For the beginning, the video presents a series of rural landscapes in the Ciuc depressions area, crossed by the Olt River and inhabited almost exclusively by Hungarians (Szeklers). Ciucul de Sus (Felcsík - Upper Ciuc) Depression: Tomești (Csíkszenttamás), Cârța (Csíkkarcfalva), Dănești (Csíkdánfalva), Mădăraș (Csíkmadaras) villages; Ciucul de Mijloc (Középcsík - Middle Ciuc) Depression: Frumoasa (Csíkszépvíz), Livezi (Lóvész), Cioboteni (Csobotfalva), Hosasău (Hosszúaszó) villages; Ciucul de Jos (Alcsík - Lower Ciuc) Depression: Potiond (Pottyond), Ciucsângeorgiu (Csíkszentgyörgy), Sâncrăieni (Csíkszentkirály), Sântimbru (Csíkszentimre), Cetățuia (Csatószeg), Lăzărești (Lázárfalva) villages. The trip continues over the Nascalat Mountains in the upper basin of Trotuș River (Lunca de Sus - Gyimesfelsőlok, Valea Rece - Hidegség), where Csangos represent the predominant population. The video ends with a few photos of the Cinod village (at the sources of Uz River) and others illustrating the transhumance. The pictures are accompanied by brief explanations. All photos are made by me.
Pentru început, videoclipul prezintă o serie de peisaje cu specific rural din zona depresiunilor Ciuc, străbătute de Râul Olt și locuite aproape exclusiv de maghiari (secui). Depresiunea Ciucul de Sus (Felcsík): satele Tomești (Csíkszenttamás), Cârța (Csíkkarcfalva), Dănești (Csíkdánfalva), Mădăraș (Csíkmadaras). Depresiunea Ciucul de Mijloc (Középcsík): satele Frumoasa (Csíkszépvíz), Livezi (Lóvész), Cioboteni (Csobotfalva), Hosasău (Hosszúaszó). Corund is one of the best known places of Transylvania (Romania), it is the centre of folk-pottery. Producing pottery items has been part of the village's life for a long time; it has been transmitted from father to son. Korond is one of those rare villages where producing pottery is still present as well as processing touchwood.
Traditional Transylvanian folk-art offer:
- Traditional handmade pottery (unique pieces) with blue decorations, brown, black and white pottery, There are items for everyday use and items for decoration. For flower shops thez are all kinds of flower pots and holders. Our dishes for cooking and Roman Bowls are among the favourites of housewives.
- Wooden products include carvings as well as household items (newspaper holder, flower stand, chopping boards, sideboards, massager, bottle holder), items for decoration (pictures, Seckler’s gate, kitchen wreaths, fountains), toys made of wood and many other objects.

- Traditional costumes (traditional Seckler clothing as well as traditional costumes of the Kalotaszeg area), You can also find traditional women’s clothes made of linen.

Corund este una dintre cele mai vestite și cunoscute localități ardelene, centrul olăriei populare transilvănene. Producția de ceramică populară este prezentă de veacuri în viața satului, fiind moștenită de la tată în fiu. Corund este una dintre puținele localități unde se mai practică până în ziua de astăzi ceramica populară și prelucrarea iascăi.
Oferta de produse artizanale transilvănene:
- Ceramică tradițională lucrată manual (piese unicat) pictată cu albastru sau roșu, ceramică neagră, maro și albă. Sunt obiecte de uz personal și casnic, dar și decorațiuni. Pentru florării se găsesc vase și ghiveci de flori, ghiveci „cu buzunar”, suporturi de ghiveci etc. Oalele pentru gătit și vasele romane sunt îndrăgite de gospodine.
- Produse din lemn: diferite sculpturi, obiecte de uz casnic (suporturi pentru ziare, tocătoare, tăvi, accesorii pentru masaj, suporturi pentru sticlă etc.), decorațiuni (picturi, porți și fântâni din lemn etc.), jucării de lemn pentru cei mici și altele.

Korond Erdély (Románia) egyik leghíresebb és legismertebb helysége, a népi fazekasság központja. A kerámiakészítés már hosszú idők óta jelen van a falu életében, apáról fiúra öröklődött. Plimbare cu sania trasă de "doi cai frumoşi", cu pedigree, rasa lipiţan. Caii sunt bine dresaţi, foarte energici şi folosiţi doar pentru concursuri şi agrement.
Plimbarea a avut loc la sfârşitul lunii decembrie 2012 pe uliţele şi pe câmpurile din zona comunei Cârţa (Csíkkarcfalva - în ungureşte), judeţul Harghita.

Casa ”Şcoala Pădurii” se află la capătul satului Potiond, la 27 km de Miercurea Ciuc, la poalele Munţilor Ciucului.
Asigură cazarea pentru 20-28 persoane în camere cu 2-6 locuri, parţial cu paturi supraetajate, cu bloc sanitar comun.
Masa poate fi servită în demipensiune sau pensiune completă, punctul forte al bucătarilor fiind mâncarea tradiţională secuiască. Casa este înconjurată de spaţiu verde, disponând de o potecă tematică educativă, parcare, teren de baschet şi grătar. 50-60 persoane au loc la masa festivă în sala mare şi pot dansa pe terasă. Lista programelor distractive: excursie cu căruţa/sania, confecţionarea de obiecte artizanale, dans şi cântec popular, plimbare pe jos cu prezentarea satului, plimbare cu căruţa/sania de prezentare a satului, activităţi de cunoaştere a naturii, excursii în Munţii Ciucului, prepararea colacilor secuieşti, scurt program tradiţional şi distractiv cu ocazia mesei festive.
Poteca tematică Fenyővize (Apa Bradului) începe chiar din dreptul cabanei Şcoala Pădurii. Traseul, având o lungime de 800m, se întinde în lungul Pârâului Fenyővize şi are 11 staţii: Cabana Şcoala Pădurii, Flora şi fauna pârâului, Vegetaţie ruderală de-a lungul drumului, Pădurea de captalan - Ascultă pădurea, Păsări şi reptile, Pădurea de fag, Fâneţe montane, Bălţi de topit cânepă, Tufăriş de sălcii, Peisaj cultural, Insecte, Ierburi înalte lângă pârâu.
Az Erdei Iskola Vendégház Csíkszeredától 27 km-re, a Csíki havasok lábánál fekvő Pottyond falu végén található. A szobák 2-6 személyesek(részben emeletes ágyakkal), közös mellékhelyiségekkel vagy saját fürdőszobával. A vendégházhoz nagy zöldövezet, parkoló, kosárlabda- illetve teniszpálya is tartozik. Az étkezés félpanzió vagy teljes panzió formájában a foglalás időpontjában kiválasztott menü alapján oldható meg. Szakácsaink erőssége a hagyományos székely konyha.

