In religion, a false prophet (anglicized from the Latin Vulgate: falsis prophetis) is one who falsely claims the gift of prophecy, or who uses that gift for evil ends. Often, someone who is considered a "true prophet" by some people is simultaneously considered a "false prophet" by others. The term is sometimes applied outside religion to describe someone who fervently promotes a theory that the speaker thinks is false.
Throughout the New Testament, there are warnings of both false prophets and false Messiahs, and believers are adjured to be vigilant. The following verses (Matthew 7:15–23) are from the Sermon on the Mount:
The New Testament addresses the same point of a false prophet predicting correctly and Jesus predicted the future appearance of false prophets, affirming that they can perform great signs and miracles. The following verses (;24) are from the Olivet Discourse:
In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus brought out an ethical application for his disciples using the analogy of false prophets in the Old Testament:
Plot
Desperate to save the souls of their parishioners before the anticipated Rapture, Aberhart and Manning offer a post apocalyptic vision of a greedy and easily manipulated global financial situation. We're so lucky that nothing like that came to pass.
Heaven and Earth will pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Matt. 24:35
Hal Lindsey: I believe that what we're seeing in the world today is the fulfillment of these ancient prophecies written between 2,000 and 3,500 years ago. As the world staggers from one crisis to another, I believe that we're racing on a countdown to the end of history as we know it.
Robert Nisbet: If Fascism ever comes to the United States, it'll be called Americanism. And I think that if we are going to have a fascist, totalitarian type of government or ruler in this country, he is going to be someone who exemplifies almost perfectly what we think of as the traditional American character. He's going to have elements of the rural in him, but he's not going to be in any sense a hick. He's going to have to be an individual who knows the military, likes the military, and is capable of using it.
Orson Welles: Scientists are now warning us of terrible dangers from outer space in 1982. In that year, Jupiter and all the other planets will be aligned on the same side of the sun.

What have you done for us
But bring the breakdown of all we knew?
Manipulated everyone with the lie
How much more of this
Can we take before we lose everything?
How can we bring you down?
There in all his glory
Our false prophet leads the way
And I fear there is no way to stop the fire
From burning
Sent your boys to war
With no real reasons why
Lining your pockets while thousands die
I am sure that you aren't getting any sleep
You just lie there with blood on your hands
Hear me when I say
You won't get away with this
Put my life back on its course and remove all doubt from my soul
You've left me here with false hope and now you sit back
And you watch me die tear me down with my undying breath
I risk everything obey the truth in this I trust in you stripped from shame
Without him all is lost reclaim my soul bring me new life
I'm not alone, free my soul here's my heart with this life I hold
You in condemned for all to unveil what you've become and
