Melvins - Sugar Daddy Live (2011) [Full Album]
Sugar Daddy Live is a live album by the American band Melvins. It was released on May 31, 2011. The songs are taken from their 2008 tour, with the majority of the tracks coming from their two most recent studio albums at the time. All thirteen songs were released as split 12" singles with bands selected by the Melvins for a split series. Though some of the bands are submitting new material, others like The U-Men and the Cows are submitting previously released material due to being defunct bands. Off! was the first band in the series to have new material submitted with Butthole Surfers (Although their tracks are unreleased live songs)being the second. Die Kreuzen, Negative Approach and The Necros are all on one split under the title "Midwest Hardcore". Bands confirmed at the time of the announcement are U-Men, The Cows, Off!, The Necros, Die Kreuzen, Negative Approach, Killdozer, Butthole Surfers, Fucked Up, Mudhoney and Tweak Bird. Napalm Death is speculated to be a part of the series as well and later confirmed in Vol. 9. Fantomas was also speculated and rumored despite not releasing any new material in many years but are now confirmed for Vol. 10 (Although that material is demo versions of songs from the first album.). Recently speculated bands in the set include The Gories, Altered Imperfections, BOB WANTS CHIPS and Primus. Two songs from the same show that were left off of the live album were released seperately. "Suicide in Progress" was released in a split 7" with Totimoshi on Volcom Entertainment. "Billy Fish" was released as "Billy Fish Alive" as part of the Joyful Noise 2013 flexi series. 00:00 Nude with Boots 03:59 Dog Island 09:55 Dies Iraea 13:14 Civilized Worm 18:53 The Kicking Machine 21:26 Eye Flys 30:39 Tipping the Lion 34:23 Rat Faced Granny 37:12 The Hawk 39:36 You've Never Been Right 42:23 A History of Bad Men 48:02 Star Spangled Banner 49:50 Boris- published: 02 Mar 2014

Sovereign is an EP by the Oakland, California band Neurosis. As with the previous album, Times of Grace (and each Neurosis album since) it was recorded by Steve Albini at Electric Audio in Chicago, Illinois. The CD contains a mixed-media CD-Rom portion featuring visuals and music reminiscent of their live shows and their work under the Tribes of Neurot moniker. In 2011 Neurot Recordings released a reissue that includes bonus track "Misgiven". 00:00 Prayer 07:25 An Offering 15:15 Flood 19:24 Sovereign- published: 13 Mar 2014

The Cutthroats 9 - The Cutthroats 9 (2000) [Full Album]
The Cutthroats 9 was a band formed by Chris Spencer of Unsane when he moved to California after Unsane went on hiatus in 2000. Their first single "You Should Be Dead"/"Can't Do a Thing" was released on Man's Ruin Records with Spencer on guitar/vocals, Mark Laramie (or Laramee) on bass and Billy Ropple on drums. Their first album was called The Cutthroats 9 and also came out on Man's Ruin. The lineup for this recording featured Spencer on guitar/vocals, Unsane bassist Dave Curran, plus Mark Laramie and Will Carroll on guitar and drums respectively. They followed it up with a six song EP that came out on Reptilian Records with Chris (guitar), Mark (bass) and Will (drums). The band's name is a reworking of the title for the obscure 1972 cult Spanish western-horror film directed by Joaquin Romero Marchent, Cut-Throats Nine. Celan - Halo (2009) [Full Album]
A common musical ground does not ultimately require coming from the same scene or style. It doesn't even require coming from the same musical universe, as long as there is a deep appreciation for each other's work and the ability and will to push some boundaries. celan was conceived of in early 2008 when Ari Benjamin Meyers (of Redux Orchestra and Einstürzende Neubauten) and Chris Spencer (Unsane, Cutthroats 9) met in a bar in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin. Initially it was intended as a collaboration between a classically trained composer and someone who had been working and touring in a noise/rock band for years. It's quite an ironic side note that this collaborative idea was born in Germany, probably the last remaining country in the world where music reception and thus broadcasting and medial representation still is determined by a seperation between 'serious' and 'popular' music. Sure, bands like the aforementioned Einstürzende Neubauten have been working for decades on tearing these walls down and celan might be another addition to this goal, although in a different manner. This album, titled 'halo' is Rock! It touches the genre to its core and channels pure emotion into sounds -- so thick and massive that one could only wish for, yet fascinating how Ari Benjamin Meyers' skills stand up to the blistering noise blast created by the rest of the band. But let's talk history first: After the initiation of the pure idea at said Berlin bar it became obvious that it was more than a nice idea. The possibility of recording in the ex-Einstürzende Neubauten studio came up, and it seemed that it could indeed could become reality. As months went by the whole thing began to take shape with the addition of Philipp Körner and Xavi Thiem (both of ex-flu.ID-fame) on bass and drums. Chris and the two met when flu.ID toured with Unsane in late 2007 and stayed in touch while becoming friends. Chris also met Niko Wenner during the Summer 08, and the band was complete. In August 2008 they spent two weeks in the studio writing and recording, pretty much from the get-go. Forcing themselves into a fruitful jam/recording situation they laid a full album to tape in just these two weeks. The songs breathe deeply with this spontaneity and one can feel the chemistry between the members which accompanied the creation process. Every bit of every song tells it: it had to be done exactly this way. Ideas find their way and use the musician and his instrument as a medium, creating what we call good music literally by itself. Even while there is a lot of thinking and creativity in this album it reveals it's beauty through its compelling creational vibe. 00:00 Safety Recall Notice 00:45 A Thousand Charms 05:13 All This and Everything 09:44 One Minute 13:21 Skinking 18:06 Weigh Tag 21:12 Washing Machine 25:34 Train of Thought 29:56 It's Low 33:54 Wait and See 37:35 Lunchbox- published: 24 Feb 2014