In 2002, Harghita County had a population of 326,222 and a population density of 52/km².

In 2011, it had a population of 302,432 and a population density of 46/km².
Harghita county has the highest percentage of Hungarians in Romania, just ahead of Covasna county. The Hungarians form the majority of the population in most of the county's municipalities, with Romanians concentrated in the northern and eastern part of the county (particularly Toplița and Bălan), as well as in the enclave of Voșlăbeni.
The Székelys of Harghita are mostly Roman Catholic, with Reformed and Unitarian minorities, while the ethnic Romanians are primarily Orthodox. Catholicism is strongest in the east, in the former Csíkszék, while Protestants are concentrated in the west, south and west of Odorheiu Secuiesc. A county, abbreviated Cnty. (US) or Co. (UK and Ireland), is a geographical region of a country used for administrative or other purposes, in certain modern nations. The term is derived from the Old French conté or cunté denoting a jurisdiction under the sovereignty of a count (earl) or a viscount. The modern French is comté, and its equivalents in other languages are contea, contado, comtat, condado, Grafschaft, graafschap, Gau, etc. (cf. conte, comte, conde, Graf).
When the Normans conquered England, they brought the term with them. The Saxons had already established the districts that became the historic counties of England, calling them shires (many county names derive from the name of the county town with the word "shire" added on: for example, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire). The Vikings introduced the term earl (from Old Norse, jarl) to the British Isles. Thus, "earl" and "earldom" were taken as equivalent to the continental use of "count" and "county". The River Danube, which is Europe's second longest river after the Volga, rises in Germany and flows southeastwards for a distance of 2,857 km, coursing through ten countries before emptying in Romania's Danube Delta. Some of its 1,075 km length bordering the country drains the whole of it. The Carpathian Mountains, with their tallest peak Moldoveanu at 2,544 m (8,346 ft), cross Romania from the north to the southwest.
Modern Romania emerged within the territories of the ancient Roman province of Dacia, and was formed in 1859 through a personal union of the Danubian Principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia. The new state, officially named Romania since 1866, gained independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1877. At the end of World War I, Transylvania, Bukovina and Bessarabia united with the sovereign Kingdom of Romania. During World War II, Romania was an ally of Nazi Germany against the Soviet Union, fighting side by side with the Wehrmacht until 1944, then it joined the Allied powers after being occupied by the Red Army forces. During the war, Romania lost several territories, of which Northern Transylvania was regained after the war. Following the war, Romania became a socialist republic and member of the Warsaw Pact. After the 1989 Revolution, Romania began a transition back towards democracy and a capitalist market economy.

Sleigh Ride
"Sleigh Ride" is a popular light orchestral piece composed by Leroy Anderson. The composer had the original idea for the piece during a heat wave in July 1946 finished the work in February 1948. It was originally an instrumental piece; the lyrics, about a person who would like to ride in a sleigh on a winter's day with another person, were written by Mitchell Parish in 1950. The orchestral version was first recorded in 1949 by Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops Orchestra. The song was a hit record on RCA Victor Red Seal 49-0515 (45 rpm) / 10-1484 (78 rpm), and has become the equivalent of a signature song for the orchestra. The 45 rpm version was originally issued on red vinyl. The Pops has also recorded the song with John Williams, their conductor from 1979 to 1995, and Keith Lockhart, their current conductor. Over the years, the song has become a Christmas standard.
Details
Leroy Anderson recorded his own version of "Sleigh Ride" in 1950 on Decca 9-16000 (45 rpm) / 16000 (78 rpm). The recording hit the Cashbox magazine best-sellers chart when re-released in 1952.

Producing pottery items has been part of the village's life for a long time; it has been transmitted from father to son. Korond is one of those rare villages where producing pottery is still present as well as processing touchwood. Traditional Transylvanian folk-art offer: - Traditional handmade pottery (unique pieces) with blue decorations, brown, black and white pottery, There are items for everyday use and items for decoration. For flower shops thez are all kinds of flower pots and holders. Our dishes for cooking and Roman Bowls are among the favourites of housewives. - Wooden products include carvings as well as household items (newspaper holder, flower stand, chopping boards, sideboards, massager, bottle holder), items for decoration (pictures, Seckler’s gate, kitchen wreaths, fountains), toys made of wood and many other objects. - Woolen and leather products - Gypsum products - Traditional costumes (traditional Seckler clothing as well as traditional costumes of the Kalotaszeg area), You can also find traditional women’s clothes made of linen. - Personalized or labeled covers, bowls, wooden boards, plates, ceramics dinner-services and traditional products - Decoration items for the garden, the most popular ones are the recumbent amphorae and dwarfs. Corund este una dintre cele mai vestite și cunoscute localități ardelene, centrul olăriei populare transilvănene. Producția de ceramică populară este prezentă de veacuri în viața satului, fiind moștenită de la tată în fiu. Corund este una dintre puținele localități unde se mai practică până în ziua de astăzi ceramica populară și prelucrarea iascăi. Oferta de produse artizanale transilvănene: - Ceramică tradițională lucrată manual (piese unicat) pictată cu albastru sau roșu, ceramică neagră, maro și albă. Sunt obiecte de uz personal și casnic, dar și decorațiuni. Plimbare cu sania trasă de "doi cai frumoşi", cu pedigree, rasa lipiţan. Caii sunt bine dresaţi, foarte energici şi folosiţi doar pentru concursuri şi agrement. Plimbarea a avut loc la sfârşitul lunii decembrie 2012 pe uliţele şi pe câmpurile din zona comunei Cârţa (Csíkkarcfalva - în ungureşte), judeţul Harghita. Sleigh is pulled by two beatiful Lipizzaner horses, with pedigree, well trained and used only for competitions and entertainment. The ride took place in late December 2012 on the streets and fields of the village Cârta (Csíkkarcfalva - in Hungarian), Harghita County, Romania. -

