This video provides an overview of the key functionality of the Alberta Netcare Portal. Alberta Netcare is a provincial application that provides Alberta clinicians with access to key patient health information.

In 2010, Alberta Health Services selected the Healthwise® Knowledge base to provide consumer health content for MyHealthAlberta.
Before the Healthwise® content was added to MyHealthAlberta, we needed to make sure that it aligned with the Alberta health system. In other words, that it represented our health knowledge, practices, and expertise.
We invited 150 Alberta health care professionals to review the Healthwise® content and share it with their colleagues. These professionals are considered health practice leaders, and representatives of Alberta Health Services, Alberta Health and Wellness and the physician community. After reviewing the content, they provided us with feedback, which was either added to, or used to revise the content that you will find on this website.
As we expand the MyHealthAlberta content, tools and functionality, we will continue to seek feedback from Alberta health professionals. This will make sure that it is, comprehensive, reflects current medical knowledge, and holds true to health practices in Alberta.
The Bottom Line: MyHealthAlberta content has been reviewed and updated by our own health professionals, to make sure that it reflects our health standards and practices. We are all working together to create a health site that you can trust.

Alberta
Alberta (/ælˈbɜːrtə/) is a western province of Canada. With an estimated population of 4,196,457 as of July 1, 2015, it is Canada's fourth-most populous province and the most populous of Canada's three prairie provinces. Alberta and its neighbour Saskatchewan were districts of the Northwest Territories until they were established as provinces on September 1, 1905. The premier has been Rachel Notley since May 2015.
Alberta is bounded by the provinces of British Columbia to the west and Saskatchewan to the east, the Northwest Territories to the north, and the US state of Montana to the south. Alberta is one of three Canadian provinces and territories to border only a single US state and one of only two landlocked provinces. It has a predominantly Humid continental climate, but seasonal temperature average swings are smaller than to areas further east, with winters being warmed by occasional chinook winds bringing sudden warming which moderates average temperatures.
Alberta's capital Edmonton is near the geographic centre of the province and is the primary supply and service hub for Canada's crude oil, oil sands (Athabasca oil sands) and other northern resource industries.

These are my carefully selected top 10 travel tips for Calgary & Alberta and includes the best places in Banff and things to do ranging from the most famous hot dog, a helicopter ride with Rockies Heli Tours to the most beautiful place in Canada called Lake Louise.
I decided to visit my friends from Holland who were exploring the Canadian Rockies with their RV, before chasing them down in Banff I treated myself on the most famous hot dog in Canada at Tubby Dog and tried to break the glass floor at the Calgary Tower.

It was such a memorable experience meeting my Dutch friends on the other side of the world so we decided to do it up proper with a family BBQ and a few local brewski's, namely the Powder Hound by The Grizzly Paw which is a local brewery in Canmore, Alberta.
On our first adventure we left in the early morning to take the Banff Gondola to Sulphur Mountain, one of the most mesmerizing views of Banff. Make sure to fill up prior on a classic Canadian breakfast at Tim Hortons, the Canadian way.
The next adventure was a private helicopter ride at Rockies Heli Canada who took us from Kananaskis through the Rocky Mountains. It was a gorgeous clear day which resulted in excellent video footage. We even saw the same river where they shot the movie: The Revenant.
What also amazed us were the buck loads of wildlife passing by the RV throughout our stay at Banff's tunnel mountain campgrounds.
In next week's article I will give you all the details on our adventure at Lake Louise were I completed an 11 hour, 20 kilometer hike, thus best is to relax and relieve your sore muscles at Banff Upper Hot Springs after that trip.
In conclusion we were very fortunate that we had excellent weather with blue skies the entire trip. I highly recommend visiting Calgary, Banff & Lake Louise in the first week of June for the best experience.

