Lombok Island (population in 2001: 2,722,123 inhabitants) [1] is an island in the Lesser Sunda Islands or Nusa Tenggara are separated by the Lombok Strait of Bali in Sebelat Alas Strait in the west and east of Sumbawa. The island is approximately spherical with a sort of "tail" on the southwest side length of approximately 70 km.
