West Japan Railway Company (西日本旅客鉄道株式会社, Nishi-Nihon Ryokaku Tetsudō Kabushiki-gaisha), also referred to as JR West (JR西日本, Jeiāru Nishi-Nihon), is one of the Japan Railways Group (JR Group) companies and operates in western Honshu. It has its headquarters in Kita-ku, Osaka.
JR West's highest-grossing line is the Sanyo Shinkansen high-speed rail line between Osaka and Fukuoka. The Sanyo Shinkansen alone accounts for about 40% of JR West's passenger revenues. The company also operates Hakata Minami Line, a short commuter line with Shinkansen trains in Fukuoka.
The "Urban Network" is JR West's name for its commuter rail lines in the Osaka-Kobe-Kyoto metropolitan area. These lines together comprise 610 km of track, have 245 stations and account for about 40% of JR West's passenger revenues. Urban Network stations are equipped to handle ICOCA fare cards. Train control on these lines is highly automated, and during peak hours trains run as often as every two minutes.
Kansai International Airport (関西国際空港, Kansai Kokusai Kūkō) (IATA: KIX, ICAO: RJBB) is an international airport located on an artificial island in the middle of Osaka Bay, 38 km (24 mi) southwest of Ōsaka Station, located within three municipalities, including Izumisano (north),Sennan (south), and Tajiri (central), in Osaka Prefecture, Japan. The airport is off the Honshu shore and was designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano. The airport serves as an international hub for All Nippon Airways, Japan Airlines, and Nippon Cargo Airlines, and also serves as a hub for Peach, the first international low-cost carrier in Japan.
It is colloquially known as Kankū (関空) in Japanese.
Kansai opened 4 September 1994 to relieve overcrowding at Osaka International Airport, which is closer to the city of Osaka and now handles only domestic flights. During the 2006 fiscal year, KIX had 116,475 aircraft movements, of which 73,860 were international (31 countries, 71 cities), and 42,615 were domestic (19 cities). The total number of passengers was 16,689,658 of which 11,229,444 were international, and 5,460,214 were domestic, sixth in Japan and second in Osaka area. However, in 2009, airport traffic has fallen by almost 20% in just two years to 13.4 million. In 2010 airport traffic had risen to over 14 million, with international passengers accounting for approximately 10.4 million and domestic passengers accounting for approximately 3.7 million. Freight volume was at 802,162 tonnes total, of which 757,414 t were international (18th in the world), and 44,748 t were domestic. The 4,000 m × 60 m (13,123 ft × 197 ft) second runway was opened on 2 August 2007. As of June 2014, Kansai Airport has become an Asian hub, with 780 weekly flights to Asia and Australasia (including freight 119), 59 weekly flights to Europe and the Middle East (freight 5), and 80 weekly flights to North America (freight 42).

JR West has recently introduced station melodies along the Hokuriku Shinkansen Line which beautifully reflect the traditional culture of the region along the line. The Shirasagi Limited Express trains along the old Hokuriku Main Line travel to Maibara and Nagoya until the completion of the Hokuriku Shinkansen Line which is now under construction until Tsuruga. Kanazawa Station, Kanazawa, Japan, June 6th, 2015.

► May I present to you : The 500 Shinkansen! This is my favorite Shinkansen in terms of design, together with the Tsubame Shinkansen - have a look at that one here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzn70DIclgI The 500 Shinkansen is also a very rare sight, at least for people (such as myself) who lives in Eastern Japan, as this Shinkansen only operates in western Japan, running between Fukuoka and Okayama or Shin-Osaka at 320 kmph. I was super-excited seeing this one, and as you'll notice, the video is less than a minute long, as I was about to board a Shinkansen from another platform 2 minutes later - so I was in a strange mixed mood of feeling extremely excited and stressed at the same time, but I HAD to take the opportunity filming this elegant looking train. - Enjoy! http://www.nippon.com/en/currents/d00116/ This May, JR West announced the new look for its luxury sleeper train, scheduled to hit the tracks of western Japan in spring 2017. The berths on this train, with the top-class suite taking up an entire car, will be an elegant—and expensive—way to tour the areas from Kyoto and Osaka to the San'in and San'yō regions to the west. for the new train. But it promises to be a spectacular way to tour western Japan.
Gojo to Takada to Sakurai. DLC available here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/376961/ The brake does not work very well with the RailDriver controller lol. Oh well. Will do some more testing without the controller; additionally I will activate the dynamic brake for the next series of runs, although I'm not sure why that isn't set to be on by default. Enjoy =) 7/23/16 run (opposite direction, dynamic brake active, keyboard control): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6F8waX5kf8
