Asian refers to an inhabitant of Asia, or someone of Asian descent.
In the Americas, Australia and New Zealand the term refers to those from the Asia pacific region, such as China, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, due to common features found in the region.
In the United Kingdom and some other Commonwealth countries, the term refers more frequently to those from the Indian subcontinent.
Asian or Asiatic may also refer to:
Asian people or Asiatic people is a term with multiple meanings that refers to people who descend from a portion of Asia's population.
Native ethnic groups of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan self-identify themselves as Asian. They are also recognized as Asian by Russians and Chinese.[citation needed]
This self-identification is based phenotypically, and on cultural differences from Russians, as these countries used to be parts of the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union, and therefore have significant Russian populations. Another reason for such self-identification is patriotic: "the native people of the Center of Asia - are undoubtedly Asians".[citation needed]
In parts of anglophone Africa, especially East Africa and South Africa, and in parts of the Anglophone Caribbean, the term "Asian" is more commonly associated with people of South Asian origin, particularly Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis and Sri Lankans.
Notably, the Australian Census includes Central Asia, a region that is often considered to be part of the Greater Middle East. The Australian Census includes four regions of Asia in its official definition. Defined by the 2006–2011 Australian Census, three broad groups have the word Asian included in their name: Central and Southern Asian, South-East Asian and North-East Asian. Russians are classified as Southern and Eastern Europeans while Middle Easterners are classified as North African and Middle Easterners.

Plot
In 1993, Solvay, NY Deputies responding to a missing persons report, found the body of missing James Connelly (18) and the body of Joe Gainard (60's). All evidence pointed to Joe as the killer of James, but before he could leave the scene, Joe died of natural causes. Almost as soon as the bodies were discovered, people began disappearing for no reason other than they were at the railroad tracks, between Railroad Markers 313-330. Ten years later, Michele Connelly, James's older sister and New York Journal Reporter returns from New York City to investigate what actually happened to her brother and the more than thirty people who have disappeared since. From the beginning, her questions and attempts to find the truth are road blocked by local Sheriff Pete Scoggins. His impression upon Michele is that what happened is in the past and it is time to move on. Michele instinctively knows he is hiding something, but what? Michele talks to local farmers to find out more. They inform her that after Joe's death, the Sheriff banned anyone from going out to the Railroad Tracks where the crime happened. They also tell her that over twenty bodies were discovered in Joe's old cornfield after it was sold to a new owner. The bodies that were found date back as far as fifty years since they were last seen alive. Soon, Michele finds herself feeling as if she is part of the story she is investigating.

Stay off the Tracks.
Live once. Die once. Kill forever.
Michele Connelly: There is no separate soul, or god. Man's action is merely a response to personal compulsions, not from a higher power. The truly rational will realise this while others will not. Death will not offer us a place to go, whether we're truly good or evil. Though the truly evil and disturbed individuals may find that the mystery of the cosmos bends in their favour, as rational is neither there nor here. There is no afterlife, only afterdeath. Life's energy will transform, and the being will exhaust itself from existence. For the few that exist after death, their energy transforms into its own rationality. Which is, for us, irrational.

Iannis: When you fall in love, it is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake, and then it subsides. And when it subsides, you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots are become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the desire to mate every second of the day. It is not lying awake at night imagining that he is kissing every part of your body. No... don't blush. I am telling you some truths. For that is just being in love; which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over, when being in love has burned away. Doesn't sound very exciting, does it? But it is!
Corelli: Do you miss me?::Pelagia: So much that I cant sleep at night.
Corelli: I have always found something in life worth singing about and for that I cannot apologize.
Captain Weber: Heil Hitler!::Corelli: Heil Puccini!
Iannis: What on earth you think you are doing?::Corelli: I'm feeling the orchestra.
Pelagia: I wrote to you every day. A hundred letters... and not a single reply.::Mandras: [takes out her letters from his coat] I never learned... to read or write.
Corelli: [upon first seeing Pelagia] Bella bambina at two o'clock!
Iannis: [writing to Corelli] Antonio, I do not know if this letter will reach you, or even if you are alive. Perhaps someone else sent your record, and that is why we found no note. I would like to say that Pelagia is happy, but she is full of tears she will not let fall, and of a grief no doctor can mend. She blames herself for the pain we have suffered, and perhaps the same is true for you. You know I am not a religious man, but I believe this: if there is a wound, we must try to heal it. If there is someone whose pain we can cure, we must search till we find them. If the gods have chosen that we should survive, it will be for a reason.::[the great earthquake strikes]
Pelagia: Why did you save him? Why didn't you leave him to die?::Mandras: I wanted you to love me again. [Pulls out 100 letters] In Albania, I made them read every one of these to me... 'Mandras, I love you,' 'Mandras, I want you,' 'Mandras, when are you coming back?' And then one day, a different letter. 'I don't know how to describe my feelings. It's as if I have been waiting a hundred years to hear from you, waiting a hundred years for you to return. Once, my heart was overflowing with love for you, but now all I feel is emptiness. And I think it was all just a pretense, that I never loved you at all.'
