The latest installment in the famed Halo franchise is less than a two weeks away from launching and for 343 Industries, they know how big of a deal this is. The ambition they have for the game's campaign is admirable, but the studio still needs to walk a careful line as they continue to evolve the story of Master Chief and the Halo universe.

The MP beta showed off their skills in making a proper competitive hard as nails Halo game. They clearly went back to the drawing board after Halo 4.
Their campaign seems very intriguing and moving the franchise forward in a way Bungie neglected to (although they did a great job).
Warzone is a great addition and a natural evolution of Halo MP. Halo MP at its core has always been about massive battles for many people so having this hybrid of big team battle and tons of players and ai is a great idea.
Then they have arena where they have to very tightly balance the game for pros. They also have breakout which is another more arena based focus which is a touch.
Then they have the most comprehensive Forge mode to make amazing maps yourself.
Then free DLC maps accessible to all.
No one can accuse them of being lazy. They are going well above and beyond but arguably they need to do that with the troubles TMCC faced.

ODST was the lowest, but I didn't include it because Bungie was forced by Microsoft to turn it into a full game. It was just supposed to be DLC. Even Reach scored better than 4, and that was another game forced by MS. Bungie only ever wanted a trilogy with the Master Chief.
Don't you think 87 is a pretty good score for the studios first Halo?? The story was brilliant and that was widely praised. The multiplayer needed some work but judging by the Halo 5 beta months ago, 343 have DEFINITELY listened and changed for the better.
Additionally, all this talk about "MS forcing the game on bungie and forcing the game on 343", WTH man SMH! I've thoroughly enjoyed every single Halo game to date and 343 are doing a brilliant job at improving what Halo is today.

after Halo 3 i did not play ODST or Reach & just like i did not care to play as the arbiter in halo 2 i don't give a crap about playing as locke, just some government tool trying to stop the real hero from saving them all, just a really dumb & contrived conflict. they should make it so if i don't want to play as locke i don't have to since the whole time i am just going to want MC to put a bullet in his head & kick him off of a cliff
