On Oct. 5, the nations participating in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations came to an agreement.
The TPP has been very controversial because of its potential negative economic impacts on several Canadian industries, most notably the auto sector and dairy farming.

We are edging closer to election day on October 19. The polls are all over the place, we've watched 9,000 debates in two weeks and this campaign has been going on for what feels like forever.

To strategic vote or not strategic vote continues to be a big question this election. Many campaigns, like Leadnow's Vote Together, are pushing for the "anything put Harper" option, which gets at the crux of the issue: the need for electoral reform.
The NDP has long campaigned on fixing the first-past-the-post system, and both the Greens and the Liberals are campaigning on a platform to abolish Canada's current first-past-the-post system. Fair Vote Canada continues to push for electoral reform.

The NDP unveiled their fiscal plan on Wednesday, which features four years of budget surpluses.
The plan also shows that the increase in spending, notably to health care and public transit, will be balanced by cancelling Conservative tax breaks for wealthy individuals and increasing corporate tax rates.

Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau announced, if elected, his government would not balance the budget for three years and instead double spending on infrastructure to increase economic growth.
