Plot: A documentary crew followed a young comedian for six months, in order to track his progress in achieving his dream: money, sex, fame. The feature film is broken into three parts named after these three dreams. It not only chronicles the sometimes awkward exchanges between it's 19-year old subject (Ash Caton) and the people in his life, but also contains archived stand up sets dating back to 2008. The story is also told through interview based talking heads, and features original music by balam. As Ash's life brings him the cusp of all three of his ideal marks of success, the film observes the decisions he makes that gradually deny him of all three. A comedy-mockumentary that examines the ego of an artist, his relationships with those he loves and hates, as well as the relationship between his stage persona and his true self.

A show from another era, "A Prairie Home Companion" has been canceled. The regulars are performing on the last show, including Dusty & Lefty, singing/guitar playing cowboys with a risqué sense of humor, and the Johnson Girls, a sister singing duo of Rhonda and Yolanda who have a penchant for talking over each other. As the show goes on, the regulars, backstage, talk about their lives in relation to the show. Other goings-on include Yolanda and others trying to convince her shy somber daughter, Lola, to sing on this last show. As all this goes on, a mysterious woman in a white trench coat who is on a mission wanders around the theater, while the show's dim security guard, Guy Noir, who usually has nothing to do security-wise, follows.

How To Play Back-up Chords on The Fiddle - Lesson 1
Here is a video on how to play chords on the fiddle. It is the first in a series of many videos.
If you haven't learned double stops then watch these first:
Double Stops-open strings video: http://youtu.be/xKB6-Bdhf3o
Double Stops-Fingered video: http://youtu.be/hOYP0ZlAQ-Y
Simply put, a chord is two or more notes played together. Chords are most often used to to play back-up for another instrument. If you ever play with other people, you will be a more versatile musician and be able to add more to the group because you’ll be able to play the lead (the fiddle tune or main melody) as well as the back-up chords.
Another benefit of learning chords is that it will help you to hear music more deeply. You’ll better understand what the guitar or piano player is doing while you play the melody. And you’ll gain a greater appreciation and pleasure for music when you listen to it. In short, learning chords will EXPAND YOUR MIND!!!!
The chords we play on the fiddle are two-note chords, AKA double stops. Think of them as chord fragments. The chords we’ll learn can function as different chords (like synonyms). This may be a bit confusing at first. Just have patience and memorize the chords for now. Later, we’ll learn a little about the theory of why these chords are what they are and how they work.
We start with open string chords:
D major is D0A0
G major is G0D0
A major is A0E0
Then we’ll learn a simple chord progression:
G/D, which is G0D0-D0A0
D/A, which is D0A0-A0E0
Then we’ll learn how to play an inversion
An inverted A major chord is D1A0
An inverted D major chord is G1D0
An inverted E major chord is A1E0
And so now you can do a chord progression that sounds smoother:
D/A is D0A0-D1-A0
G/D is G0D0-G1D0

LET ME KNOW HOW IT’S GOING
-Are the video lessons a good length? Or could they be shorter or longer?
-Is there something you want to see or know that they don’t show?
-Do you use the play along tracks? Have you ever tried to use them to remember a tune you already learned but forgot?
-Do you watch the videos on technique, adding variation and practice ideas? Or are you more interested in just learning tunes? Be honest!
-Is there any other way they could be improved?

2=2nd finger (left middle) (For example, D2=2nd finger on D string, or F sharp, F#)
3=3rd finger (left ring)
L2=Low second finger (For example DL2= Low 2nd finger on D string, or F natural)
4=4th finger (left pinkie)
L1=low 1st finger
L4=low 4th finger
h3=High 3rd finger
( ) Notes in parentheses at the beginning of a tune or part indicate that this is a “pickup” to be played before the part and which lead smoothly into the part. Pickups create musical flow in tunes. It usually seems best to learn a tune without pickups and add them later, part of why I use the parentheses (also because in most cases, the pickup isn’t essential for the tune).
To make the tabs easier to read, the letters don’t change if you’re on the same string. For example, A0-1-2-1-D3 means you play four notes on the A string-open A, first on A, second on A, first on A, and then third on D string. I also start each line of tabs with the string letter which seems to make it easier to read. Let me know if this could be improved.
(Note: these tabs only contain left hand fingering information;
they do not tell you the rhythm which you have to get from listening. just use them as a tool to figure out tunes or remember them. Once you get the tune in your fingers and ears try not to look at the TABS. In fact, it’s much easier to hear the tune then to try to remember the tabs.)
D0|A0=Double stop(2 strings at once) with open D and A
D1|A0=Double stop with 1st finger on D(E note) and open A

wn.com/How To Play Back Up Chords On The Fiddle Lesson 1

Would you like to help me improve Fiddlehed Fiddle Lessons?
LET ME KNOW HOW IT’S GOING
-Are the video lessons a good length? Or could they be shorter or longer?
-Is there something you want to see or know that they don’t show?
-Do you use the play along tracks? Have you ever tried to use them to remember a tune you already learned but forgot?
-Do you watch the videos on technique, adding variation and practice ideas? Or are you more interested in just learning tunes? Be honest!
-Is there any other way they could be improved?
