TRANSCRIPT
Hi, everyone. I'm Jade. In this lesson today, we're looking at the rules for articles, but more specifically, the rules where we have exceptions in using articles. So when I'm observing people's English, all the time I'm hearing the same mistakes with articles. So what you will learn to do in this lesson is how to avoid those really, really common mistakes I hear all the time.
If you're somebody who just doesn't use articles at all because in your native language, you don't have articles, I understand it can be really, really hard to start using them. But they are an important aspect of grammar, and you should be using them. So if you watch this lesson, you'll get some tips for using articles, where you need them, and where you shouldn't use them. And also, if you're someone who's getting articles right nearly all the time, I'm quite sure that you will pick up one or two rules here that you didn't know before. So let's get started.
There are eight different rules. Rule No. 1: When we're talking about countries, most countries we don't use an article. So here some sentences. "She lives in England. They live in America." We don't use articles. But if the country's considered to be a nation state, a collection of different states, or a collection of different countries in one bigger state, then we use articles. Here are examples. So "the U.S.A., the U.K., the U.A.E." -- where I spend a lot of my time -- and here are -- also, we need to mention islands. When a country is a group of islands, we always use articles. So we would say "the Virgin Islands", and we'd say "the Philippines" as well.
It's interesting that we can say, "She lives in England" because England is one country, but when talking about the same -- okay, it's not exactly the same place, the U.K., because it's -- the U.K. is more than one country. It's more than just England. But sometimes people think of it as being the same place. It's not. When we're talking about the U.K., we need an article, but just for "England", it's okay not to use an article.
Let's take a look at rule No. 2. Rule No. 2 -- this is a really subtle rule, here. And this one I always correct in sentences. When people talk about meals -- breakfast, lunch, dinner, also brunch is a meal you might not know. It's in between breakfast and lunch. -- we don't use articles. So here's a correct sentence. "I don't eat breakfast." I'm talking in general there. "I don't eat breakfast." That's okay to say. However, if I'm being specific, "We didn't like the dinner", it's okay to use an article here. You need to. So what does the sentence actually mean? Imagine that we were out last night, and we had a meal. And now, we're talking about it. "Well, the place was nice, but I didn't like the dinner." Being specific about that experience we had. If I'm talking in general, "I don't like dinner", that would just mean all the time, okay? So it's a very big difference in meaning.
Now, we'll look at rule No. 3 for jobs. Jobs take the indefinite article. That's a grammar word. And "indefinite article" means "a". We don't use "the".

For many non-native speakers of English who don't have articles in their own language, it can be really difficult to use articles correctly. Even for speakers of languages that have articles, it is difficult to get your use of articles right 100% of the time. This is because there are many exceptions and irregular grammar rules.
In this lesson, I'll teach you what these exceptions are, so you can be sure to remove these common mistakes from your English. Even if you are an advanced speaker of English, I'm sure you will discover one or two rules that you didn't know about.
"The whale" or just "whale"? "Japanese" or "The Japanese"? "The UK" but not "the London." Phew! The definite article can definitely be confusing! Here's a little song to help you remember the rules for using the definite article.

What is a Scholarly Journal Article?
Chances are you'll need to find a scholarly journal article for a research paper or project in the near future. But, wait, what is a "scholarly journal article?" How is it different from a popular source like a newspaper or magazine article?
Let's reduce the confusion on scholarly journal articles.
Scholarly journals enable scholars -- experts in a particular academic field -- to communicate their research with other experts in that field through publishing articles and to stay current by reading about other scholars' work. Consequently, scholarly journals create a community of scholars who are all participating in a kind of "conversation" in that academic field. Rather than a face-to-face conversation, this is a formal conversation, which takes place over months and years through written documents.
The most important part of this long term written conversation - what makes it a "scholarly" conversation, as opposed to popular - is what's called the "peer review process." The peer review process works like this: in order for a scholar to get published in a scholarly journal, his or her expert peers must read their work and critique it. These "peer reviewers" make sure that the scholar has cited the appropriate experts in the discipline, made valid and well-supported arguments, and has written the article on a topic that is appropriate for that particular journal. This rigorous evaluation process ensures that scholarly work meets a higher standard than popular publications.
So, why is this important for you?
First, the information in a scholarly text has been rigorously evaluated, so it is more reliable and credible than information in popular sources.
Second, reading scholarly journal articles for your papers or projects can give you insight into the ways of thinking of experts in that field.
Finally, every scholarly text has extensive bibliographies that introduce you to important texts in the field, which can help you extend your research in that area. When you read the articles and books the scholar cited in her article, you are taking part in the scholarly conversation.
Okay, so, brass tacks: let's say you are in a research database and you only want scholarly articles. How do you do it? In EBSCO's Academic Search Complete, a common research database, you check the box for "Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals" before clicking the search button. That's it. Now, all of your results will be scholarly articles.

