Given its non-strategic location in the Pyrenees Mountains and lack of natural resources, Andorra has been without conflict almost since Charlemagne came through to fight the Moors. Technically, Andorra did declare war on Germany in WWI but never sent anyone into the conflict. Given Andorra’s lack of participation in WWI they were forgotten about in the Treaty of Versailles and didn’t officially declare peace with Germany until 1957. 2. Andorra's weather is perfect. Out of each year the country commonly receives 300 days of sunshine. Combined with it’s mountainous landscape, it makes the perfect tourist destination. But you better book the hotel in time. 3. Andorra is a small country with an area of approximately 181 square miles(468 square kilometres) and a population of about 85,000 people. Their Entire Population Could Fit Into Wembley Stadium. As a result Andorra la Vella, the capital, is one of the most peacefull important european cities. 4. Shopping in Andorra is a blessing. It's independence from the E.U. allows it to be a tax haven. There is no income tax here and so tourists are attracted to the luxury items for sale in the exclusive boutiques and outlet stores. There is a sports equipment store and designer label retailer on practically every block. 5. People in Andorra can expect to live 83 years. Researchers believe there are several reasons they live so long. Andorra is a wealthy country. People are educated and have good jobs. The country has clean water, medical care and few diseases. People in Andorra also eat a healthy diet of fruit, vegetables, fish, grains and nuts. 6. Andorra's airport is nowhere to be found. The tiny country has no airports and no rail system, but possesses an excellent road system. And helipads for private helicopters. 7.
