Maureen Maher is an American television news reporter and correspondent, currently TV host of 48 Hours Mystery.
Maher was born in the state of Michigan, just outside of Detroit. Her birth parents were high school seniors unable to provide for Maureen and subsequently giving her up for adoption. In 1991, she graduated from Loyola University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. She currently lives in Chicago, Illinois.
Starting her broadcasting career with a Chicago based WLUW (FM) as morning drive news anchor in 1991, Maher then moved to Detroit in 1992 where she worked as a reporter for a Detroit based WJBK-TV and WWJ (AM), the CBS owned radio station until 1995. In 1995-1997, Maher worked as a news anchor for WJRT-TV in Michigan, covering breaking news, including Oklahoma City bombing and Decker farm raid. In 1997-2002, she was a Chicago-based CBS Newspath correspondent and covered many notable stories such as Impeachment of Bill Clinton, the Kosovo crisis, release of US servicemen in Albania.