Elon Musk's meteoric ride hit a speed bump in June when one of his SpaceX rockets, on its way to resupply the International Space Station, exploded two minutes into the trip. Thanks in part to that contract, Musk, who initially invested $100 million of his own money, raised $1 billion from new investors including Google and Fidelity in January 2015, valuing the company north of $10 billion.

Critics say the laws are used liberally by the military government to silence discussion about the royal family and the succession to the throne.

Elon Musk's meteoric ride hit a speed bump in June when one of his SpaceX rockets, on its way to resupply the International Space Station, exploded two minutes into the trip. The failed mission is part of a $1.6 billion contract that Musk's private spacecraft company has with NASA to resupply the space station. Thanks in part to that contract, Musk, who initially invested $100 million of his own money, raised $1 billion from new investors including Google and Fidelity in January 2015, valuing the company north of $10 billion.

Leaping Ahead Of The Competition With Article Promotion
The New York Times has said that its local printer in Thailand has refused to print its Asia edition because it featured an article on the ailing king.
The paper said the printer found the front-page article "too sensitive". Tuesday's entire newspaper, however, can still be viewed online in Thailand.
King Bhumibol Adulyadej, 87, is currently in a Bangkok hospital.
Thailand has strict lese majeste laws that can result in jail terms for anyone who insults the monarchy.
Critics say the laws are used liberally by the military government to silence discussion about the royal family and the succession to the throne.
The Thai authorities have blocked a number of other news websites, notably the UK-based Daily Mail, after one article last year which included salacious details of Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn's private life. That censorship precedes last year's military coup, although it has increased since the military takeover.
The military has shown itself to be extremely sensitive to any reporting on the royal family, with both the number and harshness of convictions for lese majeste rising sharply after the coup.
As the New York Times details in its article, Thais have been jailed for an overheard conversation in a taxi, a hand gesture, a university play, bathroom graffiti and most recently, two sentences of 28 and 30 years for Facebook posts.
Military ruler Prayuth Chan-ocha has also become visibly more irritated by media criticism of his performance, threatening to tape journalists' mouths shut, and to find other ways of punishing them.
Last weekend prominent journalist Pravit Rojanaphruk was detained, driven blindfolded to a secret military base outside Bangkok, and held for two days in a windowless room while being interrogated over his alleged links to anti-military conspiracies. He says it was made clear to him this was punishment for speaking out.
Thailand's lese majeste laws explained
The International New York Times (INYT) emailed subscribers in Thailand saying that Tuesday's edition was not printed as "it includes an article that our locally contracted printer deemed too sensitive to print".
"This decision was made solely by the printer and is not endorsed by the International New York Times," it said.
The article notes that the king has been in and out of the hospital in recent months and discusses his successors, particularly Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn.
Written by the paper's South East Asia correspondent Thomas Fuller, who is based in Bangkok, it also comments that lese majeste laws have stifled discussion on the issue in Thailand.
The last update on King Bhumibol released by palace authorities was in August when they said he was recovering from hydrocephalus, or excessive build-up of fluid on the brain.
The monarch has had frequent bouts of ill health in recent years. His health is closely watched in Thailand as he is seen as a unifying symbol and pillar of stability in a society that has seen increased political divisions and violence.

Dans ce cours, vous allez apprendre l'article indéfini en anglais.
“a”, “an” and “the” are articles. They are types of determiners and they modify nouns.
“a” and “an” are indefinite articles. This means "not specific" so they refer to non-specific instances of a noun.
The most common use is when it is the first time we refer to an instance of a noun.
In this video lesson, I explain the grammar rules and all of the other situations of when to use indefinite articles.
There are some grammar exercises at the end of the lesson.

Mark Levin shows how the state legislatures, with no permission required from the feds, can amend the US Constitution. It's right there in Article V, and the historical record shows that the Founding Fathers meant for that Article to be used in a time like ours, when the feds have gone way beyond their Constitutionally granted authority.
In this English lesson, you will learn how to use the indefinite article (a, an)
Dans ce cours, vous allez apprendre l'article indéfini en anglais.

