Adab, in the context of behavior, refers to prescribed Islamic etiquette: "refinement, good manners, morals, decorum, decency, humaneness". While interpretation of the scope and particulars of Adab may vary among different cultures, common among these interpretations is regard for personal standing through the observation of certain codes of behavior. To exhibit Adab would be to show "proper discrimination of correct order, behavior, and taste."
Islam has rules of etiquette and an ethical code involving every aspect of life. Muslims refer to Adab as good manners, courtesy, respect, and appropriateness, covering acts such as entering or exiting a washroom, posture when sitting, and cleansing oneself. According to Sahih Bukhari, Muhammad refrained from bad language; neither a 'Fahish nor a Mutafahish. He used to say "The best amongst you are those who have the best manners and character."

Maulana Tariq Jameel (Urdu: مولانا طارق جمیل) (born 1953) is an Islamic scholar from Pakistan. His native town is Tulambah near Mian Channu. His father was an agriculturist who belonged to the Muslim Rajputs community.[citation needed]
Tariq Jameel was born and raised in Mian Channu. In his childhood he lived a relatively modest life but religion was not a major part of his life and his family in particular. It wasn't until he pursued his M.B.B.S. in Lahore that his focus shifted towards Islam. After completing his Higher Secondary School education (a.k.a. F.Sc in some regions of Pakistan) in pre-medical (equivalent to A 'levels') from Government College, Lahore, he took admission in King Edward Medical College in Lahore. He intended to do his M.B.B.S., but he soon switched to Islamic education. He then went on to receive Islamic education from Jamia Arabia, Raiwind (near Lahore), Pakistan where he studied Quran, Hadith, Sharia, Tasawwuf, logic and Fiqh.[citation needed]
His proclivity towards Islam grew during hostel life in Lahore and can mainly be attributed to the group members of Tablighi Jamaat who he became friends with during his college life.[citation needed]

The background of the Islamic religious writings does not stand in contradiction to the fact that the first core political-literary ideas on government, court behavior, etc., entered Arab culture from Persian (or rather, Indian-Persian) civilization, and that Greek influence was also not absent. It is also at times difficult to determine precisely where the boundary lies between adab, which by its nature can also contain a great deal of religious material, and religious writing per se.

Sharia law is the law of Islam. The Sharia (also spelled Shariah or Shari'a) law is cast from the actions and words of Muhammad, which are called "Sunnah," and the Quran, which he authored.
The Sharia law itself cannot be altered, but the interpretation of the Sharia law, called "figh," by imams is given some leeway.
As a legal system, the Sharia law covers a very wide range of topics. While other legal codes deal primarily with public behavior, Sharia law covers public behavior, private behavior and private beliefs. Of all legal systems in the world today, Islam's Sharia law is the most intrusive and strict, especially against women.
According to the Sharia law:
• Theft is punishable by amputation of the right hand (above).
• Criticizing or denying any part of the Quran is punishable by death.
• Criticizing or denying Muhammad is a prophet is punishable by death.
• Criticizing or denying Allah, the moon god of Islam is punishable by death.
• A Muslim who becomes a non-Muslim is punishable by death.
• A non-Muslim who leads a Muslim away from Islam is punishable by death.
• A non-Muslim man who marries a Muslim woman is punishable by death.
• A man can marry an infant girl and consummate the marriage when she is 9 years old.
• Girls' clitoris should be cut (per Muhammad's words in Book 41, Kitab Al-Adab, Hadith 5251).
• A woman can have 1 husband, but a man can have up to 4 wives; Muhammad can have more.
• A man can unilaterally divorce his wife but a woman needs her husband's consent to divorce.
• A man can beat his wife for insubordination.
• Testimonies of four male witnesses are required to prove rape against a woman.
• A woman who has been raped cannot testify in court against her rapist(s).
• A woman's testimony in court, allowed only in property cases, carries half the weight of a man's.
• A female heir inherits half of what a male heir inherits.
• A woman cannot drive a car, as it leads to fitnah (upheaval).
• A woman cannot speak alone to a man who is not her husband or relative.
• Meat to be eaten must come from animals that have been sacrificed to Allah - i.e., be Halal.
• Muslims should engage in Taqiyya and lie to non-Muslims to advance Islam.
• The list goes on.

