Lučko is a neighborhood in Novi Zagreb - zapad district of Zagreb, Croatia, located south of the Sava and southwest of the city center, near the Lučko interchange that connects the Zagreb-Karlovac motorway, the Zagreb bypass and the old road to Karlovac. The population is 2,841 (census 2001). The main industries are construction, trade and food industries.
Lučko dates from the 18th century, when it noted as the village with a river crossing - the name derives from the Croatian word for "harbor". The oldest church in the village is dated 1779. In the census of 1991, Lučko had 2,013 inhabitants.
The Lučko Airport (ICAO: LDZL) is one of the oldest buildings in Lučko and the main reason for establishment of Lučko as a neighborhood. In 1947, after the Second World War, Lučko airport became the main airport of Zagreb, replacing the yet older Borongaj airport. It held that title until 1959, when the Zagreb Airport (IATA: ZAG, ICAO: LDZA) was built near Pleso.
The previous primary airport is now home to sports planes and the Croatian special police elite Lučko Anti-Terrorist Unit, as well as the military helicopter airbase.

I can see the mountains
Melt the sky into the sea
The birds that fly the trackless air
The creatures in the deep
Where the light just hits the water
Where the earth meets sky
I shall scatter your desire
And mix snow and fire
My heart beats wings my steps are streams
