The Western Union Company (NYSE: WU) is a financial services and communications company based in the United States. Its North American headquarters is in Englewood, Colorado. Up until 2006, Western Union was the best-known U.S. company in the business of exchanging telegrams.[citation needed]
Western Union has several divisions, with products such as person-to-person money transfer, money orders, business payments and commercial services.
Western Union, as an industrialized monopoly, dominated the telegraph industry in the late 19th century. It was the first communications empire and set a pattern for American-style communications businesses as they are known today.
In 1851, the New York and Mississippi Valley Printing Telegraph Company was organized in Rochester, New York by Hiram Sibley and others, with the goal of creating one great telegraph system with unified and efficient operations. Meanwhile, Ezra Cornell had bought back one of his bankrupt companies and renamed it the New York & Western Union Telegraph Company. Originally fierce competitors, by 1855 both groups were finally convinced that consolidation was their only alternative for progress. The merged company was named The Western Union Telegraph Company at Cornell's insistence, and Western Union was born.
Things went wrong today
Bad news came my way
I woke up to find
A wire that blew my mind
Western Union man
Bad news in his hand
Knocking at my door
Selling me the score
Fifteen cents a word to read
A telegram I didn't need
Said she doesn't care no more
Think I'll throw it on the floor
Got your cable just today
Killed my groove, I've got to say, hey hey
Western Union

Bärenstark
Bärenstark
Die Schicht ist um
Ich stech die Uhr
Es ist Freitag - Gott sei dank -
Ich zieh ne Jeans und Stiefel an
Der Jeep ist voll getankt
Ich laß die Großstadt hinter mir
Heut fahr ich raus aufs Land
Ich spür den Asphalt unter mir
Die Freiheit in der Hand
Bärenstark
Bärenstark
Das wär tierisch Bärenstark
Ich trinkn Bier
Hör Country-Songs und fühl mich tierisch gut
Der alte Fluß - Im Abendrot -
Fließt still dahin
Die Sonne löscht ihre Glut
Und als es dunkel wird
Hol ich die Gitarre raus
Ich sing meine Träume
Nur so für die Bäume
Ich möcht nie mehr nach Haus
Bärenstark
Bärenstark
Das wär tierisch Bärenstark
Montagmorgens kommt der große Frust
Die Frühschicht fängt gleich an
Ich stehe dann - 10 Stunden lang -
Am Fliesband meinen Mann
Doch wieder dann
Am Wochenende
Kann ich ganz ich selber sein
Auf einsamen Straßen
Nach nirgendwo rasen
Und das wird wieder wahnsinnig
Bärenstark
Bärenstark
Das wär tierisch Bärenstark