The Best Spinner - Advanced Article Spinner Techniques That Work http://www.matthewwoodward.co.uk/tutorials/advanced-article-spinning-techniques-with-the-best-spinner/
The best spinner is my article spinner of choice and I have used it for a number of years. I find most people make the same mistakes when trying to use The Best Spinner.
I have put together this advanced article spinner tutorial based on my years of experience and experimenting with what works. This tutorial will show you how to spin articles so good that they will pass human moderation.
What you will learn-
* What an article spinner is
* Why article spinning is important
* How it works
* How to spin articles with the best spinner
* Advanced techniques/tips
* My personal spinning process
I will show you how to use the best spinner to include contextual links, images, videos, bullet points, headings, random anchor texts, random alt texts and more. If you use an article spinner correctly you can do some amazing things - it just requires a little out of the box thinking.
You can use this video to train your assistants or outsourcers on the best way to spin articles. It will take them a bit of practice but once people understand the process it is very easy to produce high quality spun articles that read perfectly complete with videos, images and relevant links.
A lot of people claim that using an article spinner gets you penalised. That is because they haven't taken the time to learn how to use the best spinner properly and usually resort to clicking a few buttons to automatically spin content.
The problem with using an article spinner in that way is that the end result isn't readable at all. On top of that is only spun at the word level and doesn't include any of the other quality indications like images, videos and relevant links to authority sites.
This tutorial will show how I use the best spinner to produce high quality, unique content for all of your link building campaigns. It takes a little bit more effort to learn to use an article spinner like this but trust me it is worth it.
Learn all of my advanced article spinner techniques and how to get the most out of the best spinner step by step. I know the tutorial is an hour long but by the end of it you will be one of the best article spinners on the planet period.

Article 147. Interpretation In this Chapter and in Chapter V of Part VI references to any substantial question of law as to the interpretation of this Constitution shall be construed as including references to any substantial question of law as to the interpretation of the Government of India Act, 1935 (including any enactment amending or supplementing that Act), or of any Order in Council or order made thereunder, or of the Indian Independence Act, 1947 , or of any order made thereunder CHAPTER V COMPTROLLER AND AUDITOR
===
GENERAL OF INDIA
(The aforesaid provisions has laid downs the conditions upon the Supreme Court and High Courts not to interpret anything beyond the scope of the interpretation of the Government of India Act, 1935).
(The Government of India Act, 1935 was enacted by the British parliament, so amendment in it, obviously can be made by the British Parliament only, which means Article 147 is imposing a condition upon the Indian Judiciary to recognise any subsequent amendment, if passed by the British Parliament, thus virtually the sovereignty of Indian Judiciary with regards to interpretations are concerned, was tagged with the right of the British Parliament to amend the said Act).
(On the other hand provision does not provide any provision for amendment in Indian Independence Act 1947).
(The word "Council" is denotes to British Privy Council. Otherwise what is justification in Judgments pronounced by the Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court based on references from the Judgments of the British Privy Council)?

Indian Independence Act 1947
The Indian Independence Act 1947 (10 & 11 Geo 6 c. 30) was as an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that partitioned British India into the two new independent dominions of India and Pakistan. The Act received the royal assent on 18 July 1947, and Pakistan came into being on August 14, and India on August 15, as two new countries.[1]
The legislation was formulated by the government of Prime Minister Clement Attlee, after representatives of the Indian National Congress,[2] the Muslim League,[3] and the Sikh community[4] came to an agreement with the Viceroy of India, Lord Mountbatten of Burma, on what has come to be known as the 3 June Plan or Mountbatten Plan.
===
Government of India Act 1935
The Government of India Act 1935 was originally passed in August 1935 (25 & 26 Geo. 5 c. 42), and is said to have been the longest (British) Act of Parliament ever enacted by that time. Because of its length[citation needed], the Act was retroactively split by the Government of India (Reprinting) Act 1935 (26 Geo. 5 & 1 Edw. 8 c. 1) into two separate Acts:

About Elon Musk
Elon Musk's meteoric ride hit a speed bump in June when one of his SpaceX rockets, on its way to resupply the International Space Station, exploded two minutes into the trip. The failed mission is part of a $1.6 billion contract that Musk's private spacecraft company has with NASA to resupply the space station. Thanks in part to that contract, Musk, who initially invested $100 million of his own money, raised $1 billion from new investors including Google and Fidelity in January 2015, valuing the company north of $10 billion.

In this English lesson, you will learn how to use the indefinite article (a, an)
Dans ce cours, vous allez apprendre l'article indéfini en anglais.

* How it works
* How to spin articles with the best spinner
* Advanced techniques/tips
* My personal spinning process

===
===
===

Comment optimiser une image pour améliorer votre référencement ?
En modifiant votre texte alternatif et le titre de votre image, Google comprendra mieux le sujet de votre article.
Faut-il mettre des liens vers d'autres sites dans un article ?
Oui si c'est une ressource supplémentaire qui va étoffer votre article. Sachez que vous ne perdrez pas en référencement si votre site pointe vers un autre. En revanche, le site pointé gagnera en popularité dans les moteurs de recherche.

In this episode of To The Point, Karan Thapar has in the studio, Dr. Karan Singh, the son of the Maharaja of Kashmir - Hari Singh who acceded to India, but with certain clauses. He says that the Maharaja, his father, was under immense pressure to accede because his country was being aggressed by Pakistani tribal leaders (He refers to them as the fathers of the current day Taliban). This episode tries to explain why there was the need for J&K; to get special status under the Indian constitution. Listen in - and comment - do you agree?