Local H - As Good as Dead (1996) [Full Album]
As Good as Dead is the second album released by Illinois-based alternative rock duo Local H. It was released in April 1996 on Island Records. As Good as Dead is notable for including some of Local H's most recognizable songs, including "High-Fiving MF", "Fritz's Corner", "Eddie Vedder", and the hit "Bound for the Floor". The album's title comes from a line in the song "Eddie Vedder". Some prints of the album received a Parental Advisory sticker perhaps due to the use of profanity in the song "High-Fiving MF" and some others. *Joe Daniels -- drums *Scott Lucas -- vocals, guitar, bass *Steve Haigler -- Producer, Engineer *Local H -- Producer *Andy Katz -- Engineer 00:00 Manifest Density, Pt. 1 00:51 High-Fiving MF 05:42 Bound on the Floor 09:25 Lovey Dovey 15:39 I Saw What You Did and I Know Who You Are 12:22 No Problem 19:53 Nothing Special 23:52 Eddie Vedder 27:22 Back in the Day 30:58 Freeze-Dried (F)lies 34:59 Frit'z Corner 37:51 O.K. 44:44 Manifest Desnity, Pt. 2- published: 06 Mar 2014

Pixies - Live in Minneapolis, MN Disc 1 (2004) [Full Album]
The Pixies returned to the stage on April 13, 2004, to a sold-out audience in Minneapolis, MN, to deliver this blistering 27-song comeback performance, 12 years after their untimely demise. Recorded live at the Fine Line Music Cafe, the intimate show feels every bit as special as it should, with an eager audience eating up each and every track as the band barrel through a set list very much in favor of their early catalog. "The Pixies are back!" hollers one rabid fan as they head into "Holiday Song" -- a chilling reminder of just how long it'd been since any fan could say the same. Surprises come in the form of "La La Love You" -- which had amazingly never been performed live -- with drummer David Lovering dedicating it to "all you lovely ladies," while Kim Deal's raspy sweetness on "Gigantic" heralds a time that has forgotten the bitter feuds of yesteryear. Additionally, "Nimrod's Son" has been injected with some new flair that helps to separate the nostalgic set from being simply a retread. The years have once again found Joey Santiago expertly weaving in and out of each song with the ease and grace that had catapulted him into guitar reverence, as evidenced in his patented piercing squeals on "Vamos." Additionally, with the howl of "Tame" and "Something Against You" reverberating like it was 1989, there's no doubt that the big man on the mike has still got it, whether he calls himself Black Francis anymore or not. For all the grandiose excitement, there's a charming awkwardness that lends itself to a bit of fumbling throughout the set -- Deal misfires more than once as do the guys on one or two guitar cues, but with the help of the stalwart timekeeper Lovering, everything stays in line and gels in just the right moments. Between the roar of the crowd and the nervous intensity coming off the stage, the recording is an intoxicating experience that longtime fans will flip over if they can find it. Gone are the synths and added guitarist found in the lineup before the split; this is The Pixies back to basics as the four-piece that everyone knows and loves. By the time Deal takes the vocals on a pared-down version of "In Heaven" (a track usually reserved for Black), the listener is handed a brilliant new moment of solid gold that leads directly into a duet on the "U.K. Surf" version of "Wave of Mutilation" and concludes with a satisfying end that doesn't so much blow the roof off as much as it caps a full evening of restored memories. Those who were in attendance had the opportunity to buy a portion of these Disc Live discs, with the rest of the limited 1,000 pressings selling out within minutes on the company's website. Similar discs were also manufactured for the rest of the band's North American warm-up dates leading up to their appearance at the Coachella Festival in May of 2004. 00:00 Bone Machine 03:49 Wave of Mutilation 05:55 U-Mass 08:56 Levitate Me 11:17 Broken Face 12:46 Monkey Gone to Heaven 15:36 Holiday Song 18:23 Winterlong 21:59 Nimrod's Son 25:20 La La Love You 28:13 Ed Is Dead 30:47 Here Comes Your Man 34:42 Vamos- published: 08 Mar 2014