There are a number of popular mountains located immediately adjacent to the townsite which include Mount Rundle (2,949 m or 9,675 ft); Cascade Mountain (2,998 m or 9,836 ft); and Mount Norquay (2,134 m or 7,001 ft). Mount Norquay has a ski slope as well as mountain biking trails on the Stoney Squaw portion. A popular tourist attraction, the Banff Gondola, is available to ascend Sulphur Mountain (2,281 m or 7,484 ft) where a boardwalk (Banff Skywalk) beginning from the upper terminal takes visitors to Sanson Peak. Sulphur Mountain is also the location of one of Banff's most popular attractions, the Banff Upper Hot Springs.
Lake Minnewanka located 6 minutes north of the townsite is a very popular day use area with a variety of activities. Mountain biking, hiking and fishing are all activities allowed in this part of the park. There is a very popular Lake Cruise and motor boat rentals and a small food concession available at the marina.
Tunnel Mountain (formerly known as Sleeping Buffalo Mountain) (1,690 m or 5,545 ft) is situated within the townsite and is very popular for quick hikes; one can reach the summit in less than half an hour. It was named Tunnel Mountain because surveyors initially wanted to make a tunnel for the Canadian Pacific Railway right through the mountain, instead of following the Bow River Valley.
Banff is home to the well-known Banff World Television Festival, Banff Mountain Film Festival, Rocky Mountain Music Festival and Bike Fest. The city is also the starting point of the 4,417 km (2,745 mi) Great Divide Mountain Bike Route, which terminates at Antelope Wells, New Mexico in the United States.

It is located in Alberta's Rockies along the Trans-Canada Highway, approximately 126 km (78 mi) west of Calgary and 58 km (36 mi) east of Lake Louise. At an elevation of 1,400 m (4,600 ft) to 1,630 m (5,350 ft), Banff is the community with the second highest elevation in Alberta after Lake Louise.
The Town of Banff was the first municipality to incorporate within a Canadian national park. The town is a member of the Calgary Regional Partnership.

Dr Les Fuller provides an update at the AIA 2016 Conference, Apr. 20, on Alberta's progress toward a joint practice standard for wetland practitioners. Colleen Walford gave a presentation on flood forecasting methodology in Alberta. She works for Alberta ESRD. and reviewed the event operations methodology that the River Forecast Centre uses within Alberta. The mandate of the River Forecast Team is to provide Albertans with information related to current and future river or river ice conditions, so they can make decisions about water and emergency response planning. They do this by offering real time flow forecasting and support to the public, municipal emergency planners, industry, federal and provincial parks, First Nations, and NRCS. Colleen Walford gave a presentation on flood forecasting methodology in Alberta. She works for Alberta ESRD. and reviewed the event operations methodology that the River Forecast Centre uses within Alberta. Flow volumes are measured at twenty locations in Alberta, and forecasters are on duty between March and October of each year. They record information like: precipitation, snow packs, snow water equivalent, soil moisture, and tracking weather models coming out of the U.S.
With regards to the Calgary flood of 2013, on June 15th, the preliminary weather forecast was that a 100mm storm would occur with a high probability of 200mm falling locally. By June 17th, the River Forecast Centre started to contact monitoring groups and municipalities. By June 18th, there was a refined estimate of expected precipitation amount, based on most recent weather model runs. This amount was 80-160 mm within 48 hours. On June 19th and 20th, flood advisories were issued.

Colleen Walford gave a presentation on flood forecasting methodology in Alberta. She works for Alberta ESRD. and reviewed the event operations methodology that the River Forecast Centre uses within Alberta. The mandate of the River Forecast Team is to provide Albertans with information related to current and future river or river ice conditions, so they can make decisions about water and emergency response planning. They do this by offering real time flow forecasting and support to the public, municipal emergency planners, industry, federal and provincial parks, First Nations, and NRCS.
They gain their information from 400 hydrometric stations, 630 meteorological stations and 146 mode forecast points. Flow volumes are measured at twenty locations in Alberta, and forecasters are on duty between March and October of each year. They record information like: precipitation, snow packs, snow water equivalent, soil moisture, and tracking weather models coming out of the U.S.
With regards to the Calgary flood of 2013, on June 15th, the preliminary weather forecast was that a 100mm storm would occur with a high probability of 200mm falling locally. By June 17th, the River Forecast Centre started to contact monitoring groups and municipalities. By June 18th, there was a refined estimate of expected precipitation amount, based on most recent weather model runs. This amount was 80-160 mm within 48 hours. On June 19th and 20th, flood advisories were issued.