The chalet "Forest School" from Potiond village (Harghita County, Romania) offers accommodation, meals, sports, hiking on foot or by wagon / sleigh, educational activities and fun. Fenyővize (Fir's Water) Nature Trail begins right at the Forest School chalet. The route, with a length of 800m, is stretching along the Fenyővize brook and has 11 stations: Chalet Forest School, Wildlife of the stream, Ruderal vegetation along roadside, Butterbur forest - Listen to nature, Birds and reptiles, Beech-woods, Mountain hay meadows, Hemp-retting ponds, Willow woodland, Cultural landscape, Insects, Tall plants at the streamside Casa ”Şcoala Pădurii” se află la capătul satului Potiond, la 27 km de Miercurea Ciuc, la poalele Munţilor Ciucului. Asigură cazarea pentru 20-28 persoane în camere cu 2-6 locuri, parţial cu paturi supraetajate, cu bloc sanitar comun. Masa poate fi servită în demipensiune sau pensiune completă, punctul forte al bucătarilor fiind mâncarea tradiţională secuiască. Casa este înconjurată de spaţiu verde, disponând de o potecă tematică educativă, parcare, teren de baschet şi grătar. 50-60 persoane au loc la masa festivă în sala mare şi pot dansa pe terasă. Lista programelor distractive: excursie cu căruţa/sania, confecţionarea de obiecte artizanale, dans şi cântec popular, plimbare pe jos cu prezentarea satului, plimbare cu căruţa/sania de prezentare a satului, activităţi de cunoaştere a naturii, excursii în Munţii Ciucului, prepararea colacilor secuieşti, scurt program tradiţional şi distractiv cu ocazia mesei festive. Poteca tematică Fenyővize (Apa Bradului) începe chiar din dreptul cabanei Şcoala Pădurii. Traseul, având o lungime de 800m, se întinde în lungul Pârâului Fenyővize şi are 11 staţii: Cabana Şcoala Pădurii, Flora şi fauna pârâului, Vegetaţie ruderală de-a lungul drumului, Pădurea de captalan - Ascultă pădurea, Păsări şi reptile, Pădurea de fag, Fâneţe montane, Bălţi de topit cânepă, Tufăriş de sălcii, Peisaj cultural, Insecte, Ierburi înalte lângă pârâu. Az Erdei Iskola Vendégház Csíkszeredától 27 km-re, a Csíki havasok lábánál fekvő Pottyond falu végén található. A szobák 2-6 személyesek(részben emeletes ágyakkal), közös mellékhelyiségekkel vagy saját fürdőszobával. A vendégházhoz nagy zöldövezet, parkoló, kosárlabda- illetve teniszpálya is tartozik. Az étkezés félpanzió vagy teljes panzió formájában a foglalás időpontjában kiválasztott menü alapján oldható meg. Szakácsaink erőssége a hagyományos székely konyha.

For the beginning, the video presents a series of rural landscapes in the Ciuc depressions area, crossed by the Olt River and inhabited almost exclusively by Hungarians (Szeklers). Ciucul de Sus (Felcsík - Upper Ciuc) Depression: Tomești (Csíkszenttamás), Cârța (Csíkkarcfalva), Dănești (Csíkdánfalva), Mădăraș (Csíkmadaras) villages; Ciucul de Mijloc (Középcsík - Middle Ciuc) Depression: Frumoasa (Csíkszépvíz), Livezi (Lóvész), Cioboteni (Csobotfalva), Hosasău (Hosszúaszó) villages; Ciucul de Jos (Alcsík - Lower Ciuc) Depression: Potiond (Pottyond), Ciucsângeorgiu (Csíkszentgyörgy), Sâncrăieni (Csíkszentkirály), Sântimbru (Csíkszentimre), Cetățuia (Csatószeg), Lăzărești (Lázárfalva) villages. The trip continues over the Nascalat Mountains in the upper basin of Trotuș River (Lunca de Sus - Gyimesfelsőlok, Valea Rece - Hidegség), where Csangos represent the predominant population. The video ends with a few photos of the Cinod village (at the sources of Uz River) and others illustrating the transhumance. The pictures are accompanied by brief explanations. All photos are made by me.
Pentru început, videoclipul prezintă o serie de peisaje cu specific rural din zona depresiunilor Ciuc, străbătute de Râul Olt și locuite aproape exclusiv de maghiari (secui). Depresiunea Ciucul de Sus (Felcsík): satele Tomești (Csíkszenttamás), Cârța (Csíkkarcfalva), Dănești (Csíkdánfalva), Mădăraș (Csíkmadaras). Depresiunea Ciucul de Mijloc (Középcsík): satele Frumoasa (Csíkszépvíz), Livezi (Lóvész), Cioboteni (Csobotfalva), Hosasău (Hosszúaszó). Călătoria continuă peste Munții Nașcalat în bazinul superior al Râului Trotuș (satele Lunca de Sus - Gyimesfelsőlok, Valea Rece - Hidegség) unde ceangăii reprezintă populația predominantă. Videoclipul se termină cu câteva fotografii din zona cătunului Cinod (la izvoarele Uzului) și cu altele care ilustrează transhumanța. Imaginile sunt însoțite de scurte explicații. Corund is one of the best known places of Transylvania (Romania), it is the centre of folk-pottery. Producing pottery items has been part of the village's life for a long time; it has been transmitted from father to son. Korond is one of those rare villages where producing pottery is still present as well as processing touchwood.
Traditional Transylvanian folk-art offer:
- Traditional handmade pottery (unique pieces) with blue decorations, brown, black and white pottery, There are items for everyday use and items for decoration. For flower shops thez are all kinds of flower pots and holders. Our dishes for cooking and Roman Bowls are among the favourites of housewives.
- Wooden products include carvings as well as household items (newspaper holder, flower stand, chopping boards, sideboards, massager, bottle holder), items for decoration (pictures, Seckler’s gate, kitchen wreaths, fountains), toys made of wood and many other objects.
- Woolen and leather products
- Gypsum products
- Traditional costumes (traditional Seckler clothing as well as traditional costumes of the Kalotaszeg area), You can also find traditional women’s clothes made of linen.
- Personalized or labeled covers, bowls, wooden boards, plates, ceramics dinner-services and traditional products
- Decoration items for the garden, the most popular ones are the recumbent amphorae and dwarfs.
Corund este una dintre cele mai vestite și cunoscute localități ardelene, centrul olăriei populare transilvănene. Producția de ceramică populară este prezentă de veacuri în viața satului, fiind moștenită de la tată în fiu. Corund este una dintre puținele localități unde se mai practică până în ziua de astăzi ceramica populară și prelucrarea iascăi.
Oferta de produse artizanale transilvănene:
- Ceramică tradițională lucrată manual (piese unicat) pictată cu albastru sau roșu, ceramică neagră, maro și albă. Sunt obiecte de uz personal și casnic, dar și decorațiuni. Pentru florării se găsesc vase și ghiveci de flori, ghiveci „cu buzunar”, suporturi de ghiveci etc. Oalele pentru gătit și vasele romane sunt îndrăgite de gospodine.
- Produse din lemn: diferite sculpturi, obiecte de uz casnic (suporturi pentru ziare, tocătoare, tăvi, accesorii pentru masaj, suporturi pentru sticlă etc.), decorațiuni (picturi, porți și fântâni din lemn etc.), jucării de lemn pentru cei mici și altele.

