Planet Mu

Planet Mu is an English electronic music record label run by Mike Paradinas (also known as µ-Ziq). It was based in Worcester until March 2007, then moved to London and has recently relocated to Broadstairs, Kent. The label started out as a subsidiary of Virgin Records, until in 1998 Mike Paradinas set up the label independent of Virgin and was distributed through SRD.

Planet (magazine)

Planet is a quarterly cultural and political magazine that looks at Wales from an international perspective, and at the world from the standpoint of Wales.

The magazine publishes high-quality writing, artwork and photography by established and emerging figures, and covers subjects across politics, the arts, literature, current events, social justice questions, minority language and culture, the environment and more.

Planet enjoys a vibrant and diverse international readership and is read by key figures in the Welsh political cultural scene.

The magazine was originally set up as a bi-monthly publication by Ned Thomas in 1970, and was published continually until 1979. This followed a decision in 1967 to devolve the function of The Arts Council of Great Britain in Wales to the Welsh Arts Council. Thomas explained that "The arts council's literature director, Meic Stephens, had a vision of creating a publishing base in Wales that hadn't existed before". The magazine was renamed Planet: the Welsh Internationalist in 1977.

Planet (software)

In online media, Planet is a feed aggregator application designed to collect posts from the weblogs of members of an Internet community and display them on a single page. Planet runs on a web server. It creates pages with entries from the original feeds in chronological order, most recent entries first.

Planet was written in Python and maintained by Jeff Waugh and Scott James Remnant. There are several successors: Venus, started by Sam Ruby; Pluto, started by hackNY, and a second project also named Pluto, started by Gerald Bauer.

Released under the Python License, Planet is free software.

Design

Planet uses Mark Pilgrim's Universal Feed Parser to process feeds in RDF, RSS and Atom format, and Tomas Styblo's htmltmpl templating engine to output static files in any format.

Adoption

Websites that aggregate posts from different blogs using Planet or similar software are known as planets themselves. Such sites are commonly associated with free and open source software projects, where they are used to collect posts from the various developers involved in projects.

Someone (novel)

Someone is a contemporary fiction (mystery) novel written by A.M. Edwards and published in 2014 by Fire and Ice, USA. The book already features on several best new release and library websites, including James Cook University.

Plot

Someone is the story of Titch, who grew up amid a hostile family environment with only his guitar for a friend. As he became a more accomplished guitar player he began to write his own material and despite he reluctance to step into the limelight he performed publicly for the first time as a teenager. This performance did not prove to be a resounding success due to heckling from a familiar face in the crowd. Nevertheless, he made a decision to leave home and start a career as a musician. However, a tragic and spiteful event struck him down and he needed all his resolve to find a new way to realize him dream of stardom. He decided to adopt the persona of 'Someone' and eventually went on to become a rock superstar in the US and the UK. Five years later he disappeared in the middle of a US concert series at the height of his success, never to be heard from again.

Someone (Laissons nous une chance)

"Someone (Laissons nous une chance)" is a song by American pop/rock band Hanson and French singer Emma Daumas. It was written mainly by Isaac Hanson while attending Miles Copeland's annual "songwriting bootcamp" at Chateau de Marouatte in France in May 2001. Daumas was chosen to collaborate with Hanson for this song. "Someone (Laissons nous une chance)" was released on the French version of Hanson's album Underneath in February 2005, with rumors that a single would be released in the coming months. The single was not heavily promoted and a retail single was never released, although a few promo versions of the single were pressed in the UK, France and Canada. The song had some limited airplay on the radio.

"Someone" is a song by English musician Lucy Spraggan. The song was released in the United Kingdom as a digital download on 17 September 2012. The song is included on an album called Local Talent which features 56 local UK artists including Lucy. The song peaked to number 137 on the UK Singles Chart and number 16 on the UK Indie Chart.

Guest appearance

In show business, a guest appearance is the participation of an outsider performer (such as a musician or actor) in an event such as a music record or concert, show, etc., when the performer does not belong to the regular cast, band or other performing group. In music, such an outside performer is often referred to as a guest artist. In performance art, the terms guest role or guest star are also common, the latter term specifically indicating the guest appearance of a celebrity. The latter is often also credited as "special guest star" or "special musical guest star" by some production companies. A guest character is a character being portrayed within a fictional entertainment setting who is only involved as part of the plot once or a few times at most. A guest character has fewer appearances than main characters, supporting characters, and recurring characters.

In pop music, guest appearances are often described with the words featuring, with, or and. It is abbreviated in credit lists as feat., ft., f/, f.. In a television series, a guest star is an actor who appears in one or a few episodes. In radio and television shows, a guest star is a guest of the show who is a celebrity.
