In all my years of advertising, I have never seen a treatment that was so detailed, so carefully thought through, and so deeply researched, than the treatment Keith gave us when pitching to handle this commercial. "This was an incredibly challenging board, says Rose. You just take it for granted that James Dean is so iconic, so to go and mess with him and replan his life, if it doesnt work its like youre desecrating his memory."
We really needed to deal with it with sensitivity. According to Karin Barry-McCormack and Paige Nick, the creative team from King James; "For both of us, this was without a doubt the most exciting, challenging and intricate television project we have ever worked on. And it was amazing to work so closely with such a passionate team and such a collaborative client."

Time is Valuable. Make it Count-"Time Flies" Allan Gray TV Ad.
Time Flies is a Advert by Allan Gray that portrays the importance of time and how time should be cherished. This advert was featured on TV in South Africa in 2011.
http://www.allangray.co.za/
At Allan Gray we have been focusing on long-term investing since 1974. Time is an essential ingredient to our investment philosophy. Our new advert is an extension of the theme of illustrating the benefits of time, which we began in 2008. Similar to our other adverts over the last few years, it takes the approach of not only focusing on Allan Gray, but on the investor as an integral part of our investment philosophy. This 90 second 'special edition' is slightly longer than the 60 or 70 second ad that will be flighting on TV.

Castle of Doom aka Vampyr 1932
Vampyr", (also known as Castle of Doom) is one of the first horror movies with sound, is the work of the highly influential danish director Carl Theodor Dreyer. After directing the monumental "La Passion de Jeanne d'Arc" in 1928, Dreyer decided to make this modest film based on the novel "In a Glass Darkly" by Sheridan Le Fanu; while this is indeed his first movie with sound, it was conceived as a silent film, and the movie contains very little actual dialogue because of this.
Oddly enough the dis-jointed storyline does make weird sense after a few viewings it is worked as a surreal experience of the lead character, almost as if Dreyer had filmed a nightmare, complete with the haunting images and eerie atmosphere, or just any other day in my working life. :-)
The movie is about a t...

Verehrte Freunde!

Oscar Wilde: The Picture of Dorian Gray - FULL Audio Book - DramaticReading - The novel tells of a young man named Dorian Gray, the subject of a painting by artist Basil Hallward. Basil is impressed by Dorian's beauty and becomes infatuated with him, believing his beauty is responsible for a new mode in his art. Dorian meets Lord Henry Wotton, a friend of Basil's, and becomes enthralled by Lord Henry's world view. Espousing a new hedonism, Lord Henry suggests the only things worth pursuing in life are beauty and fulfillment of the senses. Realizing that one day his beauty will fade, Dorian expresses his desire to sell his soul to ensure the portrait Basil has painted would age rather than himself. Dorian's wish is fulfilled, plunging him into debauched acts. The portrait serves as a reminder of the effect each act has upon his soul, with each sin displayed as a disfigurement of his form, or through a sign of aging. This reading uses the 20-chapter 1891 version of Wilde's novel. (summary from wikipedia.org)

The movie is about a traveller, named Allan Grey (Julian West), who gets involved in a nightmarish plot when the owner of the inn where he is staying asks him for help to save his family from what he believes is a vampire. So nothing new there although when this wads made it WAS a scary new concept. Anything since has been a wonderous cliche. In this early interpretation of the Vampire myth we follow Allan Grey in his surrealistic trip to madness as he finds out more and more about the supposed vampire that haunts the manor turned inn.
The highly inventive camera work is quite amazingly handled with the combination of light and darkness way ahead of it's times. I do love a black and white film for its grittiness sometimes and the photography is pretty darn good too. It makes the movie worth a look. The Gothic manor and the lonely country side make for some haunting atmosphere and the beautiful images. Dreyer is a very early work of a genius.
Nicolas de Gunzburg as Allan Gray, a young wanderer whose studies of occult matters have made him a dreamer. Gray's view of world in the film is described as a blur of the real and unreal.
RenaMandel as Giséle, Léone's younger sister and the daughter of the Lord of the Manor. Giséle is kidnapped by the VillageDoctor late in the film.
Sybille Schmitz as Léone, Giséle's older sister, who is in thrall to the vampire and finds her strength dwindling day by day.
Jan Hieronimko as the Village Doctor, a pawn of the vampire, MargueriteChopin. The village doctor kidnaps Giséle late in the film.
HenrietteGérard as Marguerite Chopin, the vampire, an elderly woman whose hold extends beyond her immediate victims. Many villagers, including the village doctor, are her minions.
Maurice Schutz as the Lord of the Manor, Giséle and Léone's father who offers Gray a book about vampirism to help Gray save his daughters. After his murder, he returns briefly as a spirit and takes revenge on the village doctor and a soldier who had helped Marguerite Chopin.
Albert Bras as an Old Servant, a servant at the manor house. After the death of his master, he finds Gray's book on vampirism and, aided by Gray, ends the vampire's reign of terror.
N. Babanini as Seine Frau (His Wife)
JaneMora as a NurseGeorges Boidin as the Limping Man

In all my years of advertising, I have never seen a treatment that was so detailed, so carefully thought through, and so deeply researched, than the treatment Keith gave us when pitching to handle this commercial. From beginning to end, his commitment to the job bordered on obsession." says Alistair King, ExecutiveCreative Director at King James.

Gray is awakened suddenly by an old man, entering the room and leaving a square packet on Gray's table with "To be opened upon my death" written on it. Gray takes the package and walks outside finding shadows guiding him to an old castle where he sees several shadows dancing and wandering on their own. Gray also sees an elderly woman and encounters the village doctor. Gray leaves the castle and walks to a manor. Looking through one of the windows, Gray sees the man who gave him the package earlier. This old man is suddenly murdered by gunshot. Gray is let into the house by servants who rush to the aid of the fallen man but find it too late to save him. The servants have Gray stay the night, where the Lord of the manor's youngest daughter, Giséle leads Gray to the library where he learns that her sister, Léone is gravely ill. Gray and Giséle then see Léone walking outside. They rush to her finding her lying unconscious with fresh bite wounds. They have her carried back up to the manor where Gray remembers the parcel given to him. On opening the parcel, Gray finds the book is about horrific demons called Vampyrs.

Verehrte Freunde!

The Wyeths have wealth, fame, and a political legacy—and they preside over it all from their desert perch in Palm Springs. They also have a daughter, Brooke, who knows how to push their buttons. Home for Christmas, she reveals that she's written a tell-all memoir, which dredges up a pivotal family event that changed their lives and now threatens to destroy everything her parents have built. Filled with razor-sharp banter, Pulitzer Prize finalist Jon Robin Baitz's riveting work was declared "the best new play on Broadway" by The New York Times.

The original (longer) interview was recorded and broadcast on 4AY Townsville in 1986. Linda Gray was delightful and charming when Dallas was in the top 10. For fans of this legendary soap, Dallas is set to return in 2012.