Never ever think that you have reached the final stage of knowledge & nobody knows more than you do.
Know that Allah Himself says in the glorious Qur'an:
'We raise in ranks (of wisdom) whomsoever We will. But above every man of knowledge, there is someone more knowledgeable.'
[QUR'AN - YUSUF 12:76].
Even Rasulullah (SallAllahu 'Alayhe wa Aalayhi wa Sallam) was asked to keep praying: 'Say! O my Lord! Advance me in knowledge.'
[QUR'AN - TA'HA 20:114]
"The true servants of the Rahman (the All-Merciful, Allah) are those who (behave gently and) walk on the earth humbly, and whenever the foolish (ignorant) people quarrel with them, they reply with (words of) peace."
[QUR'AN - FURQAN 25:63]
"And when they hear absurd talk, they withdraw from it and say, .Our deeds are for us and your deeds are for you. Peace be on you. We do not desire (to be involved in a futile argument with) the ignorant people (who lack knowledge and self-control). You cannot give guidance to whomsoever you wish, but Allah gives guidance to whomsoever He wills, and He best knows the ones who are on the right path."
[QUR'AN -- AL-QASAS 28:55-56]
"And We did not send (messengers) before you except men whom We inspired with revelation. So, ask the people (having the knowledge) of the Message (Reminder/the earlier Scriptures), if you do not know."
[QUR'AN - AN-NAHL 16:43 & AL-AMBIYA 21:7]
'A'isha (Radhi Allahu 'Anha) narrated that Rasulullah (SallAllahu 'Alayhe wa Aalayhi wa Sallam) said:
'The most despicable (not liked) amongst people in the eye of Allah is one who tries to fall into dispute with others (for nothing but only to display his knowledge and power of argumentation).'
[SAHIH MUSLIM, BOOK 34: THE BOOK OF KNOWLEDGE (KITAB AL-`ILM) HADITH: 6447]
Narrated Abu Hurayrah (Radhi Allahu 'Anhu): Rasulullah (SallAllahu 'Alayhe wa Aalayhi wa Sallam) said:
"If anyone acquires knowledge of things by which Allah's good pleasure is sought, but acquires it only to get some worldly advantage, he will not experience the arf, i.e. the odour, of Paradise.'
[SUNAN ABU DA'UD BOOK 25 HADITH 3656]
Narrated Samurah ibn Jundub (Radhi Allahu 'Anhu): Rasulullah (SallAllahu 'Alayhe wa Aalayhi wa Sallam) said, "He who lets the people hear of his good deeds intentionally, to win their praise, Allah will let the people know his real intention (on the Day of Resurrection), and he who does good things in public to show off and win the praise of the people, Allah will disclose his real intention (and humiliate him).
[SAHIH AL-BUKHARI BOOK 76 (AR-RIQAQ - TO MAKE THE HEART TENDER) HADITH 506]
Narrated Abu 'Umamah Al-Bahili (Radhi Allahu 'Anhu): Rasulullah (SallAllahu 'Alayhe wa Aalayhi wa Sallam) said: I guarantee a house in the surroundings of Paradise for a man who avoids quarrelling even if he were in the right, a house in the middle of Paradise for a man who avoids lying even if he were joking, and a house in the upper part of Paradise for a man who made his character good.
[SUNAN ABU DA'UD BOOK 41 'GENERAL BEHAVIOR (KITAB AL-ADAB)' HADITH 4782]
'Umar bin 'Abd Al-'Azîz (Rahmatullah 'Alayh) said:
" The fear of showing off and vying with others prevents me from saying much of what could be said. "
Note: Definition of vying: compete: compete for something; engage in a contest; measure oneself against others.
[NARRATED BY NU'AYM BIN 'ABDILLAH (RAHMATULLAH 'ALAIH) IN 'ABDULLAH BIN MUBÂRAK IN AL-ZUHD WA AL-RAQÂ'IQ VOLUME 1 PAGE 193, NUMBER 126]

Allah Most High says, "I am near - I answer the call of the one who calls upon me (2:186)."
Yet, many of us wonder: Are my du'as being answered? Is there a certain du'a I have to read for each of my concerns? Do my du'as have to be in Arabic?
In this video, Shaykh Faraz explains the etiquettes of having resolve when asking from Allah; lowering one's voice; and making one's du'a general and encompassing, rather than personal and limited.
It is from a series of short talks in which Shaykh Faraz Rabbani explains the reality of du'a (supplication) and how to turn to Allah. It is based on a classical text on the same subject by Shaykh al Islam Zakariyya al Ansari.

Musaddas is special form of poetry presentation in which each unit consists of 6 lines-sestain- (misra). Famous early writers employing this form are Mir Anis and Dabeer. Maulana Altaf Husain Hali and Waheed Akhtar are other well-known poets to find expression in this form of poetry. Particularly iconic is Hali's Madd-o-Jazr-e-Islam as an exemplary of this form. The original Epic "Musaddas-e-Haali" contained about 293 musaddas (units or verses) or about 900 couplets or "Sheirs". Musaddas is special form of poetry presentation in which each unit consists of 6 lines-sestain- (misra). Famous early writers employing this form are Mir Anis and Dabeer. Maulana Altaf Husain Hali and Waheed Akhtar are other well-known poets to find expression in this form of poetry. Particularly iconic is Hali's Madd-o-Jazr-e-Islam as an exemplary of this form. The original Epic "Musaddas-e-Haali" contained about 293 musaddas (units or verses) or about 900 couplets or "Sheirs". The Musaddas addition of Zamima has 161 units or 480 couplets and the Arze hall also has 63 verses. Haali described in poetic details about the rise and fall of Islam and link it with the actual behavior or causes of the moral values and decline in political power.
Altaf Hussain Hali (1837--1914) was an Urdu poet, prose-writer, critic, teacher and reformer and writer. Hali's Musaddas occupies a prominent place in the history of Urdu literature. He was a close friend of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. Haali began to compose his epic poem, the Musaddas e-Madd o-Jazr e-Islam ("An elegiac poem on the Ebb and Tide of Islam"), at the request of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, under the new pseudonym of Hali ("The Contemporary"). The Musaddas, or Musaddas-e-Haali, as it is often known, was published in 1879 to critical acclaim and heralded the modern age of Urdu poetry. Haali also wrote one of the earliest works of literary criticism in Urdu, Muqaddamah-i Shay'r-o-Sha'iri. Musaddas e-madd o-Jazr e-Islam describes the rise and fall of the Islamic empire in the sub-continent. It speaks about the Islamic empire at its best and worst and aims to forewarn the Muslims of the sub-continent, make them more aware of their past and help them learn from their forefathers' mistakes.
Hali has also written biographies of Ghalib (Yaadgar-e Ghlaib), Saadi Shirazi (Hyat-e Saadi), and Sir Syed Ahmed Khan (Hyat-e Jawed). His poem "Barkha Rut," describes the beauties of nature in the rainy season. "Hub-e-Watan," underscores the virtues of patriotism. It bothered me immensely, yet I found relief from my guilt knowing that it was the first (and has been my last "outburst," I should note) time engaging in such behavior ...