Korond Erdély (Románia) egyik leghíresebb és legismertebb helysége, a népi fazekasság központja. A kerámiakészítés már hosszú idők óta jelen van a falu életében, apáról fiúra öröklődött. Korond azon ritka települések közé tartozik, ahol napjainkban is él a kerámiakészítés, illetve a taplófeldolgozás.
A termékskála folyamatosan bővül, kielégítve a romániai és a külföldi piac igényeit. Ajándéktárgy és népművészeti termék nagy és kiskereskedésekben az erdélyi népművészet minden termékcsaládja megtalálható.

Sleigh is pulled by two beatiful Lipizzaner horses, with pedigree, well trained and used only for competitions and entertainment. The ride took place in late December 2012 on the streets and fields of the village Cârta (Csíkkarcfalva - in Hungarian), Harghita County, Romania.

The chalet "Forest School" from Potiond village (Harghita County, Romania) offers accommodation, meals, sports, hiking on foot or by wagon / sleigh, educational activities and fun. Fenyővize (Fir's Water) Nature Trail begins right at the Forest School chalet. The route, with a length of 800m, is stretching along the Fenyővize brook and has 11 stations: Chalet Forest School, Wildlife of the stream, Ruderal vegetation along roadside, Butterbur forest - Listen to nature, Birds and reptiles, Beech-woods, Mountain hay meadows, Hemp-retting ponds, Willow woodland, Cultural landscape, Insects, Tall plants at the streamside
Casa ”Şcoala Pădurii” se află la capătul satului Potiond, la 27 km de Miercurea Ciuc, la poalele Munţilor Ciucului.
Asigură cazarea pentru 20-28 persoane în camere cu 2-6 locuri, parţial cu paturi supraetajate, cu bloc sanitar comun.
Masa poate fi servită în demipensiune sau pensiune completă, punctul forte al bucătarilor fiind mâncarea tradiţională secuiască. Casa este înconjurată de spaţiu verde, disponând de o potecă tematică educativă, parcare, teren de baschet şi grătar. 50-60 persoane au loc la masa festivă în sala mare şi pot dansa pe terasă. Lista programelor distractive: excursie cu căruţa/sania, confecţionarea de obiecte artizanale, dans şi cântec popular, plimbare pe jos cu prezentarea satului, plimbare cu căruţa/sania de prezentare a satului, activităţi de cunoaştere a naturii, excursii în Munţii Ciucului, prepararea colacilor secuieşti, scurt program tradiţional şi distractiv cu ocazia mesei festive.
Poteca tematică Fenyővize (Apa Bradului) începe chiar din dreptul cabanei Şcoala Pădurii. Traseul, având o lungime de 800m, se întinde în lungul Pârâului Fenyővize şi are 11 staţii: Cabana Şcoala Pădurii, Flora şi fauna pârâului, Vegetaţie ruderală de-a lungul drumului, Pădurea de captalan - Ascultă pădurea, Păsări şi reptile, Pădurea de fag, Fâneţe montane, Bălţi de topit cânepă, Tufăriş de sălcii, Peisaj cultural, Insecte, Ierburi înalte lângă pârâu.
Az Erdei Iskola Vendégház Csíkszeredától 27 km-re, a Csíki havasok lábánál fekvő Pottyond falu végén található. A szobák 2-6 személyesek(részben emeletes ágyakkal), közös mellékhelyiségekkel vagy saját fürdőszobával. A vendégházhoz nagy zöldövezet, parkoló, kosárlabda- illetve teniszpálya is tartozik. Az étkezés félpanzió vagy teljes panzió formájában a foglalás időpontjában kiválasztott menü alapján oldható meg. Szakácsaink erőssége a hagyományos székely konyha.

