there is Abeno Harukas, the tallest skyscraper in Japan. Tennoji Station is one of Osaka's biggest transportation hubs, served by multiple JR and subway lines. Kintetsu Osaka Abenobashi Station is just across the street from Tennoji Station.
The area south of Tennoji Station has gone through redevelopment over the last several years to make the district reborn. There are about seven malls in the area immediately surrounding the station, there is a wide variety of shopping choices. As other nearby attractions, there are Shitennoji Temple and Tennoji Park with a zoological garden and an art museum. West of the park lies Shinsekai, which is a uniquely Osakan dining and entertainment district.

The weather on our first day in Osaka was amazing. The sun was out, it was cool, it wasn't humid. It was a perfect autumn day if such things exist. We went down to Tennoji Park and walked through the park. This video shows some bits and pieces of Tennoji Park. It is worth the visit and we enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Shitennoji Temple （四天王寺） is located in the Tennoji Ward of the Osaka City. This temple is one of the oldest temples in Japan and was built in the late sixth century AD. This temple was built at the behest of Prince Shotoku Taishi, who as a member of the ruling family of Japan at that time, was a great follower and patron of Buddhism in Japan.
Even though it is a city based temple, it is a large sprawling temple with many buildings, ponds and gardens spanning multiple city blocks. Enjoy!

Tennōji-ku, Osaka
Tennōji (天王寺区, Tennōji-ku) is one of 24 wards of Osaka, Japan. It is named after the Shitennō-ji (Temple of the Four Heavenly Kings), which is located in the ward.
General information
Tennōji Station is the city's main southeastern rail terminal with Osaka Municipal Subway's Tennōji Station Midōsuji Line and Tanimachi Line, JR Tennōji as the terminus of the JR Hanwa Line (and a major stop on the Kyoto Line, Osaka Loop Line, Yamatoji Line and Kansai Airport Line) and the Kintetsu Abenobashi Station, directly across the street from Tennōji station is the terminus of the Kintetsu Minami-Osaka Line. As a result of its being a major railway hub, it has become a major built up area in southern Osaka. The buildings around the station include, the Kintetsu department store, Mio, Station Plaza, and Hoop shopping malls, Apollo Movie Theater and Lucias shopping mall, as well as the more recent Q's Mall. In addition, there are several shopping streets in the area including Abenobashisuji. The Kintetsu Abeno Harukas building, which houses the Kintetsu department store, was fully opened in the spring of 2014 and is currently the tallest building in Japan at 300 meters (984 ft.) in height.

Tennoji and neighboring Abeno districts are located in the southeast of central Osaka, where there is Abeno Harukas, the tallest skyscraper in Japan. Tennoji Station is one of Osaka's biggest transportation hubs, served by multiple JR and subway lines. Kintetsu Osaka Abenobashi Station is just across the street from Tennoji Station.
The area south of Tennoji Station has gone through redevelopment over the last several years to make the district reborn. There are about seven malls in the area immediately surrounding the station, there is a wide variety of shopping choices. As other nearby attractions, there are Shitennoji Temple and Tennoji Park with a zoological garden and an art museum. West of the park lies Shinsekai, which is a uniquely Osakan dining and entertainment district.

The weather on our first day in Osaka was amazing. The sun was out, it was cool, it wasn't humid. It was a perfect autumn day if such things exist. We went down to Tennoji Park and walked through the park. This video shows some bits and pieces of Tennoji Park. It is worth the visit and we enjoyed the peace and quiet.
