Soon, there will be nothing left to reboot.

NBC is developing a TV series based on the 1999 movie Cruel Intentions, Deadline reports. The series will be set in the present day and will follow Bash Casey, the teenage son of original characters Sebastian (played by Ryan Phillippe in the movie) and Annette (played by Reese Witherspoon in the movie).

After finding a journal belonging to his late father, Bash learns about his family's past and leaves his small-town roots for the Brighton Prep School in San Francisco, where he's exposed to an unfamiliar world of "sex, money, power and corruption he never could have imagined," according to Deadline.

Roger Kumble, who wrote and directed the movie, is returning to direct the pilot and co-write the script with Lindsey Rosin and Jordan Ross, who produced The Unauthorized Musical Parody of Cruel Intentions in Los Angeles earlier this year. Producer Neal H. Moritz is also returning.