The region’s main base for hikers is Cabana Rarau, located at an elevation of 1536 meters, near the town of Campulung Moldovenesc. There’s a small restaurant and provisions shop there too. The Mountain of Salt (Sóhát, in Hungarian) is the top of the huge deposit of salt that reaches 3 km in depth. On surface, the salt has an elliptical shape, its diameters being 1.2 and 1.4.km. Paleokastritsa is one of the most popular resorts of Corfu, situated on the west coast of the island. It is located about 30 km from the capital Corfu Town, surrounded by green hills on the background of brilliant blue sea. It is considered to be the most beautiful resort of Corfu. It consists of six different bays and beaches with crystal blue sea water. Situated aobove, on the mountain, Bella Vista belvedere point overlooks the famous Paleokastritsa resort view with its magnificent bays and the famous monastery of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Above the main coast on a hillside full of wild trees and olive trees facing the deep blue sea stand this monastery who was built around 12th century. Inside there are a museum with Byzantine and post Byzantine icons. Outside the monastery, a canon is still preserved bearing the coat of Arms of Romanof (Romanov), probably since the 1799 from the short presence of Russians.
Paleokastritsa is chiefly memorable for the exceptional scenery along with the superb beaches. You can swim at six different secluded sand and fine pebble beach enclosed by tall cliffs, wooded headlands, olive groves, lemon and cypress trees and lush hilly countryside. Favourite walks are up to the promontory farthest west to find the charming Paleokastritsa monastery. You can reach on foot Agios Spyridon Bay with its immense beach, or by water-taxi. There are plenty of boat trips from Paleokastritsa beaches, the most famous being the Yellow Submarine and Nautilus, boats in which can be see the underwater world. Add variety to holidays in Paleokastritsa by visiting Lakones and other hillside villages, where you will find quiet traditional Corfu charm and memorable country taverns. Bella Vista este un promontoriu pe versantul muntelui care domină stațiunea Paleokastrisa, cea mai frumoasă staţiune din Insula Corfu. Panorama de vis acoperă versantul muntelui acoperit de păduri de măslini și chiparoși, iar în partea de jos stațiunea Paleokstrisa cu ale sale șase golfuri cu ape în diferite nuanțe. Se remarcă portul turistic Alipa (cu Submarinul Galben), plaja și golful Agios Spyridon (cu grota lui Ulise și Nausicaa) și mănăstirea Paleokastritsa (Panaghia). The objective of the festival has remained the same since the first edition: recreation, preservation and popularization of traditions specific to Ciuc area and presentation of special dishes - worthy of this wonderful food, of which depends the very existence of entire community.
Stew masters compete each year at the Potato Festival in Miercurea Ciuc. Various dishes are being prepared, from pork goulash to fish dishes. The main ingredient being the potato, the Central Park in Miercurea Ciuc turns into a flavor bazaar, where chefs delight all food lovers with a great variety of dishes. While in a pot, boils to simmer a pork goulash with potato, two steps away, a game stew awaits to be tasted. Freshly spiced, all dishes are given to the locals for a taste. The festival does not lack in fish dishes or desserts, like potato pie with butter and cream, chocolate cream with boiled potato and raspberries.

The Rarau Mountains are part of the Eastern Carpathians and offer fantastic hiking opportunities. The region’s main base for hikers is Cabana Rarau, located at an elevation of 1536 meters, near the town of Campulung Moldovenesc. There’s a small restaurant and provisions shop there too.
Enter Campulung Moldovenesc from the east, look out for the sign on the left (‘Cabana Rarau 14km’) and you’re on your way. Do not attempt to drive this route in bad weather unless you have a 4WD. Indeed, even in good weather, it’s no treat; the road is narrow and extremely pot-holed and rocky in places. Hiking takes three to four hours (follow the red circles).
A second, good and new modernized road (County road 175B, Pojorata-Rarau, 14 Km) leads up to the cabana from the village of Pojorata, 6 km west of Campulung Moldovenesc. Or hike (four to five hours; yellow crosses). This road is marked on maps. Turn left at the fork after the village post office, cross the railway tracks, then turn immediately left along the road. Also, take a moment to admire the large stones of Adam and Eve as you enter Pojorata.
Another good way to access Cabana Rarau (by car) is from the south from the village of Chiril (County road 175A, Chiril-Rarau), from the main Vatra Dornei - Poiana Largului road. From here, hiking takes three to four hours (blue circles).
From Cabana Rarau it’s just a 10 minute walk to the foot (1 hour on top) of Rarau’s most important rocks, the Lady’s Stones or Princess’ Rocks (Pietrele Doamnei). The highest (1634m) is bedecked with crosses in memory of the climbers the mountain has claimed (and the view is outstanding).
Additionally, a trail marked by red stripes and red triangles (five hours) leads from the cabana to the Slatioara Reservation. From here another trail (red triangles) leads to the Todirescu Flower Reservation.

