This is a feature-length documentary film about the Sephardim, the descendants of the Jews who were expelled from Spain in 1492 by the Catholic monarchs Ferdinand and Isabella. It pictorially recounts the amazing story of the Spanish Jews-from the time of the Golden Age in Moorish Spain, through the fateful years of the Inquisition and the Expulsion in 1492, and the subsequent dispersion of the Sephardim to centers such as Istanbul, Salonica, and Amsterdam.
The film illustrates the manner in which Ladino (Judeo-Spanish) is used for religious purposes, such as in the Sabbath and Passover services. Above all, this unique motion picture is an imaginative attempt to cinematically portray and interpret the lyrics of the traditional Ladino folk songs that have been the lifeblood and musical soul of the Sephardi.
The film was made with the participation of the Sephardic communities of Seattle, Washington and of Jerusalem, Israel. Starring in the film is Israeli singing star Rivka Raz, three-time winner of the Harp of David Award.

The Jewish Quarter in Girona is one of the best preserved in Europe. It is characterized by narrow streets and steep steps. Until 1492, large Jewish communities were formed in Spanish cities. But due of the Alhambra Decree, they had to leave Spain. Although many Jews had supported the war against the Muslims financially strong. After expulsion of the Muslims, the desire for religious unification in the country was stronger, which ultimately led to the Alhambra Decree. Around 10% of the population had to leave the country. The environmental and social impact were significant. Only those who converted to the Christianity were allowed to stay, but then were under general suspicion of Inquisition? Many landed on the stake. As late as 1992 the Alhambra Decree was irrevocably overridden.

Slat El Hazamah /H'zamah / el Azama originally built in 1492, the year Jews were expelled from Spain - following The Alhambra Decree (also known as the Edict of Expulsion) . The Jews identified as Hazamah lived in the Iberia Peninsula for almost 2500 years (Land mentioned in the bible as ‘TARSHISH’, which is referred in the Book of Prophets, Jeremy, Ezekiel. Jonah, King I (and Romans - Josephus) Those Jews who lived in Tarshish during the Second Temple period had never lived in Judea / Eretz Israel and had not witnessed the destruction of the Temple. They precede Christianity and Islam in across the Iberia Peninsula and south East France (Middle Pyrenees Region)
The synagogue Slat El Hazama is part of a set of buildings built around a large central courtyard, reserving the upstairs area for classrooms for teaching children Torah.
These Jews trace their lineage from Jews who lived outside of Judea 'Eretz Israel' during the destruction of the
second Temple of Jerusalem in 70 CE, . Most Probably the Jews of Hazama had been exiled from Judea after the destruction of the First Temple of Jerusalem in 587 BCE,
Among the hazama jews were; The family name Delouya/
De Loya/De Louya (from the city of Loja, Granada, in the heart of
Andalusia - Spain} and the Bitton family.

Tomás de Torquemada (Thomas of Torquemada), O.P. (/ˌtɔrkəˈmɑːdə/ Spanish: [toɾkeˈmaða]; 1420 – September 16, 1498) was a Spanish Dominican friar and the first Grand Inquisitor in Spain's movement to force Roman Catholicism upon its populace in the late 15th century, otherwise known as "The Spanish Inquisition".
The existence of many superficial converts among the Moriscos and Marranos[1] (i.e. Crypto-Jews),[2] who had found it more socially, politically and economically expedient to join the Catholic fold, was perceived by the Spanish monarchs of that time, principally King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella, as a threat to the religious and social life of Spain.[3] This led Torquemada, who himself had converso ancestors,[citation needed] to be one of the chief supporters of the Alhambra Decree that expelled the Jews from Spain in 1492

Byz.); Latin: Illiberis (Ptol. ii. 4. § 11) or Illiberi Liberini (Pliny iii. 1. s. 3)) is a city and the capital of the province of Granada, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain. Granada is located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains, at the confluence of four rivers, the Beiro, the Darro, the Genil and the Monachil. It sits at an elevation of 738 metres above sea level, yet is only one hour by car from the Mediterranean coast, the Costa Tropical. Nearby is the Sierra Nevada Ski Station, where the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 1996 were held.
In the 2005 national census, the population of the city of Granada proper was 236,982, and the population of the entire urban area was estimated to be 472,638, ranking as the 13th-largest urban area of Spain. About 3.3% of the population did not hold Spanish citizenship, the largest number of these people (31%; or 1% of the total population) coming from South America. Its nearest airport is Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén Airport.