The Mountain of Salt (Sóhát, in Hungarian) is the top of the huge deposit of salt that reaches 3 km in depth. On surface, the salt has an elliptical shape, its diameters being 1.2 and 1.4.km. Vertically it looks like a huge mushroom.
In the area of salt mountain we can notice a vivid salt karst phenomena: in the salty areas there are smaller and bigger funnels filled with clay that are similar with the phenomena of limestone areas: dolines, water absorbing blocks, hilite. A number of dolines and blocks are still continuously forming as results of the falling in of some hollows created by underground waters.
The natural salt generates the final karstic phenomenon, because of the very rapid dissolving process, helped by the fissures, diaclasis and stratification planes, all access ways for infiltration water. Dissolving and the advance of the water will generate saturation, after that only the dynamic action will operate, resulted from the flow energy. Gradually, the water will leave the upper surfaces and will penetrate the underground circulation paths. This is how the exokarst from the beginning of the process is transformed in endokarst phenomenon.
60 hacters of Salt Mountain were made geological reservations in 1995. The “Salt canyon” is in fact a valley created by the Corund Creek.
Rezervația geologică ”Muntele de sare de la Praid” (în maghiară, Sóhát) este monument al naturii, respectiv o arie protejată de interes național situată în județul Harghita la sud de comuna Praid. Rezervația are 60 ha și este străbătută de râul Corund. Acoperă cel mai mare zăcământ de sare din țară, ale cărui rădăcini sunt îngropate până la 2,7-3 km adâncime. Diapirul de sare pe orizontală are o formă ușor eliptică, având diametrul de 1,2 - 1,4 km, iar pe verticală are forma unei uriașe ciuperci.
Vegetația caracteristică este cea halofilă plante specifice sărăturilor .
Valea râului Corund a secționat Muntele de Sare ducând la apariția unui canion format din stânci și creste de sare ce asociază fenomene de carst salin cu doline, polje, diaclaze, pâlnii de dizolvare și lapiezuri, însoțite uneori de izvoare cu ape sărate.
Din canion prin potecile laterale, se pot vizita câteva doline mai mari semi-închise cuvegetație și microclimat specific, care sunt străjuite de stânci și pereți de sare ce prezintă o frumusețe exotică.
Carstul salin are o evoluție rapidă, din forme de exocarst (lapiezuri, doline, diaclaze) se ajunge într-un timp scurt la endocarst (ponoare, hornuri, diaclaze de adâncime, mici peșteri, avene).
Canionul de Sare este partea vizitabilă a Rezervației Muntele de Sare și prezintă lumea sării la suprafață. Drumețul va putea parcurge traseul de vizitare de cca 1,5 km lungime oprindu-se la cele 9 puncte informative.
1. Ocna Iosif, prima mină de adâncime deschisă în Praid încă în 1762. Mina are aproape 90 m adâncime, iar sarea a fost ridicată cu ajutorul crivacului, un dispozitiv de ridicare antrenat de 4 perechi de cai.
2. Traversând o mică pădure ajungem în zona izvoarelor de sare din a căror apă hipersalină precipită sarea pe crengile, pietrele, solul din jur. Apar cruste si forme asemănătoare boabelor de mazăre.
3. Se poate studia formarea și creșterea cristalelor de sare în băltoaca cu apă sărată.
4. Pe suprafața direct expusă la ploaie a stâncii de sare se formează lapiezuri, iar pe fețele adăpostite se formează cruste cu aspect de conopidă. Draperiile de sare apar pe suprafețele verticale.
5. Urcând pe poteca abruptă, ajungem pe marginea uriașei pâlnii formate prin dizolvare, o dolină, care funcționează și ca ponor pe timpul ploilor. Este poate cea mai spectaculoasă parte a Canionului.
6. De-a lungul pârâului apar versanții albi de sare. La punctul 6 un amfiteatru întreg de lapiezuri ni se arată, partea superioară funcționează ca stație meteo (înainte de începerea ploilor, umiditatea absorbită duce la închiderea culorii sării.
7. Creasta de sare, o formă ce este supus eroziunii pe ambii versanți. Creasta închide o serie de doline.
8. Trecând pârâul pe podețul suspendat ajungem la băile trdiționale cu nămol sărat, folosite de localnici de sute de ani pentru tratarea afecțiunilor reumatice și ale sistemului nervos. Găsiți modul de îmbăiere cu nămol pe panoul informativ afișat pe vestiar.
9. La ultimul punct veți afla răspunsul la întrebarea cum reușește pârâul cu apă dulce să străbată Muntele de Sare fără să devină sărat sau să dispară în masiv.

The Mountain of Salt (Sóhát, in Hungarian) is the top of the huge deposit of salt that reaches 3 km in depth. On surface, the salt has an elliptical shape, its diameters being 1.2 and 1.4.km. Vertically it looks like a huge mushroom.
In the area of salt mountain we can notice a vivid salt karst phenomena: in the salty areas there are smaller and bigger funnels filled with clay that are similar with the phenomena of limestone areas: dolines, water absorbing blocks, hilite. A number of dolines and blocks are still continuously forming as results of the falling in of some hollows created by underground waters.
The natural salt generates the final karstic phenomenon, because of the very rapid dissolving process, helped by the fissures, diaclasis and stratification planes, all access ways for infiltration water. Dissolving and the advance of the water will generate saturation, after that only the dynamic action will operate, resulted from the flow energy. Gradually, the water will leave the upper surfaces and will penetrate the underground circulation paths. This is how the exokarst from the beginning of the process is transformed in endokarst phenomenon.
60 hacters of Salt Mountain were made geological reservations in 1995. The “Salt canyon” is in fact a valley created by the Corund Creek.
Rezervația geologică ”Muntele de sare de la Praid” (în maghiară, Sóhát) este monument al naturii, respectiv o arie protejată de interes național situată în județul Harghita la sud de comuna Praid. Rezervația are 60 ha și este străbătută de râul Corund. Acoperă cel mai mare zăcământ de sare din țară, ale cărui rădăcini sunt îngropate până la 2,7-3 km adâncime. Diapirul de sare pe orizontală are o formă ușor eliptică, având diametrul de 1,2 - 1,4 km, iar pe verticală are forma unei uriașe ciuperci.
Vegetația caracteristică este cea halofilă plante specifice sărăturilor .
Valea râului Corund a secționat Muntele de Sare ducând la apariția unui canion format din stânci și creste de sare ce asociază fenomene de carst salin cu doline, polje, diaclaze, pâlnii de dizolvare și lapiezuri, însoțite uneori de izvoare cu ape sărate.
Din canion prin potecile laterale, se pot vizita câteva doline mai mari semi-închise cuvegetație și microclimat specific, care sunt străjuite de stânci și pereți de sare ce prezintă o frumusețe exotică.
Carstul salin are o evoluție rapidă, din forme de exocarst (lapiezuri, doline, diaclaze) se ajunge într-un timp scurt la endocarst (ponoare, hornuri, diaclaze de adâncime, mici peșteri, avene).

Strunga village is the residence center of Strunga commune, located near Târgu Frumos, 55 km from Iasi (Moldova, Romania). The Orthodox Christian calendar contains several days (especially Saturday) dedicated to the worship (memorial service) of the dead. At Strunga there is the tradition that the commemoration of the dead is also on the first Easter Sunday. It is a special day when to the cemetery of the village gather together the relatives of the deceasedes. Here come both the inhabitants of the village and those that life has risen in other places. In the noon, the courtyard in front of the church is filled with people who puts dishes on the long tables. These generally reproduce the Paschal Baskets that are blessed on the Resurrection Night: ”cozonaci” (sweet bread, pound cake), red eggs and wine. The priest of the village carry on the memorial service and reads the names of the dead from diptychs. At the end of the divine service, follows the blessing of the dishes. The tradition of the Easter blessing of the dishes is the hope of the believers in the last Resurrection. The memorial service emphasizes the blood link between those are living and those are sleeping, and in the spiritual plane, symbolizes the power of God to raise the bodies of the dead.
After the memorial service and blessing of the dishes that is done with everyone, people head to the graves. People are waiting the arrival of the priest at the tombs with burning candles and pascale dishes, prepared to be given as alms to the remembrance of the deceased. The parish priest and the reader go in turn to each tomb and sing: ”Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and upon those in the tombs, bestowing life!”. The priest sprinkles (pours) wine on the grave, for each defunct in part. The wine means the flow of blood through the resurrected bodies of the dead. After the priest's passing, prepared dishes are given as alms to children, needy, beggars and to acquaintances from neighboring graves. Often people wait the priest at several graves, depending on the buried relatives.
Strunga este satul reședință al comunei Strunga, situat lângă orașul Târgu Frumos, la 55 km de municipiul Iași. Calendarul creștin-ortodox conține mai multe zile (în special de sâmbătă) dedicate cultului (pomenirii) morților. La Strunga există tradiția ca pomenirea morților să se facă și în prima zi de Paște, duminica. Ea adună fii satului ca să cinstească rudele răposate și vin atât locuitorii satului, cât și cei plecați spre alte colțuri ale lumii. Înspre amiază, curtea din fața bisericii se umple de oameni care așază pe mese lungi bucatele aduse. Acestea reproduc, în linii mari, coșurile pascale care se sfințesc în noaptea de Înviere. Sunt nelipsite cozonacii, ouăle roșii și vinul. Tradiția sfințirii de Paște a bucatelor reprezintă speranţa credincioșilor în Învierea cea de pe urmă și de care se vorbeşte în Sfânta Scriptură. Preotul satului ține slujba de pomenire și citește din pomelnice numele morților. În timpul slujbei, oamenii prezenți se roagă pentru sufletele răposaților. La finalul slujbei, are loc binecuvântarea bucatelor. Preotul stropește cu aghiasmă, rând pe rând, toate coșurile și platourile cu bucate. Cozonacul îl reprezintă pe Hristos, iar ouăle roșii (colorate) sunt simbolul renaşterii şi al noii vieţi.
După slujba de pomenire și de binecuvântare a bucatelor ce se face cu toată lumea, oamenii se îndreaptă spre morminte. Oamenii stau la morminte cu lumânări aprinse şi cu bunătăţi pascale pregătite pentru a fi date ca pomană în amintirea răposaților. Preotul paroh și dascălul merg pe rând la fiecare mormânt şi cântă „Hristos a înviat din morţi, cu moartea pe moarte călcând şi celor din morminte viaţă dăruindu-le!". Deseori oamenii întâmpină preotul la mai multe morminte, în funcție de rudele îngropate. Preotul stropește (toarnă) cu vin pe mormânt, pentru fiecare defunct în parte. Vinul semnifică curgerea sângelui prin trupurile înviate din morți. Pomenirea morţilor subliniază legătura de sânge dintre cei vii şi cei adormiţi. După trecerea preotului, bucatele pregătite sunt date de pomană copiilor, nevoiașilor, cerșetorilor, dar și persoanelor de la mormintele învecinate.

Plimbare cu sania trasă de "doi cai frumoşi", cu pedigree, rasa lipiţan. Caii sunt bine dresaţi, foarte energici şi folosiţi doar pentru concursuri şi agrement. Plimbarea a avut loc la sfârşitul lunii decembrie 2012 pe uliţele şi pe câmpurile din zona comunei Cârţa (Csíkkarcfalva - în ungureşte), judeţul Harghita. Sleigh is pulled by two beatiful Lipizzaner horses, with pedigree, well trained and used only for competitions and entertainment. The ride took place in late December 2012 on the streets and fields of the village Cârta (Csíkkarcfalva - in Hungarian), Harghita County, Romania.

For the beginning, the video presents a series of rural landscapes in the Ciuc depressions area, crossed by the Olt River and inhabited almost exclusively by Hungarians (Szeklers). Ciucul de Sus (Felcsík - Upper Ciuc) Depression: Tomești (Csíkszenttamás), Cârța (Csíkkarcfalva), Dănești (Csíkdánfalva), Mădăraș (Csíkmadaras) villages; Ciucul de Mijloc (Középcsík - Middle Ciuc) Depression: Frumoasa (Csíkszépvíz), Livezi (Lóvész), Cioboteni (Csobotfalva), Hosasău (Hosszúaszó) villages; Ciucul de Jos (Alcsík - Lower Ciuc) Depression: Potiond (Pottyond), Ciucsângeorgiu (Csíkszentgyörgy), Sâncrăieni (Csíkszentkirály), Sântimbru (Csíkszentimre), Cetățuia (Csatószeg), Lăzărești (Lázárfalva) villages. Corund is one of the best known places of Transylvania (Romania), it is the centre of folk-pottery. Producing pottery items has been part of the village's life for a long time; it has been transmitted from father to son. Korond is one of those rare villages where producing pottery is still present as well as processing touchwood.
Traditional Transylvanian folk-art offer:
- Traditional handmade pottery (unique pieces) with blue decorations, brown, black and white pottery, There are items for everyday use and items for decoration. For flower shops thez are all kinds of flower pots and holders. Our dishes for cooking and Roman Bowls are among the favourites of housewives.
- Wooden products include carvings as well as household items (newspaper holder, flower stand, chopping boards, sideboards, massager, bottle holder), items for decoration (pictures, Seckler’s gate, kitchen wreaths, fountains), toys made of wood and many other objects.
- Woolen and leather products
- Gypsum products
- Traditional costumes (traditional Seckler clothing as well as traditional costumes of the Kalotaszeg area), You can also find traditional women’s clothes made of linen.
- Personalized or labeled covers, bowls, wooden boards, plates, ceramics dinner-services and traditional products
- Decoration items for the garden, the most popular ones are the recumbent amphorae and dwarfs.
Corund este una dintre cele mai vestite și cunoscute localități ardelene, centrul olăriei populare transilvănene. Producția de ceramică populară este prezentă de veacuri în viața satului, fiind moștenită de la tată în fiu. Corund este una dintre puținele localități unde se mai practică până în ziua de astăzi ceramica populară și prelucrarea iascăi.
Oferta de produse artizanale transilvănene:
- Ceramică tradițională lucrată manual (piese unicat) pictată cu albastru sau roșu, ceramică neagră, maro și albă. Sunt obiecte de uz personal și casnic, dar și decorațiuni. Pentru florării se găsesc vase și ghiveci de flori, ghiveci „cu buzunar”, suporturi de ghiveci etc. Oalele pentru gătit și vasele romane sunt îndrăgite de gospodine.

The chalet "Forest School" from Potiond village (Harghita County, Romania) offers accommodation, meals, sports, hiking on foot or by wagon / sleigh, educational activities and fun. Fenyővize (Fir's Water) Nature Trail begins right at the Forest School chalet. The route, with a length of 800m, is stretching along the Fenyővize brook and has 11 stations: Chalet Forest School, Wildlife of the stream, Ruderal vegetation along roadside, Butterbur forest - Listen to nature, Birds and reptiles, Beech-woods, Mountain hay meadows, Hemp-retting ponds, Willow woodland, Cultural landscape, Insects, Tall plants at the streamside
Casa ”Şcoala Pădurii” se află la capătul satului Potiond, la 27 km de Miercurea Ciuc, la poalele Munţilor Ciucului.
Asigură cazarea pentru 20-28 persoane în camere cu 2-6 locuri, parţial cu paturi supraetajate, cu bloc sanitar comun.
Masa poate fi servită în demipensiune sau pensiune completă, punctul forte al bucătarilor fiind mâncarea tradiţională secuiască. Casa este înconjurată de spaţiu verde, disponând de o potecă tematică educativă, parcare, teren de baschet şi grătar. 50-60 persoane au loc la masa festivă în sala mare şi pot dansa pe terasă. Lista programelor distractive: excursie cu căruţa/sania, confecţionarea de obiecte artizanale, dans şi cântec popular, plimbare pe jos cu prezentarea satului, plimbare cu căruţa/sania de prezentare a satului, activităţi de cunoaştere a naturii, excursii în Munţii Ciucului, prepararea colacilor secuieşti, scurt program tradiţional şi distractiv cu ocazia mesei festive.
Poteca tematică Fenyővize (Apa Bradului) începe chiar din dreptul cabanei Şcoala Pădurii. Traseul, având o lungime de 800m, se întinde în lungul Pârâului Fenyővize şi are 11 staţii: Cabana Şcoala Pădurii, Flora şi fauna pârâului, Vegetaţie ruderală de-a lungul drumului, Pădurea de captalan - Ascultă pădurea, Păsări şi reptile, Pădurea de fag, Fâneţe montane, Bălţi de topit cânepă, Tufăriş de sălcii, Peisaj cultural, Insecte, Ierburi înalte lângă pârâu.
Az Erdei Iskola Vendégház Csíkszeredától 27 km-re, a Csíki havasok lábánál fekvő Pottyond falu végén található. The chalet "Forest School" from Potiond village (Harghita County, Romania) offers accommodation, meals, sports, hiking on foot or by wagon / sleigh, educational activities and fun. Fenyővize (Fir's Water) Nature Trail begins right at the Forest School chalet. The route, with a length of 800m, is stretching along the Fenyővize brook and has 11 stations: Chalet Forest School, Wildlife of the stream, Ruderal vegetation along roadside, Butterbur forest - Listen to nature, Birds and reptiles, Beech-woods, Mountain hay meadows, Hemp-retting ponds, Willow woodland, Cultural landscape, Insects, Tall plants at the streamside
Casa ”Şcoala Pădurii” se află la capătul satului Potiond, la 27 km de Miercurea Ciuc, la poalele Munţilor Ciucului.
Asigură cazarea pentru 20-28 persoane în camere cu 2-6 locuri, parţial cu paturi supraetajate, cu bloc sanitar comun.
Masa poate fi servită în demipensiune sau pensiune completă, punctul forte al bucătarilor fiind mâncarea tradiţională secuiască. Casa este înconjurată de spaţiu verde, disponând de o potecă tematică educativă, parcare, teren de baschet şi grătar. 50-60 persoane au loc la masa festivă în sala mare şi pot dansa pe terasă. Lista programelor distractive: excursie cu căruţa/sania, confecţionarea de obiecte artizanale, dans şi cântec popular, plimbare pe jos cu prezentarea satului, plimbare cu căruţa/sania de prezentare a satului, activităţi de cunoaştere a naturii, excursii în Munţii Ciucului, prepararea colacilor secuieşti, scurt program tradiţional şi distractiv cu ocazia mesei festive.
Poteca tematică Fenyővize (Apa Bradului) începe chiar din dreptul cabanei Şcoala Pădurii. Traseul, având o lungime de 800m, se întinde în lungul Pârâului Fenyővize şi are 11 staţii: Cabana Şcoala Pădurii, Flora şi fauna pârâului, Vegetaţie ruderală de-a lungul drumului, Pădurea de captalan - Ascultă pădurea, Păsări şi reptile, Pădurea de fag, Fâneţe montane, Bălţi de topit cânepă, Tufăriş de sălcii, Peisaj cultural, Insecte, Ierburi înalte lângă pârâu.
Az Erdei Iskola Vendégház Csíkszeredától 27 km-re, a Csíki havasok lábánál fekvő Pottyond falu végén található.
